Kendrick's film was extremely good and I love that she managed to keep it tense and menacing without graphically showing the violent details of the murders. Well done, Anna!
I’m so happy for her. She’s brilliant, adorable, fun and I just want to root for her. She’s so consistently awesome in everything she’s in. Of corse she can direct. Duh.
I watched it because Anna is in it(I'm a fan). I watched it without knowing anything about it. During it, I realised it a was true story(I enjoy true movies). Afterwards a read that she had directed it. I'm now an even bigger fan.
@@DouglasRichardson-er4ky It is VERY badly written and directed, so take that into account. However, because it's Anna Kendrick, I still would recommend watching it on Netflix just out of support. There is no doubt she will get better with time. *The overall message, which doesn't come through until the very end is just how often the cries (and deaths!) of women are ignored by authority figures.*

Its annoying but this will help. When there is two segments featuring the first guest, the longest one is usually the first one. If there is three segments they are usually in order by length with the longest one first and the shortest one of the other two is usually last of the three. For the whole show, the funny 1 minute intro for the show is always first, the monologue is always second, his "Meanwhile" segment or its equivalent is always third. The featured guest (Anna Kendrick in this case) with two or more segments comes next, if there is a one segment guest they come next, then the musical guest if there is one is last. The monologue is always uploaded first, well in advance of the rest. The funny intro is uploaded sometime later, usually in a batch with the rest of the segments for the show. You can also wait to the next day where they place a playlist for the entire show on their home page, which is in order. But yes, it would be nice if they were numbered!
Pro tip: go to the show's main page, hit Playlists, and pick the date of the episode. All segments are posted in order. They've always done that, y'all are complaining about a "problem" that doesn't exist
I just watched Woman of the Hour on Netflix. I feel Anna Kendrick's directorial debut is masterful. I highly recommend it, for I feel she really got the flavor of that era.
She did such a good job on that movie. She wonderfully captured fear, pain, violence without being graphic about it. Beautiful job telling the victims stories-they were the stars not the killer.
"They knew that I was faking it; they had told me to fake it, and they still were like, 'well that lady seems like a leader, let's hire her.'" Yep, that's leadership in a nutshell :P

Spoiler alert: The serial killer was Rodney Alcala, he murdered many women and was picked by the girl in the dating game show, but she admitted that he creeped her out and didn’t go out with him on that date. Smartest thing she ever did!

Let's encourage our most beloved movie stars never get tired having fun performing and entertain us fans because cinema shows are suuuuper wow indeed, the best time of our lives. They say, actors enjoy their job because they care to be ... someone else. Anyone not satisfied of what they do, will you please be...someone else like actors do? I watched this movie on Netflix. I enjoyed it but most of the actors had iPhone face. I know that is hard to combat these days when doing period pieces, but the iPhone faces and even the dialogue were not true to that era. Other than that, it was great.
I absolutely love Anna Kendrick as a person, actor, and vocal musician. Unfortunately, directing is not quite there yet. I watched *Woman of The Hour* as soon as it came out, and was struck by how disjointed the writing and directing was. Anna's performance in it was truly phenomenal; she perfectly captured her character. But the writing and directing of this movie was not at all good. There are seeds of greatness I can see, so I hope she keeps learning and growing.
I love a close system where rich people support other rich people from the entertainment industry, and all the real work that gets done around the world is completely unnoticed to include the first responders, military, and public servants. Why would I care about the entertainment industry and their projects? There’s absolutely no reason.
Entertainment is real work too. Maybe not as crucial as other life saving jobs but it very much affects many peoples' lives. Living a life where all you do is work and you never get to hear/see any new stories/jokes/music from other people would be incredibly depressing. Also the fact you're commenting on a video you haven't watched means you care way more than you should. If you don't want to care then get off RUclips and go do something else man. Spend your time volunteering at a soup kitchen or join the military if you truly want to feel better than the rest of us.
@@Jxrfv456y aren’t you ignorant? I am the military punk. I’ve been retired for almost 21 years and ran for president to protect society and have been an amateur radio operator who did weather spotting to protect my communities and was trained by the Red Cross and went to multiple national disasters. Good try but you don’t know who I am. I’m the person that warned the world about COVID-19 ahead of the United States government. You need to get a life.
Now let’s bring up the fact that real stories aren’t told by the entertainment industry, many times. They glorify war. They sell every junkie product on the planet using their fame. They don’t care about you.
An American hotel group used this girl in a UK commercial. It totally bombed, cos people simply couldn’t understand what she was saying. She spoke so fast, and with an odd accent. Horses for courses I guess?
That movie was okay at best, the only thing 70s about it was the wardrobe, the feel the dialogue nothing felt authentic, Im def not one of those “this is woke” people but this movie was def woke, an entire narrative behind a real life event, watch that dating show scene where she tries to outsmart the contestants by trying to show how much more intelligent she is than the contestants, just to end up matching wits with the serial killer who can keep up with her mentally lol … really annoying … the guys she belittles were the safer choice, ending was weird too as far as timeline
She’s just so quirky and fast and perfect, like a little hummingbird that can’t stop talking lol

If you start with the one where they walk out to fanfare and applause, you are on the right track.
Yes please! Sometimes there's 3 or 4 segments, with the first one is easy because usually is the longest one, but with the others is a toss up.
grow up xD
She is an absolute firecracker of charm. I just start beaming everytime she opens her mouth ;)
God I love this woman. Hope nothing but success comes her way.
Is it just me? or is there a little boy excited bashful smile just after he finishes announcing her? 😊☺😁
We love anna kendrick and stephen colbert
She is just fabulous in everything she does!
I just watched this yesterday and didn't realize she directed it until the credits at the end. It was a great movie!!
It's a crime having Anna as a guest and not have her sing with Stephen again

Only problem with the movie is that Anna Kendrick doesn't sound anything like a 70's girl.
Anna's mannerisms reminds me so much of Donna Paulsen from Suits
I'm dead inside, but when she walked out in that dress, I hit the floor!
