If your taking a levels or IB you can even get more credits than ap (at some places like FSU they'd give me enough credits to skip a year for my a levels)

My dad doesn't really entrust me to go anywhere, so most of my extracurriculars are probably going to be either passion projects or on-campus stuff. Either way, your video somehow reassurred me. I do have a question though. What extracurriculars, if any, did you do your freshman year summer?
Thank you so much for the positivity. To answer your question i spent my freshman year summer studying for the SAT, i wasn't a part of any like summer programs or research or stuff but using that time to study really prepared me to get a good SAT score.
both would be nice but i would say for your major having dedicated extracurriculars would probably be a bit more beneficial. Maybe an AP art class would look good though
Hey, I just found your video. incredible job really putting together everything. but i just joined an american highschool from abroad during the last semester of junior year - couldn't really participate in many extra-curricular because of it, and everything I have is grades from my previous school - which i believe would equate to roughly 3.7-8 GPA for now, probably will be higher ending junior year now. Do you have any advice on what i could do before and through senior year - especially that its already summer. to maximize my chances for a good - decent university. btw keep up your work, im hoping to see more videos from you. I’m interested in getting an internship this summer as a high school student but it’s June and all the summer program application deadlines have already passed so do you think it’s still possible to find one through cold emailing or something? Or what is your general experience with that?
@@Jenny-kg6jh i never really sent out cold emails but the earlier the better. assuming that you start school in late august/early september, cold emailing college profs doing research, or just research labs in your area could get you a good position and experience for the summer. you can even choose to pursue personal research as well. it is all really up to how much time end effort you put into it. good luck!!!

i might make a video on this but im not entirely sure with the whole supreme court case. its a touchy subject in general but i do think that my ability to explain my racial and ethnic background within the context of my life and show how it has become a core part of my identity through specific circumstances did play some beneficial roll in my application because the admissions officers were able to understand who I am on a deeper level. I wouldnt say that it played a larger roll than more important parts of my application, like my statistics, extracurriculars, essays, LORs, and interviews.
I wouldn’t give comments like this the time or day. For some reason we as a people can’t earn anything, but everything is based on our race!
