But air-blocking means you're forfeiting the offense and letting the other player control the momentum. Most scenarios air-blocking puts you in a worse scenario then ground blocking in Strive. You burn meter faster in the air. Your opponent is more plus. You also receive way more pushback forcing you to redo your whole approach. Preferably you jump in a way that utilizes your double jump to throw off the opponents timing so you can jump-attack more reliably while forcing the player waiting for the anti-air to be a little risky with the timing.

Safejumps aren't really related, they are performed after getting a knockdown, and the opponent won't be able to anti-air them anyway since they are inactionable. Some fake or missinput safejumps can get called out by good anti-air buttons (6Ps in Guilty Gear)
