I remember singing this song in high school. I would cry every time we sang it. I didn’t know then that it was the presence of God. It still makes my eyes water
first time I listened this anthem was in 2005 Xmas night , a opening service of a new chapel, the choir singed it in Chinese. Half a year later I decided to get baptized.
In my church, this was called “the seven-fold amen” and we knew it so well that our choir director would just say “close with the seven fold amen.” I loved it then and still do. So beautiful.
The voices of these young men and women are pure and natural. I can distinctively hear each vocal group. Love the way the groups are mingled. It provides a blended sound. The harmony is beautiful. Have listened to this video several times, and have never heard this song sung better. Well done.
Ahhhhh! We sang this song at the end of each Sunday service in the church I grew up in. Still gives me chills. Thank you for keeping this song alive. Kari Jobe and Cody Karnes version that has exploded worldwide this year is also great, but this one will be a part of me forever.
My father directed the Choirs at First English Lutheran Church in Oshkosh, Wisconsin for many years. I grew up singing in those Choirs and yes, The Lutkin Benediction was sang after each Service from the Church Narthex. Listening to this performance gave me chills and brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for rekindling wonderful memories. Roy Lewis
This benediction transports me through time and space to fifty years of services at Calvary Episcopal Church in Washington, D.C. from singing it in the Children's Choir to hearing it sung by the choir as an adult. Pete C. Lutkin (arrangement) was a genius. My absolute favorite way to end a service sending you out to face the world in joy and peacefulness!
I was part of the Youth Choir in Mdantsane Seventh Day Adventist Church and sang Tenor. We started adding this song as part of our repertoire in 2000. It still hits the same way I started practicing it in the year 2000. ❤❤❤❤
Everything's perfect. Reminds me of my choir days when I was alto 1 and my eldest sister was soprano 1. This was one of the songs that we used to sing at our local church. One of the best of acapella renditions I've ever heard. Love from the Philippines. 🇵🇭
Its my school song and I miss them all greatly and wish I could go back and take more classes. I loved them all there. You did a good work here. Thank you,
I love this song so much! My classical Christian college sings this song every end of the year, and I have my part memorized! I also sang it one time in high school as well. Thanks so much, it sounds great!
I love how they’re all clearly friends at the end. Their voices are so beautiful and clear, they hit the mark so closely that you forget that they’re humans with feelings. They’re just a group of friends that happen to be really, _really_ good at singing. Thanks for sharing.
