How absolutely beautiful. The craftsmanship here is fantastic, it’s something looks superficially easy, but once you try to do a single thing you discover how hard each step is. It’s interesting seeing how some modern material has obviously replaced what would have been originally used, for example the metal pipe I expect would have been bamboo Etc. Were these traditionally given as wedding gifts, or something, the presentation and methodology of the box format makes it look ceremonial as well as practicable. Thank you for posting! 😷👍🏻🏳️🌈🕯
Very cool, when you are finished using the lantern, you just blow out the candle, store it, and collapse the lantern back into its box, close it, and it is ready for the next time you want to use it, and the enclosed lantern is not damaged while it is stored for its next use. Very smart people, very clever.
So much of Korean history and culture have been taken away from colonization and invasions. I'm happy to see they never forget the importance of keeping these old practices alive.
It's bad and good that most things are being made easier with technology, bad thing is many of these things are going to become obsolete, so many fine arts that are dying out with our elderly

The person who made is like one man army, it took time but he did everything by himself and such a beautiful lantern .
What an exquisite creation!

Will it not get burned by the candle?
