सरस्वति नमस्तुभ्यं वरदे कामरूपिणि । विद्यारम्भं करिष्यामि सिद्धिर्भवतु मे सदा ॥
(Shlok 1) Om Sarasvatī namastubhyam varade kāmarūpiṇi.
Vidyārambham kariṣhyāmi, siddhirbhavatu me` sadā.
राम राम रामेति रमे रामे मनोरमे । सहस्रनाम तत्तुल्यं रामनाम वरानने ॥
(Shlok 2) Rām Rām rāmeti rame rāme manorame.
Sahasranām tattulyam Rāmanām varānane.

Gyān mānī Ganapati, ved mānī Brahmā. (both, 4)
First of all, revere the sound Om; among the gods, revere Shiv Baba.
Revere Lord Ganesh for learning, and Lord Brahma for knowledge.
1. Vidyā mānī Sarasvatī, nadī mānī Gangā. (3)
Tāl to mridang mānī, nritya mānī Rambhā.(both, 2)
For wisdom, revere Saraswati Ma; among rivers, respect the Ganges.
For rhythm, revere the mridangam; honor apsara Rambha for dance.
Gīt ko sangīt mān(ī), sangīt ko sur mān(ī).
Sur ko akshār mān(ī), tāl detā lambā.
In song, revere musical accompaniment; in singing, maintain intonation.
In intonation, revere the pronunciation; in rhythm, maintain the measure.
