As a rising senior creating my essays and going through the stats section I’ve been binge watching all these types of videos. I’ve watched videos of like prodigy’s with 1600 sat scores, valedictorian, Olympiad winner and even more crazy ecs get into these top schools, which I know makes me more insecure but I keep watching. But this video really calmed me down, even though you had (what I’d consider) a really good application it felt down to earth especially seeing a face that looked like me, it didn’t feel impossible. TLDR; Thanks!
comments like this are truly why i love making videos like this! it’s easy to be insecure knowing how many high-achieving individuals are competing with u during the college app process, however u always have to remember: you yourself are a high-achieving individual. my confidence in myself, my achievements, and my application is ultimately what paved the way to a Harvard acceptance. i wish u the best of luck and i’ll be here making more videos to help you all through this process. I’m watching this vid again bro I’m ngl I got 4 APs (including upcoming senior year) and 3 honors classes and very minimal extracurriculars so I’m honestly just tryna get a 1400+ on the SAT and just see what happens. Also when u go to Harvard u should just film ur day or u and ur friends just having fun and upload it
hii so i was wondering if a 1400 would hurt my chances. I have very limited time to re-take the sat itself and I don’t know if I could get even better on the digital sat. I know this university is highly selective however I have not seen anyone get in with below a 1450.

"My Everyday Life with an Economist Monk" is my essay topic. Monk + curiosity+ resilience/peace+ leadership I chose it because I'm volunteering in ISKCON, and my mentor there is a monk who was previously an economist/banker. I've learned a lot from him. Should I write about this? Also, please give me tips for my essay.
interesting topic! make sure to create an essay that tells a story about YOU and not the monk (albeit he can be in the story). you can definitely use lessons you’ve learned from him that have grown your personal and academic characteristics to signify growth. make sure to have a fire conclusion and leave the story and on a great ending. grammar is important, use grammarly.
9th grade is honestly very (almost too early) early to be thinking abt harvard. i would say though, focus on your grades and develop good study habits because this will help you immensely down the line in your harder classes. also, join as many clubs as possible to make new friends , connections, and get involved. overall freshman year doesn’t matter for college apps but with a good attitude and ambition you’ll reach your goals!
