Kendrick's film was extremely good and I love that she managed to keep it tense and menacing without graphically showing the violent details of the murders. Well done, Anna!
This is a good critique. I also really loved it for these same reasons. I also thought the cinematography was really choice (not sure how much of a hand she actually had in that) but some of the shots were really beautiful, some scary, some just nicely done.
I’m so happy for her. She’s brilliant, adorable, fun and I just want to root for her. She’s so consistently awesome in everything she’s in. Of corse she can direct. Duh.
Its annoying but this will help. When there is two segments featuring the first guest, the longest one is usually the first one. If there is three segments they are usually in order by length with the longest one first and the shortest one of the other two is usually last of the three. For the whole show, the funny 1 minute intro for the show is always first, the monologue is always second, his "Meanwhile" segment or its equivalent is always third. The featured guest (Anna Kendrick in this case) with two or more segments comes next, if there is a one segment guest they come next, then the musical guest if there is one is last. The monologue is always uploaded first, well in advance of the rest. The funny intro is uploaded sometime later, usually in a batch with the rest of the segments for the show. You can also wait to the next day where they place a playlist for the entire show on their home page, which is in order. But yes, it would be nice if they were numbered!
I watched it because Anna is in it(I'm a fan). I watched it without knowing anything about it. During it, I realised it a was true story(I enjoy true movies). Afterwards a read that she had directed it. I'm now an even bigger fan.
@@DouglasRichardson-er4ky It is VERY badly written and directed, so take that into account. However, because it's Anna Kendrick, I still would recommend watching it on Netflix just out of support. There is no doubt she will get better with time. *The overall message, which doesn't come through until the very end is just how often the cries (and deaths!) of women are ignored by authority figures.*

She did such a good job on that movie. She wonderfully captured fear, pain, violence without being graphic about it. Beautiful job telling the victims stories-they were the stars not the killer.
I just watched Woman of the Hour on Netflix. I feel Anna Kendrick's directorial debut is masterful. I highly recommend it, for I feel she really got the flavor of that era.
Anna Kendrick graced the show, To discuss her directorial flow. A true crime tale she did unfold, Of a killer from times of old. A casual fan, she'd always been, But life's twists made darkness convene. Obsessed she grew, with stories grim, Then came a project, on a whim. Just watched this movie last night and didn’t know much about it, didn’t even know she directed it (wow!) and it was fantastic AND absolutely FRIGHTENING AS HELL!!! It’s suspenseful and so tense. It was disheartening to find out it was based on a real life story. It gave a sinking feeling on how scary real life can be compared to the gore of other types of horror films. Her directing was AMAZING and for a first timer?? GIVE THIS WOMAN ALL OF THE AWARDS!
"How bad of a serial killer are we talking here?" "One of the really bad ones. Not someone we like." I hope this woman never changes. She's so delightfully awkward, just like the rest of us. The turn to the audience was great, you can feel her brain saying "Why did you suggest we like some serial killers?!?!" And yet, the grin never really leaves her face.
I just watched the new movie yesterday That was a great great movie She’s a natural director And young women out there Be safe Don’t hang out with randoms you don’t really know anything about Thankfully there’s tons of cameras now Not like back in the 70s
"They knew that I was faking it; they had told me to fake it, and they still were like, 'well that lady seems like a leader, let's hire her.'" Yep, that's leadership in a nutshell :P
I'm not a fan of hers because I think she's said she hates kids so makes me a little suspicious, however I thought that she did really, really great! The movie was very tense and unsettling. She did great with the role as well. I highly recommend!
Spoiler alert: The serial killer was Rodney Alcala, he murdered many women and was picked by the girl in the dating game show, but she admitted that he creeped her out and didn’t go out with him on that date. Smartest thing she ever did!

Let's encourage our most beloved movie stars never get tired having fun performing and entertain us fans because cinema shows are suuuuper wow indeed, the best time of our lives. They say, actors enjoy their job because they care to be ... someone else. Anyone not satisfied of what they do, will you please be...someone else like actors do? In web connection the best job to do is... becoming fans, mostly the fan of yourselves, like...the man in the mirror, the one you imagine you could be but you are not that lucky...go champs go for it, in this parallel universe any miracle is possible...I do not want to act...just be myself and nobody likes me.. think about it guys 😂😂😂😅😅😅
I absolutely love Anna Kendrick as a person, actor, and vocal musician. Unfortunately, directing is not quite there yet. I watched *Woman of The Hour* as soon as it came out, and was struck by how disjointed the writing and directing was. Anna's performance in it was truly phenomenal; she perfectly captured her character. But the writing and directing of this movie was not at all good. There are seeds of greatness I can see, so I hope she keeps learning and growing.

I appreciated that SO much. It is a very good debut!

She’s just so quirky and fast and perfect, like a little hummingbird that can’t stop talking lol
Knowing that she only had 6 weeks to prep makes it even more impressive! That was a fantastic directorial debut

Perfectly said, she's become my favourite actor.
Anna Kendrick knows how to wormtongue her way into Stephen's heart with that Gollum/Smeagol reference :D
She mentioned on a previous appearance they she and some friends(friend?) have watch parties for Lord of the Rings, so it wasn't just for Stephen.
God I love this woman. Hope nothing but success comes her way.

i like the movie, the voices inside our head are our consciousness
Just watched it last night. It was nihilistic and bleak but impressive for a directorial debut. Kendrick’s best acting role was in HBO MAX’s Love Life

great shoes!
The movie is fantastic
Only problem with the movie is that Anna Kendrick doesn't sound anything like a 70's girl.
So I guess when Anna went back a second time to promote herself for Director, her pitch was perfect.
Anna Kendrick and Kristen Bell - too tiny comediennes who don't get enough credit for their singing voices.
Hard to say she doesn’t get enough credit when she’s Tony award nominated

Love Annie.. just a Sweety💙
I actually worked for the father of her boyfriend in 2013... I now wonder if it was him who abused her. 😢
Most likely the same voices that probably haunted Ryan Reynolds in The Voices.
Omg, the publicists are working hard on this. She's in every celebrity channel on yt right now. Trying too hard to put her and this movie on the spot.
The movie is based on real-life serial killer Rodney Alcala.
🥰
The movie was well done as a movie, but it was also 90% made up. Even some of the 'facts' before the end credits were not accurate.
