+Joseph Reisman Mate, you oviously know fuck all about John Frusciante. Frusciante leaves TONS of amazing tracks that are as innovative as Jimi, they both inovated a lot with the instrument, but John got to live longer, he explored many more genres, more instruments, and innovated just as much, if not more. You are fucking idiotic to say that Frusciante is just a cheap gimmick when you know jack shit about him. I don't usually get this annoyed about ignorant people but oh how dumb of a statement that was. I do not expect you to understand but who knows ?
Joseph Reisman Shut the fuck up XD you don’t know what you’re talking about. I think John Frusciante is the best guitarist alive at this moment, and in comparison to Hendrix is obviously a tie. I think both have a super rad style and a fucking incredible skill.
I think frusciante is the only guy from the alternative world who made it into the lists of the greatest guitarists of all time. i'm overwhelmed i've got a nickname 'Jan' although I'm a straight woman
You can't compare Hendrix to Frusciante...If it wasn't for Jimi's stylish innovations , John would sound completely different...Hendrix changed the entire sound of rock n roll guitar, every rock guitarist uses Jimi's technique in one way or another...
how do you know that, you're crediting Hendrix for nearly 60 years of music. The credit belongs to the talented musicians that put everything into what they do.
They picked a really sub-par performance for hendrix where he didn't do much soloing, If you want a taste for what hendrix is really like listen to Machine Gun or Who Knows
Oh my goodness, these two musicians are beyond talented. Personally, I prefer John because I can feel his soul through the music but neither one are more talented than the other. They're both legendary in their own aspect. I do truly believe that John is vastly underrated though. If the general public could feel what we feel when he's playing, he'd be called the "Hendrix of the 2000's"
Frusciante is amazing when it comes to playing guitar. But Jimi is the king of of solos. He will literally shred a guitar to pieces when it comes down to one of his famous solos.
the biggest difference is in the technique and the other group that accompanies it for that reason, ... for me the music of frusciante sounds better and has more rhythm
I'm the biggest Frusciante fan ever, but there's no competition here. Everything cool about John's style is from Jimi. John is within the greater Jimi tree of influence.
They are two different types of guitarist, but as you can see the playstyle of Frusciante originated with Hendrix. Hendrix has perfect pitch, which means he can recreate most if not all the music he hears, even sounds on his guitar like bombs going off, a woman screaming, planes in Vietnam, the man was able to express every range of emotion on the guitar like no one alive today. Turn on any 90s rock and you'll find influences of Hendrix in Pearl Jam, Funkadelic Parliament, hell even recently John Mayer copied his style verbatim. If Sony wasn't a bunch of money grubbing whores his tracks like 'Angel' would be available to listen to and learn from today perhaps even inspire more minds to toy with the guitar.
I wish to take nothing away from Mr. Frusciante for he is certainly an artist in his own right, and I prefer to enjoy music and musicians on their own terms. Pitting musicians and musical styles against each other is rather pointless I feel, but I will offer a single opinion as to why I prefer Hendricks. Frusciante seems to be driven by the music behind him as Hendricks tends to drive the music itself. Think on that a while and see if you don't agree.
Great point, my friend. And very tastefully stated. I would have to agree with you. Although, I think the RHCP are a better group than what Jimi ever had. For the most part, Jimi was the entire band, but RHCP have one of the greatest chemistries I've ever heard. Daaamn shame that John is no longer with them.
***** Again, I insist you're reading too deeply. I was simply agreeing with what he said while noting that its fine the way it is. Hendrix and Frusciante are legends in their own right. Nobody can deny that.
Let's just enjoy the music and hope that these two legends will continue to inspire new musicians for generations to come :D I haven't even started to learn guitar but I can tell I wish to emulate a mixture of both artists, that means they've done their job. I will carry their torch.
I dont know why, but they have the same different styles... they are very similar but very different at the same time, and that is what i enjoy of both, i cant decide which is the best
John is in my top 10 guitarists. This is the thing though. Jimi was 27 when he died. 27. He never reached his full guitar potential the way john has as an old man. He is almost twice as old as hendrix ever was. Yet hendrix was the innovator/caveman of all of these so called guitar gods go to stuff on stage. I don't think the comparison is close or fair to frusciante. 27 years old mind you, when guitar technology was relatively barbaric. Hendrix is guitar "Adam," they'll never be that good or original again.
I think Hendrix would love John, With practise we can all sound like Hendrix but its difficult to have the connection to the guitar like Hendrix had its also like the guitar is part of him, John gets that and looks so natural doing it.
when someone tried to make a comparison between two guitar player, the fans always hate the other and the keyboard war begin. But i don't see it in this video, i guess it's confirm that all u need to play guitar is "feeling", no shred and other stuff
John learned by playing to hendrix. he got hendrix taste and added to it. I never understood why ppl compare. they are extremely good in different ways.
Hendrix had very few before him he could get inspired from. That's one point for Jimi. For Frusciante to be considered on this comparison, after so many greats played before him, that's a point for John. Both made guitars play more than musical notes, guitars sang, cried, made love (more than just awesome fucking)... That's one point each.
At the end of this, I thanked my brain for keeping me breathing!! ....because I forgot to! Truly, truly ....GOD DAMN FUCKING ....wonderful! You don't even have to know when musicians are THAT GOOD ....because your body TELLS you they ARE .....with GOOSEBUMPS!! And during this, my arms were COVERED in them!! 👊😊👍
There is only one Hendrix. There is only one Frusciante. The difference is John keeps Jimi's spirit alive through his songwriting and guitar playing! There is no vs :-)

The last part of that jam always brings a tear to my eye. most emotional piece of music for me
as much as i love john, flea and chad can really make a full sound and brings his potential out
+Timothy Beavers john growns on fundaments. flea + chad is a company to trust in!
jonh is the reincarnation of hendrix.
+Joseph Reisman Calm down bruh, you're taking this shit way to seriously xD
John was born 6 months before hendrix died so maybee
@@robbielawsonguitar6446 so was a lot of people.........
2 of the most beautiful people ever to pick up a guitar. And each bands rhythm section is phenomenal. They all slay.
I think frusciante is the only guy from the alternative world who made it into the lists of the greatest guitarists of all time. i'm overwhelmed i've got a nickname 'Jan' although I'm a straight woman
Johnny Marr absolutely does.
Stop drinking toilet water..bad dog
EXACTLY ! jimmy hendrix is the begining of the moder guitar technique
Jimi hendrix is legend! but John frusicante wow awesome guitar work man love his music!
They picked a really sub-par performance for hendrix where he didn't do much soloing, If you want a taste for what hendrix is really like listen to Machine Gun or Who Knows
It's cherry picking, all of these guitarist versus videos are like this.
Hendrix shreds and sounds dope as fuck in this clip sounds great to me
I could watch those jams without anthony singing over and over again
me too! from which is that video?
ROFL yeah it's cool to see he's learned to gtho the spotlight and just leave it to the musicians for some time.
Kkkkkk
kkkkkkkkk racho eles querendo termina e o john frusciante olhando pra eles ainda nao kkkkkkk
Oh my goodness, these two musicians are beyond talented. Personally, I prefer John because I can feel his soul through the music but neither one are more talented than the other. They're both legendary in their own aspect. I do truly believe that John is vastly underrated though. If the general public could feel what we feel when he's playing, he'd be called the "Hendrix of the 2000's"
their both creater s in their own right . . and both have that unique quality that makes them musical geniuses. .
Frusciante is amazing when it comes to playing guitar. But Jimi is the king of of solos. He will literally shred a guitar to pieces when it comes down to one of his famous solos.
The Melodious Wena Po profe
the biggest difference is in the technique and the other group that accompanies it for that reason, ... for me the music of frusciante sounds better and has more rhythm
Hendrix was the god of the guitar and hes still 😊John is a magical player🙂i love both
No, John is Jesus.
+Let's Play Mr.Spek And Jimi is black Jesus
John is not from this world
+1 vote for John Frusciante.
Two absolutely beautiful lights and expressions of love.
I'm the biggest Frusciante fan ever, but there's no competition here. Everything cool about John's style is from Jimi. John is within the greater Jimi tree of influence.
It's pretty funny when you want to try and be like Hendrix and you end up being better than him.
2 Holy monsters that i love ! 🎸❤
JOHN WITHOUT A DOUBT...ALSO EVOLUTION BABY EVOLUTION AND TECHNOLOGY
FLEA :D
🙂
Both fill my ear holes with happiness! Apples and oranges.
Jiimi te hace " viajar" adonde tu quieras....Leyenda.
JIMI Hendrix will always be with us .as long as we listen, and SRV WAS first, and the John FRUSCIANTE. True guitarists
Vc Naum votou kkkk
Iceskimoful you have the reason 👍🏽 john almost always uses th funk technique , for me that's the main difference
Frusciante Part from 14:08 to ... i don't know, everything. Just awesome
+shrewbina So John plays to the music, but Hendrix was the music. Nothing wrong with that.
This post is not about gin sir. Wrong video.
Both are amazing, I like Jimi so much, but John is awesome.
Gonna name my kid John not jimmy. That should tell you everything
John is the CHAMPION!
I think Hendrix would love John, With practise we can all sound like Hendrix but its difficult to have the connection to the guitar like Hendrix had its also like the guitar is part of him, John gets that and looks so natural doing it.
X
when someone tried to make a comparison between two guitar player, the fans always hate the other and the keyboard war begin. But i don't see it in this video, i guess it's confirm that all u need to play guitar is "feeling", no shred and other stuff
John became the RHCPs. Anthony could not have that. Huge ego.
Different eras, different styles, one was influenced by the other. You simply cannot compare them.
i personally enjoyed John's about 10x more
Wow.
well jimi kinda started it all without hendrix everything in music would be totally different today
Johnny's idol is Hendrix
in football messis idol was maradona and messi is twice the player maradona was
eee not true Joseph. there is many videos where John talks about Jimi, and how he is his biggest inspiratsion
Both of them chillin' at Johns house, jammin' with Flea n Chad. Getting crazy sounds. Recording.
John learned by playing to hendrix. he got hendrix taste and added to it. I never understood why ppl compare. they are extremely good in different ways.
+Randomsongs of course. doesn't mean you can't make a friendly comparison though
Im glad you chose live in Chorzow 2007 for this video :D
You can't compare the two ! They are both great! End of story!
That isn't fair. The chili peppers actually have a Good bass player. Imagine if Jimi did.
They are just fckin amazing!
can you imagine if Hendrix had the equipment that fruciante has now. what a ,, battle that would be. !
+Doug King
Fuzz + Wah.
what more do you need?
+wipout1 A Uni-Vibe !!, Peace.
You don't even have to know when musicians are THAT GOOD ....because your body TELLS you they ARE
.....with GOOSEBUMPS!!
And during this, my arms were COVERED in them!! 👊😊👍
John's style was birthed from Jimi - he just added his own style and personality to it.
