    VIDEO INFORMATION
So I watched Leave The World behind while trying to leave the world behind with some “sports enhancers”, and I personally thought it was a laugh out loud comedy at first. I mean 3 needle drop music montages in the first 10 minutes, Julia Roberts breaking the fourth wall, and this damn Gen Z girl obsessed with whether or not Ross and Rachel will get together… But then it hit me, holy herd of evil deer wanting to eat my family, this movie has layers. A Shrek amount of layers, and the more I watched, the more I sat up in my seat, pointed at the screen like some dumb dumb, because this might be 2023’s BEST worst movie, and I love every second of it.
There is a ton to breakdown, I know a lot of y’all want to know about the ending, we’ll be talking about that of course, but there’s like 5 different messages, tons of hidden things, it’s a treasure trove of great stuff. So slap that subscribe button so I can afford more Cheetos and pop tarts, and let's get into this beautiful mess.
A quick overview of the plot, Leave The World Behind is based on the 2020 novel by the same name, which follows this well to do white family of the Sandford’s, Amanda, Clay, Rose and Archie, as they plan a spontaneous weekend getaway in Long Island. Terror sets in when all of their tablets, cellphones, and wi-fi go out… and they have to talk to each other NOOOOOOO However any white woman’s worst fears happen when not only do Black people show up to their house, but they’re rich too The owners of the house, GH Scott and his daughter Ruth, return home because of strange blackouts in the city, and felt it would be safer in the suburbs.
The two families basically walk on eggshells avoiding the obvious racial differences along with the growing concerns of the unknown. Why is the internet out, what’s the deal with the emergency alert, the deer, well they’re acting strange, again will Ross and Rachel end up together, why is someone blasting Skrillex in 2023, and this mofo’s teeth are falling out. Remember to drink milk kids!
Now all of this craziness leads them to GH’s contractor neighbor looking for medicine, but after a quick conversation GH’s biggest fears are confirmed. Earlier in the movie he disclosed a story about one of his financial clients dealing in defense contracts moving large sums of money out of nowhere, with GH joking about him meeting with his evil cabal of pals that run the world. Usually reciprocated with laughter from his client, all he received was a cold calm response of “Take care of yourself”. Obviously a little freaky, as he remembers one of the military operations that scared the bejesus out of his same client.

yes. the black and white art work that kept changes is similar to back in the 1980's prior to cable. at midnight the tv stations would go off air and the tv screen would turn black & white with a static noise. Just like the last photo art in this movie and then these characters in this movie would hear a loud static noise in the air.
This seems to represent the connection to the outside world is cut off just like when the tv stations cut off the feed for the night cutting off citizens to the outside world via their tv's.
black and white also represents the free mason CULT. you see their evil sinister black and white checker board all throughout this movie including the son's bathing suit.

I did notice one thing. At the beginning of the movie, the Julia Roberts character mentions that Rose acts younger than her age. I think this is an oblique reference to the effects that Covid-induced social isolation might have had on children during critical stages of development.

I'm surprised you didn't pick up on the "666" message in the opening scene. Also, the black and white painting, which changes three times in the film, from four black shapes (symbolizing the family of 4 in the house at the beginning). Then it changes to a more chaotic mix of black and white the further down the rabbit hole the movie becomes. Many people hated the ending. I am not one of them. However, movies live this, and the one coming out next year, called "Civil War", are indeed a preconditioning of the masses, for what's to come.

I agree with you. Preconditioning for sure. A few high profile people have said a big cyber attack is on the way (WEF). The blue symbolism of 'safety' throughout the film could represent the blue party which Biden (aka Obama propping him up - who has a big influence in this film) cant go without a mention. Red 'danger' symbolism which represents Trump may point towards what will happen if the US goes that way again. Last time the deep state had a dummy spit, they threw a pandemic at us, it's not a massive leap to see them do something like this. Adding the millions of despicable's flooding over your southern border, better stock up on some ammo and beans.

Losing teeth in dreams is often symbolic of permanent change. There’s no looking back. It cannot be undone. Once we have our adult teeth, if we lose them, without expensive dentistry, we remain toothless. If you’re young then it can be a blow to your self esteem regarding your attractiveness, if you’re old you might not be able to eat which is required to survive.

My thoughts on the ending: Rose symbolizes GenZ and could care less about the real world, family or anything else. She didn't run back to the house when she found the bunker, she only cares about her friends fix, media is more important than real life.
Thank you for all the Mr. Robot references, this is definitely the same world and this is probably the story about what leads up to and after the nuke plant blows, most obvious is the girls name is Rose and she is white, I caught that one but none of the others.
The deer symbolize, as you state, the environment telling us something is wrong with the world and only Genz listens.
In the scene with Kevin Bacon, i thought it was an odd choice for Charles to pull a gun to get what he wanted? Is this a commentary on current life?
All in all found it slow and kind of choppy the dialog was not that great, but maybe that is the whole point of it after all, it is a damming commentary on the modern family, where media is more important than anything your family has to say. People sure don't think for themselves much, just regurgitate what ever they see or watch. Ask someone about how they can fix their favorite football team and they will give you a 30 min dissertation on all the issues, ask how we can fix the problems in our Gov. and their eyes glaze over, and tell you to just drink a beer and leave the world behind.

Also they all missed certain moments where the media showed a message. That msg that came aftoss ehe screen while rose was in the basement. The 76 I saw was the opening seen where there was a 76ers basketball mug next to two alarm clocks showing 6:30am on both sides of the bed revealing a 666. A lot of hidden civil war and slavery hidden gems all through out the movie. The historic pictures on the wall downstairs were had civil war pictures too. The upper floor bed looked like a view from the top of a ship while the bottom floor looked like the view from the belly of a wooden ship. The white lion oil tanker name comes from a 1619 slave ship. So the basement might symbolize the belly of a slave ship possibly.

You have produced a thorough and most engrossing analysis of this bizarre movie. To say that you are an observant critic would be an understatement. Just three things you might want to correct: 1) “Coup d’etat” is pronounced “coo-detah” and not “coodatay”; 2) The “Spanish lady” on the highway was not from Spain but most likely from Mexico or Central or South America; 3) you used “infer” when you meant “imply” when explaining the food products on the shelves in the bunker pantry. These are small things, to be sure, but your video is of such high quality that it couldn’t hurt to make it even better.

Archie's illness is from the bug bite, not the cyber attack, or 5G, or windmills. It's very illustrative since, even though the director clearly shows the bug bite is the cause by using a closeup of the incident and having Archie be the only one to get ill, so many people prefer to lean into all kinds of conspiracy theories about the cause. There's a lesson there.

What I actually don't like was at the beginning when Julia said "I hate people", acted like she doesn't want to see people anymore... She was so suspicious and mean...but her job was everything about relationships?!😂..but I like the fact, that the owner of the house let them stay in his house, moved into the basement, helped the family and in the end asked Ethan " I do need to know if I can trust you.." He was friendly and openminded... profound thoughts about black and white...
This other thought of the story: "Humanity is the problem for this world" is actually evil...

I'm 70 yrs old and no movie has ever scared me so much, not Jaws, not The Exorcist nor Alien because to me, it is a 'when' not 'if' situation - and it doesn't have to be a hostile cyber attack, though that's a possibility we are warned WILL happen, but a solar mass ejection of the magnitude of the 1859 Carrington event would knock out technology globally. My interpretation of the ending is when the world about you is falling apart, you seek solace in the familiar - and the family were following her bike trail, so yes, they'd find the bunker, they'd been told about it.

A lot of people are missing the point of this movie! Yes it is predictive programming!
In this movie a crisis is unfolding and several things are converging at one time (racial tensions, Tesla cars going crazy (AI issues), and bucks showing up at the house (first a lot of them and later almost none). We see the whole theme of the movie and its meaning on the advertisement image for the movie -the image with four people, the road with buck far behind and the city in the distant background.
After the cyber attack (which affects everything including the banking system), the family is left counting their dollars in their hand (bucks in their yard) and at this point they still have a lot of them. In the end they "Leave the World Behind" and you see only one buck left standing in the background with the city further behind. It is not safe to live in the city and they have no more bucks. They can't live as they did before simply purchasing anything they needed on a daily basis.
The predictive programming is that we are going to be having a cyber attack on this country and not surprisingly we are already having cyber attacks on our banking system now. The Department of Defense (DOD) is already warning about this happening.
This week and last week there have been cyber attacks on the banking system in certain states and infrastructure attacks on water systems and next possibly electric grid attacks. These are the current warnings our government has been giving. These cyber attack stories are in the news and this movie predicts that these cyber attacks will become so wide-spread that most Americans will find it difficult to live their normal "American" lives. The storm is coming (as displayed in the movie with the sea-storm pictures behind Julia Roberts in her bedroom) and this movie is all about the soon coming cyber attacks (storm) that will cripple this country.
The title of this movie is all you need to know (and the advertising visual) to understand the entire theme of this movie. We are Leaving the World (and Bucks = Dollars) Behind. Eventually it will result in societal breakdown and war (nuclear attacks), on our own country.
This movie could have been written and directed by the Obamas in much darker tones with everyone dying because of societal breakdown.
Turn to Jesus Christ and pray about preparing for this crisis ahead. It's coming.

I just wanted to state that I've watched quite a few reviews on this film alteady, and it's pretty interesting and confusing as to how many different opinions are formed! Someone mentioned it was a demonic and evil movie, and shouldn't be watched! Another youtuber says it's about the pursuit of inter racial relationships between blacks and whites, and the list goes on! We seem to be truly like snow flakes! Very nuanced and locked into our own mindsets and realities! No wonder we all can't be on the same page, thus explaining the turmoil and chaos going on in the world! Wars, pollution, homelessness, greed, and far too many other issues that are too numerous to mention!
Bottom line, I enjoyed your take on this film! Take care and have a good one!

@@JBuckStudios the Oil tanker was named after a slave ship, and it hits the beach in the same bay as the slaver ship did … also, the movie is either trying to make a crescent 🌙 with the sun and earth.. then it turns red… whoever wrote it, doesn’t know any about rural America.. I do know that

Ali is the only redeeming character in the film. I continued watching to see him.

You call it the best-worst film of the year, but I don't recall you stating why it may be the best-WORST film...you break it down really well and I really liked how you caught SO many little things that really give the theme (which seemed a bit flimsy upon 1 watch) much more context and stability. I didn't get the deer at all, and what you have said here helps, though I still think it was unnecessary, a red herring to allude at a different problem or ending. You did not mention the plane crashes which is odd, though I suppose they are little more than the tragic result of a massive EMP, and only in the film for shock value. Overall, you make the sound far more interesting than the movie I watched, making me consider watching it again with these things in mind. Thanks!

The worst aspect is the depressing realism
