    Hi Ana . Love your cactus garden. In the back yard. In your cactus garden. You have a bush there. Have you ever considered removing that bush and expanding your garden?Have a blessed day.

      Hahaha. I’ve been contemplating on removing that bush for 2 years now. My husband likes it (don’t know why) 🙄 But now that you mentioned it again, I may just try convincing him one more time to let me use the space. 😉

    My paper spine cactus is in a raised flower bed and when segments drop, I stick them in the ground. It’s inevitable that they lose pads but as they mature they get stronger and fatter.

    • @CactusCaffeine

      Raised beds is a good idea! I just want to maintain height so I could at least get them to flower.

    Amazing how cacti recover from extreme heat, not so long ago a lot of these looked very stressed. I think that big Trichocereus may be a pasacana (atacamensis) rather that terscheckii, still a larger grower so either clear smaller ones from around it or put it in a pot before its too big to move.

    • @OfftoShambala
      @OfftoShambala 3 месяца назад

      I can’t recall if it was on Ana’s channel, but it has been observed that certain varieties of cactus can live in colder regions, outdoors around and they end up getting better blooms… I’m pretty sure it was on this channel. I’m wondering if the stress of dehydration has some benefits too… if the cactus doesn’t pass on… like a workout… probably strengthening it somehow, but also adding to its beauty too… once it’s had a chance to rehab.

      Holy guacamole if it is an atacamensis! Yes, definitely not the right spot for it. I am seriously considering moving it. Thank you for the recommendation.

    I only have a few cacti but have quite a few succulents including a few kinds of aloe and Jade. I keep them all inside since they would freeze here in the North East. All my plants are under grow lights, even the ones that are near my windows. I hope for some buds to show soon.
    I am planning on purchasing some new cacti and other succulents in the spring.

    Do you have a preferred place you get your pots from?

    • @CactusCaffeine
      @CactusCaffeine  3 месяца назад +2

      Wherever they are sold at a cheaper price! Lol. I feel guilty sometimes buying a pot more expensive than the cactus itself. So I try to find discounted pots. If I had the money, I’d rather buy a plant. 😉

    What do you do with the casualties? Do you make them part of the soil? Like compost or fertilizer?

    • @CactusCaffeine
      @CactusCaffeine  3 месяца назад +1

      Not the dead cactus. I discard them because if they died due to sickness or pest, I don’t want it to contaminate my other healthy plants.

    • @scorpnz4433
      @scorpnz4433 3 месяца назад

      Ana's climate makes it slow growing for her.My guess would be four-five years old for the age of the blue torch. Pretty sure she's done a vid on it so you could do a vid search for it unless it's a different one
