How to grow Bi-Colored Shiso - Shiso Perilla

In this video we show you how to grow Bi-colored shiso from seed to harvest, this is a very sought after crop to grow and by following our simple steps and procedures you can successfully execute both varieties of Shiso as a Microgreen. The same techniques are applied to Green Shiso as well so use the same procedure on all three crop varieties.

Great walk-throught. Very clear and easy to follow. Can I ask what your average yield is per tray for Shiso? I would love to know for both Bi-color and Perilla. Also, how many days to harvest do you usually need for Perilla?

Hey there. Thank you glad you enjoyed the content. Perilla is roughly a 32 day cycle seed to harvest and we are getting Bi-colored harvested around 24 days. Yields the Bi-color gets you more then the Perilla so we are focusing more on growing the Bi-colored. we do our shiso by volume OZ so a full flat will fill an 64OZ clamshell. Hope that helps.

Thank you. We use a wide variety of lights. We have typically used the Barinna super bright white shop lights(LED) but we have started using 8 foot full spectrum tube lights for our big racks.
