This song came on the radio this morning as I drove through Starbucks. The guy at the server window smiled and started bobbing his head to the music and said, "Bruce!". He couldn't have been more than 22 years old. That's when you know you're timeless: you have staying power from someone like me at age 65, and from someone in their 20's. 😊

Went to my 50th high school reunion last week. I put my athletic accomplishments behind me a long time ago. I can't believe how many people remembered those things I did in high school. It made me think about those days since then. I found out that one of my records in track was broken recently. Didn't know I held it for 48 years. I guess I can be proud of what I did now. Seems everyone else was.

You must have been a real "mover-n-shaker" (or held a very high seat at the "Cool-People'sTable" during lunch hour) in high school if so many people remembered you and your accomplishments so many years later. Me? I got booed at my ten year reunion....After coming up on stage, or in front of everyone to accept some prize I won. (No shit--I had no idea I was that unpopular... Will never go back to another one....Reunion, that is).....Though restraining orders have kept me away from, like "Booger,"** combing high schools for girlfriends....I especially liked "hunting" for girlfriends at the private all girl Catholic schools, even though I went to a public school--the uniforms those girls wore got me more "hot-n-bothered" than the cheerleading outfits that the girls at my school wore---except when they did those kicks, and twirled around so their skirts gave me a quick look at their little red "Victoria's Secrets" they wore. Unfortunately "Mercy High School in San Francisco has closed 😭😭😭
**Must see, or be familiar with, an early 80's movie called Revenge Of The Nerds to get this reference .

What matters is who you are now. Anyone can have a good start, but very few have a great finish. I was a likable young man, but nothing exceptional. Came to realize that the lives of most of my peers are very dull and with few real accomplishments. Stopped caring a long time ago. Now I am focused on serving others, as well as putting God first in everything I do.

I skipped Work to go, It was the best gig I had ever been to, the band gave it everything there was to give...
At Wembley Stadium my life changed forever. I didn't know what to expect and I only knew the Born In The USA album but this was my first stadium gig and at the age of 19 I had never witnessed anything like it and being surrounded by people who knew all the words to all these songs, I remember Bruce coming out singing one song, obviously later I knew it as Independence Day, then I was taken on a Rock'N'Roll journey for 4 hours that blew my mind, talk about glory daaaaays

But given what I know NOW, I could REALLY make like King Croesus thousands of years ago and Cassanova some time later, if I could be in my mid 20's in the late 1970's to early 1980's, and I wouldn't even HAVE to remember what team won what Super Bowl to be successful, or even when Bill Gates first made Microsoft stock available for public trading...Of course some of my "success" would be based on criminal behavior. But I would like to think I would be like Robin Hood and give SOME back to the poor.... But that might come much later, AFTER I'm done partying with "Hef" at the Mansion and banging more than one Playmate in the "Grotto".🤣🤣

Adolescence isn't as enjoyable as the biased, selective, memory of adolescence. The character portrayed in the video is from Jersey, where heavy equipment operators are unionized. He's got a wife, a real home, two sons he obviously adores, and to whom he is passing the tradition of baseball. You know how many people would love to have the monotony of that life?
He's an old jock, who didn't know the odds were 1 in 890,000 of playing one day in the majors. He should be happy with his lousy job that pay's $80,000-$100,000, embrace his blessings, and thank God he's fortunate enough to be a family man.

I never did that, but I know plenty that have or do. Since I retired have gone back to traveling the world, places I saw years ago and new places. Sadly, as you say youth is wasted on the young. I am into photography and am simply no longer able to do those long hikes into nowhere or climb the 1000 steps to the Buddha statue.

The past 20 months have been tough. I think I may have depression, but this song is like a cure. It gets me in a good mood, it gets my spirits up. It motivates me to go out and live the glory days while I am still young.

I have depression too it’s part of my bipolar but I never really had any friends since I was different but I’m sure when I get more into my 20s I’ll make some friends and we’ll all have a kick ass time have a huge bonfire with some beer with glory days blasting on the car radio

I'm 40 and glory days will never end, regardless. I'm truly inspired by someone who I play basketball with at the age of 64 years young. He can't miss if he wanted to and I match him EVERY time. As a generation X'er. Thank you for the hardwork and dedication by the Boomers and the Greatest generation. I'm truly committed by passing the torch.

44 years old. Beautiful and sad song at the same time. And if you make the effort to stop comparing with others (which is harder in days of social and job internet networks), these may be your Glory Days.
Still trying and trying in April/20.

I was super poor in the 90's and still had the time of my life. Didn't need money to live it up when I was a kid! Never went skiing in Vail, but I learned that you cannot make wings and fly off a roof.
