I'm a stay at home dad, you missed "Mum's home, turn of the TV right now and get outside or go play with lego you have 10 seconds, go, NOW NOW NOW MOVE"
🤣🤣🤣
The 30 second panic from her pulling up the drive way to her entering the front door. * shit did I remember to do everything * rubbish done, washing done, dinner prepped, kitchen clean *... you know that moment lol..
Stay home dad myself
@@seananderson3374 I dont have to do dinner prep, she still does that even though she works, but cleaning, washing dishes and cloths, trash out, yep, I know that.
*edit* and shopping done so there is food available to prep dinner.
@Susan McKenzie That's very kind of you ;)
Imagine ur wife saw this comment
That "wearing them out but being terrified they'll fall asleep on the way home" bit made me feel really called out 😂
Spot on, especially the ‘what do you do all day?’ 🤬
After 3 kids … I found that flashback a little traumatising 😂😂😂
Love them but staying up exactly one hour after they went to sleep every night just to hear silence was a must back then🤣🤣
SO. ON. POINT. Last night I was all nostalgic for when my kids were little but you’ve cured me of that now thanks Jimmy 😆
So much passion in this one Jimmy! How's that FOMO and Resentment two pack...
Delightfully funny from start to finish.
Absolutely spot on!! My life for 5 years before primary school started...wouldn't have changed a thing though. Thanks Jimmy for the reminder and the laughs.
Nailed it! Usually the partner thinks you've done nothing all day and becomes just as demanding one of the kids.
My daughter would scream the house down and not nap until her dad got home from work, then she'd go to sleep straight away with him, we found wrapping her in his jumper got her to sleep cos it smelt like him, also found she'd settle anytime the NCIS theme song would come on haha
So true. For me getting in shower only to have people calling me on phone or knocking on door. When me time out and about so hard to buy for myself only instead purchasing items kids need for school or extra groceries. Lol us parents are so awkward on our own. Loves it Jimmy.
My kids are well outgrown kids shows, but I still find myself watching Shaun the Sheep alone..
I laughed .... and then I wanted to cry. 😂
The shock comes when they all leave home and you put something down and it actually stays there.
Until the grandchildren arrive.
That's when everything gets broken.
All so true (can see this one’s from the heart Jimmy)…and I miss it sooo much…
My kids are 20 and 22 and this took me right back... I remember sitting in the loo for a bit of peace and my kids banging on the bedroom door shouting "Mummy where are you?" ...since our ensuite window was right next to where our neighbour would sit outside for a sneaky ciggie I had to answer "In the bathroom"... hoping they'd go away. Fat chance... they yelled "Why are you in there?"... (through clenched teeth) "Mummys in the loo"..... they yelled back "What are you doing in there?"
🙄
Sometimes you have to simply turn off your self-censorship button and be vulgar for the sake of your sanity.
@@melissabarrett9750 i would have yelled back - im having a big smelly poo back away for your own safety
@@bodybalanceU2 Lol... Brilliant! 🤣🤣🤣
@@bodybalanceU2 I was thinking about going a bit more American Pie or Weird Science in my descriptions, but your subtlety works well.
Reading this comment on the loo where I've been hiding for the last 10 minutes
‘crazily cleaning the house ten minutes before your partner gets home so it looks like you did something today’
I see “ days of our lives “
Is still going ( hasn’t changed that much 😂😂😂
That last comment about forgetting how to be social in public again... nailed it Jimmy
I love the ' what time are you home today' to the husband. 100% true🤣
that was eerily... accurate... jimmy you wizard. Now can you do a single mum one pls lol
me quietly waiting for it to start..... the trailer looks HILARIOUS!!!
The sensory kinetic sand experience was oddly specific and detailed, Jimmy! 😉 You're alright, mate?
So spot on with this one. Had me in stitches ❤️
Being overly invested in bluey and continuing to watch bluey when my toddler is napping, yeah you got me Jimmy
I remember when my son turned 18 a few years ago & I no longer had to be a part time parent any more, it was so liberating & I was mildly concerned I didn't feel more guilty. But I am a grandparent now & grandkids are the best, you just hand them back when they go feral & make a quick exit.
As a kid watching Giggle and Hoot growing up I recognised this guy immediately and now I have something new to watch lol.
Oh so true! People think it’s easy. Lol 😂
What a looong session with so much correct information 🤣🤣🤣
I know it's a bit early but will the Brighton ladies be coming out for the spring racing carnival? 🥂🐎🛍👠👒🎩
Honestly this really helped me today mate. We've been struggling. Thanks.
i'm sensing some inner frustration there, Jimmy.......real life? lol
PERFECT!!! THIS is what it is really like. Except 20 years ago there was very limited dial up internet only available via desk top computers, and so apps and personal scrolling didn't exist. And wine was still pretentious. Deliveries to the house were major events. We were SOOOOOOO much more isolated (never mind we were in a suburban neighborhood with people all around all the time). Losing your mind was only 1/2 the cost of the ticket to be a stay at home parent, the other was loss of wages, a second or nicer car, better clothes. I will never regret the 11 years I was blessed to be home with my babies. But, I will always be grateful for them all growing up so healthy and happy and for the time I was able to go back to university.
This is the best, my mum was a stay at home mum with me until I was 7... she still knows the giggle and hoot theme tune of by heart. I’m gonna share this with her, let’s hope she likes it... 😈 she definitely was like it with me! And now when I’m 12 she just had another one, so she has a pre teen and toddler, what a lovely mix
🤣spot on as always,love it🤣By the way Jimmy, how's your household coping??Exactly as described I'm guessing🙄!!
Here's a chuckle for Mr Rees and anyone else late to the vlog... Some years ago, I was out walking in my neighbourhood and walked past a development site with boards up around it and posters pertaining to Giggle and Hoot... As I walked past a young couple, late 20s/early 30s with a toddler on the dad's shoulder, the mother pointed at the picture of Jim on the poster and asked her husband "I bet you don't even know who this is". His reply had me almost incontinent from laughter... He said " Sure I do, that's Jimmy Jiggle!". Not Jimmy Giggle, the man said Jiggle. It was too funny to not have stuck with me.
As I crawled past on the ground trying to hide my laughter, I heard the wife, saying "No dear, his name's Jimmy Giggle!" 🤣
Well done 👍🤣 so true 👍🤣🤣🤣
Foster carers! (Similar but VERY different from other parenting)
Telling someone that your child is nearly sleeping through the night and them replying, "Oh. How old's your baby?" and you saying, "He's 12."

I feel for you. thanks to fears of being stolen generation, foster parents have little hope of adopting those they care for. it's tragic, Aussie adoption rates are minuscule. so many lives which could've been made better by caring folks like you.
@@melilifabulosa5505 Thanks for your thoughts on this. It's difficult but there is a lot of misinformation out there which is why there's such a big push for adoption.
As much as we hate the system many foster parents aren't pro adoptions.
The adoption industry in America makes adoption seem all roses and rainbows. They show it as the best option. I see Australian pro-adoption does the same. The facts are, in the USA, 10-25% of foreign adoptions end up breaking down and there's nothing to say it's not the same for domestic adoption. With domestic adoption break downs this means an estimated minimum of 20,000 adopted kids a year are abandoned every year. Only around 1000-3500 are abandoned through official channels. Most are through what's called 'rehoming.' (Like with your pets) These don't have any checks ... so you can imagine the type of people who the kids end up with.
There's a whole doco on it. "Re-Homing: America's Trade in Unwanted Children." It's disgusting.
Even if you adopt a kid at 2 that kid is going to be a lot harder and more expensive than other kids.
The issue isn't foster carers not being able to adopt.. it's not supporting families enough (too many removed), not enough foster carers for the number of kids coming in and not enough respect for kinship and grandparent carers.
I'll add another some more to the list.
"Having four kids in two bedrooms."
"Being asked if you can take one more for just a couple of days but knowing they mean for a couple of years."
Watch a series of short films on RUclips called "Removed." Get your tissues. My favourite is number 3 because it shows how loving the parents are.
Txs for this.
Had zero idea your have to ask permission for something like cutting hair. & heartbreaking to think the child needed to sleep by themselves.
Its a system I know nothing about except when I've briefly found a carer on SM who shared.
Def going to look at the sources you shared. Txs!
Thank you for being a foster parent. Paper work is such a pain. It's a true evil how our society allows children to grow up under resourced families. Both bio and foster families.
I find myself really frustrated with the notion that parents must be super people that produce results without enough financial backing and training.
My mum was really sick and I was fostered out for two weeks when I was 2. The guilt she feels about that is so sad even 40 years later. She shouldn't feel guilty. Fostering should be normalised! Parents aren't superhuman and can have huge challenges that make parenting not possible for a time.
Hats off to foster families who see themselves as supporting these children while their parents get themselves sorted. What a relief to all parents that if you get hurt or get ill or go mad somebody will look after your kids until you get better
OMG! what a flashback! Had 4 kids and now 3 grandkids, and I still don't close the toilet door! There is no where you can hide.....I was a stay at home until school and wouldn't change a thing, but it seems to go on forever when you are in the middle of it all! 😃 Jimmy you are a genius 🤣
Did anyone else feel weird the first time doing groceries without kids?
I've literally just become a stay at home mum with my first baby and this is ALREADY too real 😅😅
Lol this takes me back to my first two years of motherhood...
Single parents next please!
The bit of spew on the back. Oh, yes. 🤣🤣🤣
You forgot about the goodnight song from giggle and hoot that gets stuck in your head because your little unit likes it.
I think I literally jumped for joy when they started playing Tjitji Lullaby instead... Lol
My sister after being a STHP for 8yrs, watching kids shows on Tv & learning all the songs., Getting all the Giggle & Hoot gear & Wiggles..too.my nephew now, 17 has grown up no interest in the Wiggles ..but my sister STILL goes to Wiggles concert just to relive the old days..without the dirty nappies & all you spoke about in this vid!
Best thing is that she brought me to see Jimmy 1st 'Meanwhile in Australia' show in Perth WA! Hilarious as ever!
Sitting here as a full time working parent and still being overly invested in Bluey ❤
Watching kids TV shows when the kids aren't even in the room, been there
Fanks Jimmy 🤓
I feel validated/understood/valued/and amused, all at the same time.
I up watching Jimmy and hoot and now it’s just hilarious to see the RAW talent of Jimmy Rees
Jimmy and hoot?! 🤦🏻♂️
Wtf is Jimmy and hoot?!
It's a kid's show
You judging me
Ugh for f*** sake!
I am not laughing at all, I'm crying...out loud 🤣🤣🤣
Very cathartic 🙂🙂 Cheers Jimmy xxx
This is the loveliest series!!! Its like we are all SO SEEN!!!! Thanks so much for doing this - absolutely brills!!!!🖤🖤🖤🖤
CLEARLY, you've been, or still are, a stay at home parent. 😂
This feels like a true story, thanks again Jimmy :)
Nailed it! One of the best ever. Loved it!!!!
Yerp . . . . I enjoyed meetings at work when I went back into that space -after a few years of being a stay at home parent. Cos it was an opportunity to talk to adults!!
I can tell you’re an awesome dad!
So much truth in this.
You forgot, looking for their favourite toy that they smuggled into the shops, again; and dropped, again; when you have told them that their favourite toy likes nothing better than to nap in the car, while you are shopping!
I’m a stay at home single parent… there is no wait till your father gets home! Lol but every thing in this video = real life FACTS!
*** waving my hand at you right now screaming at the phone saying "this is me!" ****
🤣🤣🤣🤣
What day off??? When the kids dad is home, its like I have 3 children instead of 2... His a man child 😑🤣🤣🤣🤣
So that refernce of the 5 mins you think theyre cute made me think of this...itll give you ptsd but the cutest time of our day is when I close my 4yos bedroom door at night and go "see you in the morning, hoot hoot" and he (with no concept of the reference) quietly goes "hoot hoot". So damn cute.
"Being overly invested in Bluey."... 😂
Sigh. After 18 years I still hum songs from the Wiggles after all the damn car trips and videos that my sons used to watch.
The day I turned up to work singing "Big Red Car" was an 'interesting' day...
Wiggles are the best.
I still can't believe this is the guy from Giggle and Hoot! Absolutely love these videos 😂😂
Absolutely Hilarious and so true!!!
I remember those days all too well. Adult children now and I still haven’t managed to get back to full time work (I do part time). I think I need time and space to recover from those years! But - I wouldn’t have it any other way.
My “kids” are now 20, 19 and 17 and it’s only the last year or so that we don’t eat dinner at 5pm. I was a stay at home mum for 15 years, and funnily enough, I don’t drink half as much as I did when the kids were younger! Didn’t fish things out of orifaces but my son was a bugger for filling the bathroom drain with lemons from the tree.
Oh and I forgot the time I was on the toilet and my son opened the door to talk to me - with two of his friends stood behind him. There is no such thing as privacy.
Only a real parent can know this ‘stuff’!🤣
Well done on this on Jimmy also well done for the show last night I was there!
ACCURATE ASF
so true ..... and mines 16!!!
Got interrupted 3 times whilst trying to watch this!
Oh I remember those days. My kid is a teenager now. Some things changed bur some remained the same.
May I quote Rodney Rude.. “ You’re Fuckn Good!”
Was a stay at home parent for a few years, never again.
If I have anymore they'll go to daycare and I'll go to work 😆
NAILED IT !!!!!!!!
Spot on jimmy
This is so awesome. Can you please please do a single (stay at home) mum one 🙌
You make me cry at the end, I just remembered how lonely I felt and depressed in some days. No one to talk to or to visit, mum's group was even worse. My daughter was my only friend and company at that time. Thank you for being honoured by your video.
Many people would give ANYTHING to have children.
Yo jimmy I’m running out of pants bro cause I keep peeing them watching ya vids. Love ya man😉❤️
What about all the ailments, snotty noses and germs 🦠
This is so accurate. JIMMY IM HONESTLY SOOOO HAPPY that u quit being Jimmy giggle. Can u do a career change from teacher to real estate?
Are there cameras in my house? 😂
I had 6 kids (twins included)
And this is pretty much on point.
Especially the over exaggerated hand gestures and silent screaming!!! 😂😂😂
You know what’s funny?
I imagine what it’s like because I’m not a parent😂Thanks Jimmy
Yeah, this must be all the "oh but you're missing out on so much" shit I hear about from people with kids when you tell them you don't want them.....EVER......
Nailed it. I'M FINE
11yrs in and still going! 😂
I remember my mum's handbag/nappy bag that was the size of a suitcase...and weighed a literal ton
SAHM/Carer this is so down pat it's hilarious! 😂😂😂
I work full time and that still describes my life 😅😭
I work as a chat BOT for a clothing company. stay at home mums ALWAYS want to chat.. they’re sooooooo lonely 😩
Thank you so much. You just sent me back 13 years. I am now embracing my teenager’s wish to stay in his room and not speak to me. Why is my house still messy?
memories
Oh my gosh... Spot on!
🤣🤣🤣
I feel like there should have been some mention of the moment you find yourself exhausted and finally sitting down before realising it's abnormally silent for a house full of small children, taking half a second to imagine those small children reading or playing nicely together, then having the panic near beat your heart from your chest realising the more realistic scenario is they're absolutely doing something they should not be doing
Haha my daughter is a stay at home mum, some of this is so true and funny 😂😂😂
Huuuh you know me so well😂
Good one. How about truckies?
You get alone time on the toilet?.. I don't, I get an audience.. apparently that's a good time to ask me a question or open the door and start dancing.. I'm trying to pree! Lol
And you forgot skipping lunch because you just made 3 different lunches for 3 different kids and cbf making anything for yourself.. lol
Oh and.. watching reruns of Giggle and Hoot..
Trying to watch this video with the kids present and not hearing a word of it because they keep asking questions and requesting I change it to Giggle and Hoot
