      to be fair, LD only really gets going when he riffs off someone, his standup was never really successful, it was only when he riffs with seinfeld or improvises on curb that real magic shines.

      @blueblur2273 Год назад +51

      @@mishagermanovich Seinfeld has said many times in interviews that Larry David was the brains of the operation and wrote most of the show. Larry would write the dialogue and the episode's story. Then he would take it to Seinfeld where they would review it together and Seinfeld would edit things pertaining to his character or agree or disagree with jokes or any element of the script that worked or didn't work. Either way this is not much different from any other stand up comedian around that time that got their own show. Cosby, Rosanne, Tim Allen and Martin Lawrence all didn't write their own shows. They had writers that wrote to their styles to which they would then go over it and decide on whether or not the script worked.

  • @brook316

    Larry David was a stand up comic before he started writing, he got into writing so he didn't have to do it anymore. He was also loved by other stand up comics for his balls when it came to doing his shows, including walking out on them because he knew the audience wasn't right for him.

      I liked Seinfelds stand up until i saw him again the next year and his material was 90% the same. He has a good set, but if you've seen it once, you've seen his whole act

    • @blueblur2273
      @blueblur2273 Год назад +2

      That's complete nonsense. Larry David was a failed comic which is why he stopped doing it and moved to writing. Seinfeld on the other hand is a comic that rose to prominence in the 80s before he got his hit show.
