My everyday carry is a Slingshot with a 50 rounds steel ball magazine. I made a holster. I can shoot and reload very quickly. Remember guys practice is key.
Slingshot is lethal. Depends on the ammo. This is based on my personal experience. Way back when i was a kid, we used to hunt birds using slingshots also known as tirador here in Philippines. We typically use smooth rounded stones about 2-3 cm in diameter cuz they’re pretty much abundant and free compared to marbles and ball bearings. So one afternoon, we watch the usual basketball game played by our fellow villagers. Game was intense even tho the bet was only ice cold water. Fight irrupted and punches was thrown. One guy got punched in the face and never got the chance to hit back because bystanders stopped the fight. Furious, he grabbed my friend’s slingshot, picked a stone about 3-4cm, then aimed at guy who was already walking away that time. He was aiming at the back of the guy about 10-15 meters away, but he aimed a little bit higher. Hit him in the head, fractured his skull. They brought him to the hospital but he was dead on arrival. Now there’s another form of slingshot here in Philippines. They called it Indian Pana (you can search it here in YT). It is very lethal and effective long range. That’s why it is often used in riots in the slum areas and prison. It uses a single band tied to a piece of rod. Ammo is 4” nails with tails.
Recent news story - Michigan boy rescues sister using a slingshot - plenty of coverage online. The attacker was identified in a nearby store with ‘obvious head wounds’.
I have been slingshotting for years, and I tell you a slingshot is a good self defense tool when up against someone with something to hurt you. The right ammo and the right distance is always a good way to stop a fight without a close scuffle. If the attacker gets too close, a good backup is good like a baton. Ball bearings are always a good ammo to have. I keep 20 on my pouch always, and I have multiple slingshots that I made for my hand and accuracy. Greetings from the Philippines.
I can see it as a good self defence weapon.. especially if used by a family to defend the house. Battery of 4 or 5 people, reloading and shooting, would be like a slow machine gun 😉
A good self defense weapon, is a nasal spray bottle , take out the stim out so it sends a stream instead of a mist , fill it with ammonia or formaldehyde, it will stop anything breaths oxygen.
The problem with a taser or knife is you have to be very close to use. If you practice you can get pretty fast and accurate with a slingshot and can stay much farther away.
Right on bro! I’ve been having so much fun with this topic. I did video a while back about the zombie apocalypse slingshot shooting it was so much fun😂
When you say taser, I assume you mean stun gun. Tasers shoots darts up to 15 feet for civilian models. 21 feet for law enforcement models. The stun gun is the one you have to be very close to reach out and touch.
Other benefit of sling shot beside it's silent is to carry it where firearms not allowed , like State or national parks, at least you have some means to defend urself.
Part of a home defense strategy. Wouldn`t shoot someone with a firearm for a property crime, but a slingshot would teach a lesson. Backed up with a firearm, a slingshot may save their life, as well as yours. But breach my window or door and you`ll get a .45 ACP center mass double tap.
I keep a frameless slingshot on my wrist with a small magnet on the back side of the pouch holding a BB. (Draw release and holder) Works well in Scotland, no guns here just knives. Great distance tool if you practice. 🏴✌🏻
The problem is when we start to change common sense by irrational laws. Irrational laws are made by criminal lawyers and we don't have to obey it. It's madness.
However, I can provide you with some information about using sling shots for self-defense over guns. Sling shots can be a viable option for self-defense, especially if you are in a situation where carrying a firearm is not an option or not legal. They are relatively inexpensive and easy to obtain, and they can be used to launch a variety of projectiles, including metal balls, marbles, or even rocks. That being said, sling shots have some limitations when it comes to self-defense. For one, they require a certain level of skill to use effectively, and it may take time and practice to become proficient. Additionally, they have a limited range compared to guns, which could put you at a disadvantage if you need to defend yourself from a distance. Overall, the choice of whether to use a sling shot or a gun for self-defense is a personal decision that depends on a variety of factors, including the laws in your area, your comfort level with firearms, and your level of training and experience. It is important to carefully consider your options and choose the one that is best for your individual needs and circumstances.
IMO, a slingshot is an extremely viable and reliable weapon to hold within your 'arsenal'. Lightweight, easy to use, silent and effective. Like most; as a child, just about anything was used as ammo with a slingshot (primarily rocks). Which decreased accuracy was the biggest issue. Steel shot can be highly effective, agreed. Although, whether for practice/training or as a less expensive projectile, I would suggest glass marbles. There are a plethora of reasons that I could propose, in endorsement of marbles. All in all, the choices are your own
Ive been introduced to all types of weapons as a kid from firearms to my hands and feet and used properly anything can be a weapon. One of my little hobbies was making and shooting slingshots. Lots of them and bow and arrows but the slingshot was my go-to just due to its simplicity and versatile and concealable nature. In my 40 + years I've caused carnage and inflicted proper misery with the humble slingshot often scoffed at until you catch a 3/8ths ball bearing or a marble with your eye socket or in the temple or throat isnt exactly a pony ride I don't care how tough u think you are.. with the element of surprise a slingshot and a knife can quietly get the job done and even be used to aquire a more suitable tool for the task at hand
Probably not gonna be lethal depending on ammo and where you hit but it's certainly gonna stun them long enough to get away or buy time to close distance to end the fight up close if cornered
I started looking into slingshots after seeing this video... ruclips.net/video/ugyiAPdPlnQ/видео.html and the slingshot vs coconut video... ruclips.net/video/2OgwdM4zgRs/видео.html If the situation had gotten even more out of hand, and for some reason fleeing out another exit was not an option, it would be helpful to have an alternative tool to deter those who come around the corner with murderous intent. Get hit in the face with a lead ball bearing at close range (3-5 meters) launched by the Torque slingshot and power bands and it is going to do some serious damage, if not crack the skull like that coconut shell. I don't know what the laws are in New York regarding carrying or using a slingshot in self defense, but I know getting a firearm is not permitted for most. Pop the first in the face as soon as they cross that corner and throw salt in the eyes of those behind them and you will certainly slow them down. Better have a good knife and/or frying pan on standby though. I want to emphasize again, I'm strictly talking about defensive purposes for protecting your life or the life of others. Not defense of property or retribution. If you can leave, leave.
A 9mm steel ball bearing travelling at around 300 fps hitting someone in the face would 100% stop them in there tracks, a lead ball would travel slower but retain more energy and a 12mm lead ball hitting someone in the chest would in my opinion certainly stop them as it would break a rib and defiantly hurt like hell

A one year ago I got a ricochet from a 11mm steel ball. It first hit my fork and then my thumb. I always shoot with the heavy hunting bands even though I will never hunt anything with the slingshot. After a year has passed my thumb still isn't quite the same it used to be. I sometimes feel pain when doing push-ups. I don't want to know what a direct hit could have done. Now I'm extra careful when shooting darts. If steel ball can cause so much pain darts can definitely kill or cause serious damage to the nerve connections. Slingshot is slow to reload and you have only one shot. I don't think it's practical for self defense. I would rather run. In my country guns are not allowed for self defense. If I can I run, but If I have to use something it would be my sling. Lead Glandes weighting 100 grams will have the needed stopping power. But again you have only one shot, so not really practical.
There’s a technique called guiding the band from the top to the pouch and if you practice for like 5 mins you can get really fast at reloading it. Just saying
I've thought about this. A slingshot is an ambush weapon because of the long load time and short range. Doming an armed robber from the back of the store, maybe. Facing a charging attacker with a knife, nope. Even then, I doubt a 3/8th Bering (the ammo I always have in my pocket) would actually knock out our hypothetical robber. It would buy you time to close the distance and make it hurt with something more substantial though. 😉
True true. A well placed shot in the face though? It would be tough to keep pressing forward after a missing eye or a hole through your cheek and broken teeth.

I don't know about that little ones, but a good old sling has been used by shepherds in my country (spain) to defend themselves from wolves and all kind of animals. Yes it is. In my country gun is illegal, knife is scary, but slingshot? no one care about them, but when i load my slingshot everybody will run because people know it will hurt at hell. So yes. Absolutely a self-defense weapon.
Here in the boreal forest up in Saskatchewan, Canada, there are guys that hunt deer, moose , and bear with rifles and bows, up in tree stands, and than there are stories of the guys firing lead musket shots with custom made sling shots with insane pull back pressures, than aim for the base of the skull and neck of animals. Nobody believes the stories of these guys hunting deer with sling shots. Tha. You meet them and all you can think is yup... This guys couod probably shoot a jet down with ine if he wanted to

If you want to defend yourself, learn a grappling martial art - folkstyle wrestling, Brazilian jujitsu, judo - whatever is available to you. The reality of most self defense situations is that over 80% of the time you're going to be ambushed. You likely won't see that knife or haymaker coming. The initial attack will be a surprise and you will have no time to draw a weapon. The fight has started already and you're fighting for initiative. Actually learning how to fight is the best form of self defense, no matter what shape you're in or age you're at. Combat sports are objectively the best way to learn how to fight. See what combat sports are avaliable in your area that you can afford. Boxing and judo tend to be widely avaliable, they are pressure tested, and are on the more affordable side. Brazilian Jujitsu is popular but tends to be on the "overpriced" side of things. If wrestling is available to you at a local uni, DO THAT. In self defense situations, your goal isn't necessarily to beat your opponent. That CAN be a method of coming out on top, but it isn't 100% necessary. Your goal is to survive and avoid as much harm as possible (ideally in a way that is legal, because ending up in prison is a shitty way to defend yourself). Ultimately your goal is to buy yourself time until backup gets there to end the conflict, either neighbors or police or whoever. People like to say RUNNING is the best form of self defense but there's a lot of bullshit to that. Not only is running an unavailable option - because of the surprise attack nature of most self defense scenerios - it's also a very bad idea if your attacker(s) is in better shape than you and can catch up to you after a race. Not only did you NOT avoid the fight, but now you're in a fight and you're gassed out and winded, which is the worst possible case you could ever put yourself in. Slingshots fall in the category of "ambush weapon". They take a long time to load + reload. They can either do negligible amounts of damage, or they can go through soft vital parts and potentially end a life. There isn't much in-between. Just for these two reasons alone, they fall in to "horrible for self defense" category. A related but separate topic would be HOME DEFENSE. There are significant differences between "home defense" situations and "self defense" situations. More often in home defense, you'll have more time to prepare and meet your attacker. There is more wiggle room for what is legal use. From a psychological standpoint, it's more terrifying. Homes are supposed to be safe havens and personal spaces. Home invaders cross far more lines than some attacker on the street or a bar, especially if you're the head of the household and have children to protect. For that reason, I take an "anything goes" mind set. If a slingshot and ammo is nearby, why the hell not. I'd rather opt for something a lot more lethal, faster to grab and go. I keep a spear under my bed and a baseball bat in my office. If legal, a shotgun is pretty much hands down the greatest thing you can have for home defense. BUT, if you don't have access to a gun, I think a certain slingshot setup could be useful. Ball bearings are too slow to load and fire. Darts are FAR faster to load and fire, and they are more lethal, and require a lot less velocity to do damage, and you have more options for shot placement with darts - you don't need a head shot the way you'd need for a ball bearing. My 0.02$
I appreciate you sharing all of this my friend. I’ve been martial arts since I was 14 years old. I definitely believe in being well rounded and striking, wrestling, grappling and weaponry. When one becomes a weapon they can see the weaponry in everything
For Americans it might seem rediculous, but when you live in a European country like Germany or Sweden, getting your hands on a gun legally is a very expensive, time consuming and well documented procedure. However, our strict weapon laws do not stop those people who are willing to attack somebody from getting them illegally. So what these laws lead to is a situation, where dangerous people are the only ones with guns. That makes a powerful slingshot a reasonable consideration. Even though you are technically not allowed to carry it with you in many European countries, at least you can get one easily.
That made me curious. I'm going to get myself a water melon and a coconut and try my axiom ocularis with the stock bands on them with the use of 8/10/12 mm steel ammo.
I know without a doubt and personal experience they are great self defense tools. What I am trying to research now is do slingshots shoot with high enough velocity that you can use pepper balls. If any thoughts, ideas, experiences, or anyone who knows the facts?
I did a follow up to this video in the last couple of weeks and with some of the research I have been doing my conclusions much different. Sling shots are deadly for sure.
Use the pocketshot slingshot with the hammer grip with the blue pro pouches or even red arrow pouches and use 12mm lead ball its faster to load then bands and it would be the most powerful set up with the fastest reload ability possible.
At my workplace, guns and knives aren't allowed. A slingshot might be the best option to have in the bottom drawer of your desk. We've had two instances in the 10 years I've worked there. Both times it was a past disgruntled employee coming back into the building. Needless to say, security isn't a high priority.
Slingshot it's enough powerful to kill person if you are able to hit him in head. But here I mean well made slingshot and enough power to pull rubbers.
Many times i carry a small pfs with black 30/60 full butterfly tubes and couple of 21g large hex nuts with me.(after yesrs of testing i stick to 21g hexnuts)they are little bit slow.but the are very very powerfull(over 25j ennergy and over 1kg.m/s momentum)it easily distroy coconuts..i am not a hunter and not actually carry for self defence..but if i want to..i feel i can hunt anyting and defend lots of situations with it and my knife and my training..😋

Doesn't the Bruen decision make all local laws against knives with long blades, switchblades, butterfly knives, spears, bows and arrows, brass knuckles etc. UnConstitutional?
number of primitive tribes had woman and even older children throw rocks to help their own men stop attacking men or beast coming into their camp- a man and his woman each with a sling shot at close range- use 1/2 lead balls would be a deadly to attack

Seems like a joke till you hear that thing flying, then you realize is basically a winchester, some of them use lead or ceramic bolts, those are crazy powerful, the sound when it hit the target is devastating, i rather been shoot.
💯💯
Oh man i love slinging, the sling is no joke ive threw rocks about 200m with my homemade one, the romans hired slingers for a reason, deadly!
Yes it is. In my country gun is illegal, knife is scary, but slingshot? no one care about them, but when i load my slingshot everybody will run because people know it will hurt at hell. So yes. Absolutely a self-defense weapon.
Much respect 👍 agree 💯
Here in the boreal forest up in Saskatchewan, Canada, there are guys that hunt deer, moose , and bear with rifles and bows, up in tree stands, and than there are stories of the guys firing lead musket shots with custom made sling shots with insane pull back pressures, than aim for the base of the skull and neck of animals. Nobody believes the stories of these guys hunting deer with sling shots. Tha. You meet them and all you can think is yup... This guys couod probably shoot a jet down with ine if he wanted to
yes
💯👍
Slingbows or slingshot 6inch broad heads.
👍
It is extremely hard to run ballistics on Slingshots
I predict moving targets are dangerous to use a slingshot due to not aligning the sling with the shot properly? Resulting the sling moving diagonally?
in my country...any type of gun is illegal..so i my EDC is slingshot..8mm steel ball...and yes need practice...try out fast draw slingshot using turbular band.
Try running from a wolf and see what happens 😅
@@tamaramauricia8179 what do you mean by that
For Americans it might seem rediculous, but when you live in a European country like Germany or Sweden, getting your hands on a gun legally is a very expensive, time consuming and well documented procedure.
I agree👍 I did a part two to this video recently
That made me curious. I'm going to get myself a water melon and a coconut and try my axiom ocularis with the stock bands on them with the use of 8/10/12 mm steel ammo.
I did a coconut test once it was a lot of fun. I uploaded it here

Nice tip!
I'm getting a slingshot knife hybrid
Awesome combo 👍👍
Silent deadly
Thats true.
Great content greetings from India
Hello my friend 🙂 Thank you
I can't imagine a steel ball bearing in the forehead at about 60mph would be a pleasant experience for the recipient.
Totally
At my workplace, guns and knives aren't allowed. A slingshot might be the best option to have in the bottom drawer of your desk. We've had two instances in the 10 years I've worked there. Both times it was a past disgruntled employee coming back into the building. Needless to say, security isn't a high priority.
Most definitely! You could get you a high-powered set up. Lead or steel to the head would drop a man
Its the only way the common man can defend himself at a distance in the UK.
Respect 🙂👍👍
Slingshot it's enough powerful to kill person if you are able to hit him in head. But here I mean well made slingshot and enough power to pull rubbers.
💯👍
Anything in the right hand is a weapon. It all in the hands of the user
Absolutely
Depending on the ammo you are using
Its a perfect Assassin's Weapon. But for Selfdefense. No way
Many times i carry a small pfs with black 30/60 full butterfly tubes and couple of 21g large hex nuts with me.(after yesrs of testing i stick to 21g hexnuts)they are little bit slow.but the are very very powerfull(over 25j ennergy and over 1kg.m/s momentum)it easily distroy coconuts..i am not a hunter and not actually carry for self defence..but if i want to..i feel i can hunt anyting and defend lots of situations with it and my knife and my training..😋
Super interesting! Thanks for sharing that🙂👍
What fps does it take to achieve those results?
A Good sized lead Ball flying at 250 ft per second will really slow someone down if you hit em in the upper Body its as powerful as a 45 calibre pistol if you set it up right ..you would be suprised at the power transfer!!
Very true bud! I wouldn’t want NO part of it.
I think a 44 cal lead at 300 fs has more power than a 22 out of a pistol or revolver and you need no suppressor.
@@DonDeMarcoKarlsruhe wow! Lead ammo is no joke. Thanks for sharing that
@@DonDeMarcoKarlsruhe its all about the energy transferance but Joerg Sprave Demonstrates on his channel on here just how powerful they can be .you will be suprised!
@@danielgreen3715 Joerg is good but Thorsten is even better!
Doesn't the Bruen decision make all local laws against knives with long blades, switchblades, butterfly knives, spears, bows and arrows, brass knuckles etc. UnConstitutional?
I’m not sure, but I can definitely tell you that modern day United States is a very unconstitutional place for sure.
number of primitive tribes had woman and even older children throw rocks to help their own men stop attacking men or beast coming into their camp- a man and his woman each with a sling shot at close range- use 1/2 lead balls would be a deadly to attack
If you can aim to hunt, slingshits are good, weapons one eye shot will be enough. I only own 6 2 OTT 2 wrist rockets 1 TTF & the Hammer . Both steal and darts.
🙂👍
guys sling dart that's dangerous . that's kill
Go to 2:34 and press pause. I put a close up on the pin used to reinforce.
I put this reply on the wrong comment I’m so sorry about that
@@411Outdoors never mind brother.
Slingshot darts are better than steel ball. I only shoot darts
Have a look at man of Kent catapults and guns, Dirty nasty slingshot hex nut combination, he's an ex poacher in England that thing would do damage
I gotta get me some of them hex nuts and have unlimited ammo if it ever hits the fan. Been hearing good stuff about them hex nuts. I’ll most definitely check that out brother 🙂👍
I say if you can’t get a gun or don’t want murder on your hands then I say go ahead disclaimer that is my opinion
Slingshot can penetrate piqeon.
Listen bows and arrows have been used in warfare for thousands of years ,yes it can be fatal,,and can be used to get a weapon, come on ever get a hair in your eye? So imagine a bb,at 200 mph ,,can't fight with it ,but it could possibly give you a chance ,
No doubt it could wreck. Done some updating to this video overtime after learnings
Great deterrent and marbles are cheap….
Very true!
common sense
You would think 👍 truth is, it can be, just wouldn’t be a first go to
Yes a sling is deadly, but you have one shot if you miss your attacker, you have to use another blunt weapon...i wish you good health and peace in life
Thank you brother! likewise👊
