Obesity is running rampant in America. Hope that we as a nation can get it together to heal ourselves

You must have seen America's response to the Covid Pandemic...yeah, I'm not holding my breath because a lot of jobs and wealth are generated because of this "obesity" epidemic. Every McDonald's employee, healthcare worker, pharmaceutical company, food transportation worker, mom and pop restaurant, farmers, etc...the economy might collapse if we fix the obesity epidemic.
Not to mention I don't think many people are highly motivated to combat the sugar industry.

Exercise and diet are key factors here. Obesity is not a disease.

This breaks my heart. I was born into a family of skinny people, my entire childhood was spent proving I wasn't anorexic. Now, 30 years later I am the only one who is still thin. My entire family is huge now, they don't even look like the same people anymore and they are struggling with so many problems. I am so lucky I became a vegan, it accidentally saved me.

I do put a lot of blame on the parents. I know a family that the parents deny their kids of every single treat. Then when the kids come over or are at other houses they just want to eat snacks and junk the entire time. The kids have no self control because the parents have controlled them.

There were far more controlling parents in the past and all of their children did not become hugely obese.

obesity, aggravated by the coof took out my grandmother.
Her and me even older, grandfather got it at the same time.
She died after a prolonged struggle with it, he didn't even get sick enough to have symptoms. The difference between them? She was significantly more overweight.

Why are people lying about the fact that the negative impact of obesity is not talked about widely? Of course people know about the bad things that can happen to you if you are obese.

Some of it is unavoidable... Guys in our neighborhood have knee joints and bones so big they don't make casts big enough for their knee replacements. They are just big dudes

You mean grown men who have consumed the breastmilk of cows their entire lives are huge and it was unavoidable? We are meant to wean before we are 4 years old and we are not supposed to drink the milk of a species so much larger than us.
