    You may have seen the video trend going around with people sharing the dumbest purchases in their 20's. And I thought this was such a great idea to do a spinoff on and create a video talking about the DUMBEST blogging mistakes I've ever made. Because trust me... there's been a few. Some of these things happened well over 2 years ago, and one of them even happened just a few months ago. So I'm still learning. I'm not perfect! And I have accepted each of these business mistakes as lessons that I had to learn. Hopefully, this will help you to avoid making these mistakes in your blogging journey :)

    Sharing quotes without attribution or tagging - no way, right? I should go right back into my Twitter and Tumblr history, because I used to do that. The thing is that most of my friends do just right click on posts and share them on their Facebook profile pages. But, once you become a content creator, with a blogging/social media presence, that is totally not a thing to do. Cringe. I think that's actually yet another cool thing about Pinterest. You can legitimately share other people's content, because it automatically links back to the source. 💝

      For people outside of the content creation world, I think it's normal! You don't really think about having to give someone credit when you see a photo you like or a quote that's inspiring. You just share it! But I learned my lesson and I'm glad I did. Content creators have their work stolen and used all the time and it's sad. But I agree with your comment about Pinterest! It's great that it's connected to the source and people pinning don't really have to think about it.

    Thanks for sharing. I really appreciate it. Question: I got the following message after analylzing my site; [Add "Allow: .css" to your robots.txt or allow the blocked CSS files to be analyzed.]; I don't have a clue where to go and do that; Aslo, the no-follow links..Any suggestions on how I am to take care of these situations. Thanks for your much appreciated help/suggestions.

      Ohhh good question! Whenever I have an error code pop up the first thing I do is google it. Most of the time I can find the answer there. And if I can't, then I'll head to a forum for my theme because that sometimes causes the problem. For that specific error message, I've never seen it before and I'm not a website developer so I don't even know where to direct you to fix it! For any problems with your links, I like to use the Broken Link Checker plugin. That catches if there are any broken links or other problems and can help you solve them. I hope that was helpful!!

    Okay! A little confused here. I have a website with wordpress.com and I paid yearly hosting provided by them. Is there something wrong with their hosting. Super Confused :(

    • @CathrinManning
      @CathrinManning  4 года назад

      No there is nothing wrong with their hosting! You just get more options with Wordpress.org compared to Wordpress.com

    As far as the quotes. I use other people quotes but I create my own graphics for them to better fit my brand look and always include their name.. I thoughts that was how you gave credit.. Am I wrong?

    So in other words.. Use Wix or Squarespace for your website host.. Thats what I got out of this video lol. I hear soooo many people try to convince me to use wordpress and these same people are constantly having issues with their own sites and honestly they rarely have a aesthetically pleasing site. I never have these types of issues with Wix and it's so easy to manage.. Just my 2 cents
