I know this video is a couple of years old but just wanted to thank the creator for this tutorial. I followed your design to make a carrier for my Proboat Zelos 48 Electric RC Boat. Thank you for your hard work!
I view this video one month ago and like you I was having a hard time transporting my boat to the water without it either falling off the truck seat or dropping it with a bunch of stuff in my hand. I own a much smaller Atomik Barbwire it is only 17 inches long, so I took your idea bought a smaller duffel bag from a sporting good store and put your frame inside.....WORKS GREAT protecting my boat and I have plenty of room for controllers, batteries and spare parts in the compartments on the outside of the bag. THANK YOU for posting this video !!!!
Thanks got the bag on Amazon for $48 and built this exactly like you did thank you so much it fits my new blackjack 42 very well with room to spare for other things like you said that
Nicely done, I’ve been using 1/2 PVC for about a year now for projects with my R/C’s… I made a nice work-stand for my Traxxas TRX 2021 Bronco, then I needed to make a garage (a wall mounted storage spot) for the same truck… I used a pair of shelf support’z as the base and basically the same set-up from the work-stand for the support, allowing me to keep the weight off of the tire’z and shock’s… And just yesterday I made a similar support (garage) for my new Pro Boat Stealthwake…
Wonderful idea, excellent design and great presentation on the fabrication procedure! Thank you for your efforts and thank you for your associated informative boating videos! Blessings!
Thanks, great idea. I bought a bag on Amazon made out of the same material but an inch taller and wider and slightly shorter, 47 x 15 x 17 for $21. Worked great 😁
@@GodsCountry Got all the pvc at Lowe's today curbside. The man who brought out my order said and I quote. "You ever dream of this stuff?, I do and call them pipe dreams"
+God's Country I've only got the 26" shockwave right now but I can see a Zelos Twin or Voracity in the future that this ba would be great for. I'll be upgrading the Shockwave to a better ESC, ProBoat really dropped the ball installing a 30A ESC. Mine gets way too hot after a 6-7 minute 3S run, that shouldn't happen on a 75 degree cloudy day.
This bag fits the Voracity perfectly. The Zelos 36 fits well but is about as wide as you should go. I also haul my Flowmaster twin and Stealthwake in it. Something like a Turnigy Marine 60amp would probably work well in your Shockwave.
+God's Country thanks again for your help, I'll have to do something because it gets way to hot for such a short runtime. Ill probably keep the motor and get that or a HobbyWing 80A. Also I think I was your 8500th subscriber, congrats and keep up the good work!
Great bag. Great Idea. My bag should be here on Wed. I hope it's wide enough for the Traxxas M41. The M41 is about 10.5" wide. I'm also thinking about doing a mod to your design, instead of having the bunks adjustable on the horizontal. I’m thinking about making the complete bunk assembly removable. That way if you need bunks for a "V" you just make new ones. Also I'm thinking about adding a set of bunk mounting points to the 2 top rails. That would give you a work station for the boat while on the shore. All that would be needed to accomplish this is the “T” that is installed on the rail as the bunk mounting point should face vertical not horizontal. What do you think
Thanks! I think that your Traxxas M41 will fit fine because my Zelos 36 fits in the bag and its 11.75" wide. You have to tilt the boat to get it in but it hauls it just fine. I like your idea about a work station on top. I'm not following you on how you plan to build it but I say go for it. That's the wonderful thing about PVC. It's so cheap that you can try things and it's not the end of the world if it doesn't work out.
I finished my bag and frame. It turned out even better than I expected. How can I get some pictures of the finished frame to you so you can see the removable bunk assembly?
Excellent! You should be able to post a picture on my Facebook page: facebook.com/godscountrychannel/ . Or reply to this comment with your email address and I'll get in touch with you.
This carrier can be built in many different sizes. It just depends on what size bag you buy. However, a Spartan should fit in the size bag that I built because I think these boats are similar size. You should check the dimensions though. I'm sorry, I can't say about costs because prices have changed since I built this bag years ago. You will like a bag though. It really helps.
Hi, I ordered this exact bag but won’t receive till next week and wanted to start building the frame this weekend. Do you have the (4) each length measurements for the length, height and width so I can at least get that much done. I believe in the video you state the (4) length pieces are 45” but don’t have the other numbers. Thank you and excellent job on this build 👍👍👍
Hi Tom! I'm glad the video helped. I know you'll like it. Unfortunately I do not have the dimensions that you asked for. I would really recommend that you wait until you get the bag to cut the pipe. You want to make sure that the pieces are long enough so that the bag is taught and not saggy. If the pipe sections are to long obviously you can cut again to make it right but it the pieces are to short.... Not as easy to fix.
Thanks for the comment. I'm sure it depends on what size the boats are. If they are small, you could get two in this bag. If they are larger than about 20" long each, you'll probably need two bags. This bag is large as it is. If it held two 30"-40" boats, it would be huge and hard to carry and heavy.
@@GodsCountry Hi again. Many thanks for getting back to me and I have more questions please. I found a UK supplier for the Stagg bag, exact same as yours.. So I'd like to build it exactly like yours, exact same dimensions. I went to the plasticpipeshop UK and found some yellow pvc piping 3/4" 26.7mm about 1.25m in length. SO you listed only 1 of 30" of the piping. But do I need 4 lots of these ? the shop has 1.25M length of the pipe ? Also can you tell me please if you bought the 3-Way Elbow ? They have the fittings also. The T shape, the 3-Way Elbow, 4-Way Elbow and 5-Way Elbow, the Yellow Cross and the 90° Elbow and 45° Elbow for exactly the same size.
Hello Max. I'm glad you found the bag. The pipe sizes in our countries might be slightly different but you should be able to do the same thing. It sounds like the pipe size you are talking about might be larger than what I used but I am not sure. Please make sure and look at the description of the video because there is a whole parts list there that will help you.
Hello....Tried to order this bag...says not available...ive looked around internet ,no luck! anywheres else i can order it to do this mod...its for my Ms.Geico36"v2
The same techniques for building this carrier should work with other bags. I would look at the dimensions of this bag and try to find something else with similar dimensions. For your cat, something slightly wider would not be a bad thing.
Hi Mike. I'm sorry but I don't have those dimensions. I would measure the best you can and maybe cut that first piece a little long. Try the fitment and cut it shorter if need be. Luckily PVC is cheap if you make a mistake.
I'm building the bag supports now and wanted to ask you about the width of your 4 sides (6 counting the runs that the bunks rest on)? Inside the PVC I'm getting 10 1/2" (12 1/4" overall) but the boat is 11" wide, so it needs to go in at an angle to fit. I'm sure that I can add another 1/2" of width out of the sides but was wondering what you pr sides were. It fits in the bag very well already but I didn't want to stretch the sides too much. Also rounding out the inside of the T's is an pain, can't get them smooth enough to allow the pipe to slide.
Hey Travis! The distance between my pvc sides is about 11 1/4" I removed one of the PVC side bars and measured it and it came to 10 7/8". The frame should be snug in the bag but not so much that it stresses the seams. My wide cat has to be angled to get it in the bag to but it works well. Boring out the Ts is a pain but it really works well when you get the bag set up. I used a Dremel with a sanding drum.
+God's Country +God's Country Once again, thank you for the help and so quickly as well. That seems to be the difference then, my measurement of the pipe itself is 10" not 10 7/8 like yours. Also the long sides of my supports are closer to 44" not 45", so maybe my bag isn't as large as yours. I bought the same size Stagg bag but it needs wider sides to fit the Voracity easier, I'll have to work on it. Finally for the T's bored out and it wasn't fun, wish I had a large dill bit or sanding cylinder to make it easier.
+God's Country It looks great so far, I love that the bag has soft carpet inside. I'll need to pick up another run of 1/2" tomorrow so remake the sides to be a little wider for the boat. No problem though to get it right, I might also dye the PVC for a better look in the bag.
+God's Country +God's Country Alright, I recut the sides to your 10 7/8" and it fits very snug now. The boat squeezes inside by a narrow margin but that works for me. I probably could've made the long runs 45" like yours but it seemed to be too tight fitting. You made your bunks 30" long but I've got enough pipe insulation to make them closer to 35" each, so I might try that first. Is there a reason why you made them 30" besides more room around the boat? I'm sure you didn't mess up so maybe that might have been the amount of length you had left. Also the boat is 11" high with the antenna so I probably need to make the small connectors on the bunks between the T's & 90 degree elbows 1- 1 1/2" to keep the boat low in the bag.
+joep janssen Hi Joep. I'm sorry you're having a hard time finding them. If I were you I would search online for "1/2" 90 degree side outlet pvc". That should bring up a lot of results. I'm sorry but I don't have the time to go through all of the websites to see if they ship to the Neatherlands. Let me know if you have any other questions.
+God's Country thank you for your kind reply but don't worry, I'm sure I will find a solution :) The bag will arrive tomorrow so now I need to google a bit more for the frame parts.
Hello everybody, this design made by God's Country is awesome and very clever made. But I would like to warn other people who want to duplicate this rc boat bag: If you don't live in America (USA) than there is a big chance you won't find the PVC tubes and connectors which are used in this video. I live in The Netherlands and they are impossible to find here! I discovered this after I already bought the bag, so it was a little bit disappointing. I found another way to finish the RC bag anyway, but it is impossible to duplicate the exact design from God's Country unfortunatelly if you live in The Netherlands for instance....
+Tom Boots Good comment Tom. Some other people have had problems finding the PVC parts. Can you tell me what plastic pipe types you have access to in your country? I'd like to help figure out a solution for other countries.
+God's Country Yes I would like to help by explaining what I did to work around the problems that I encountered. The biggest problem was that it is impossible to find the 3-way elbow pieces of PVC that you've used in the corners of your frame design (in The Netherlands). I did find however the T-pieces and the 90 degree corner pieces in white PVC from the site Aliexpress (China webshop) in the 20mm diameter (metric system) size. You can get them there very cheap so I ordered some pieces to try out. The problem is that in the regular DIY stores in Holland they don't sell 20mm (diameter) PVC pipes/tubes. The tubes they sell here for electric installations around houses are either 16mm or 19mm. Then you also have PVC pipes for water installations, but they all have a much larger diameter tube (made for bathroom and kitchen sinks for instance). Eventually I found a store which specializes in PVC, and finally I found my 20mm pipes! Only they where grey instead of my white connectors.....
I found white PVC 20mm pipes on the internet (some Dutch webshops sell them) but they where much more expensive to order online because of the aditional shipping costs. I deceided to get the grey pipes from the PVC retailer, and don't mind the colour difference. My frame needs to be a little different in design than your frame because I don't have the 3-way elbow pieces, only the T-pieces and 90 degree corner pieces. So I will make the top of the frame with the corner pieces (make a square in the seize of the Stagg bag. And another one for the bottom of the frame in the exact same size. Then I will use the T-pieces to connect the bottom and upper half together. It is the next best thing when you have to deal with the fact that the damn 3-way elbow pieces are not available ;) I hope I explained my method clearly enough? I haven't build it yet but I will make it this weekend I think.
+Tom Boots Thank you for all of the great information on pipe sizes in your country. Your solution is exactly what I was going to suggest. I think that should work very well! Thanks for the good explanation. It should help other people in the future.
HI there, I spoke some time ago about asking you you custom making some boat bags. I have four boats and am happy to pay to good and fair price. I have boats from 800cm to a meter. Id really appreciate it if you would consider doing some bags for my wife Yana, my two boys and myself if thats convenient for you? Yours, Peter
Hi Peter. Thanks for the message but I'm going to have to turn you down again. I just don't have the time to build these for people. I would recommend that you take on the project yourself or find someone who is close to you to do it. Sorry.

+God's Country No problem, I want to help when possible. I will probably post a video of my Dutch bag when it is finished too.
Yours,
Peter
Hi Peter. Thanks for the message but I'm going to have to turn you down again. I just don't have the time to build these for people. I would recommend that you take on the project yourself or find someone who is close to you to do it. Sorry.
Peter Mabbort did you ever make the bag
