Great video. I've been paying quarterly for ages I may upgrade to annually didn't realise there was such a big discount. I actually get a stipend of L$500 per week but I think that's due to the fact I've been on a while and they changed the pricing structure or something and if you had joined early on the stipend didn't change. Didn't realise there were upgrades for the homes, that's a nice touch. I do wish full sims were cheaper though I'd buy one in a heartbeat.
Hey! Ahhh you're one of the lucky ones who kept the $L500 per week, that is the dream!! Yeah there are so many upgrades for the homes, they make such a difference. Totally agree about full sims, I'd love one but can't justify paying for one (just yet!).
This is exactly why I got premium plus. Over about a year and a half I was busy, distracted, doing other things and I kept having to log on and pay rent to the Chungs for a home and a store, unless I wanted to lose all of it. Even though I wasn't motivated to do anything with either of those things. Then, suddenly, I actually felt like being around in Second Life, and I decided once and for all, I was moving everything to mainland, getting premium and building my own house on a linden lot. Now, if I disappear for 6 months, I don't have to worry about some landlord coming onto my store and returning random items COUGH COUGH freakin Chungs
I think going Premium is a great idea. I think people that do should pay yearly. It is cheaper and less hassle. I do wish LL offer premium members more stuff. I looked and in the US monthly is only $11.99. Crazy you have to pay more.
Hey! That's really interesting. We have to pay 20% extra on sims (if we buy from Linden Lab), so I wonder if that is the same for premium. Is annual still $99? :)
Heyyy! Chelsea here. I'm surprised to see my name there. :o Glad to see you uploading again! :3 Premium sounds great! Right now, we don't need a home and rarely buy lindens so we're skipping it for now, but we might get it once we've decided to start our pregnancy journey in SL (Imagine having a baby without it!). Some suggestions for future videos: 1. Your top favorite furniture and decor shops 2. What other things do you often do on SL, aside from grid drives? 3. Visiting hotels/resorts? 4. Thanks, I have premium! Love hopping around and decorating different homes. I have been on SL 11 years. I love seeing your videos. I got an add on but I have a problem with changing colors in the rooms. I think at one time you could click each room to be a different color but I think that option is gone now? My add on I can change the color inside to match. I love the addons! Hugs
Just about to upgrade to P+, it's only about £6 a year more expensive than my current SL rent but with over £100 of L$ a year too and other benefits. Your house is beautiful!
I usually buy two premiums, let go of my Linden homes and buy land instead. The 600L a week stipend (from two accounts) helps me to not overspend. I don't have to use my credit card at all the entire year since rent is paid for, and the stipend is enough for me to live on comfortably. If I didn't go that route, I'd end of spending hundreds more a year
I had no idea about all these benefits of a premium accounts! Thanks for explaining it all. I have been in SL for 16 years. Never thought to getting a premium account as I'm a sim owner and could not see any advantage paying LL more $$$, But I think that I'll look into this maybe try it for a least a year and see what, if any, advantages there are for me.
Another benefit of premium - is the ability to buy land on mainland. I buy and sell aloe of land in SL. Premium is a must for me. I agree with all your points and calculations you made in your video. Spot on! Annual premium fees is the cheapest option. Thanks 🙏
@@castillogaming2691 yes it is - for me atleast - I buy and sell a lot of mainland - but only moderate and general category lands. I buy from LL auction and scout for abandoned land. Then sell at a reasonable price. There are some crazy prices lands for sale out there. I monitor a few and some are sitting for months unsold for the hefty prices. I sell about 20-30 plots ranging from 1024 to 8192 every month. For me it’s not a business but more a hobby of buying and selling land. Negotiating and making a sale. The beauty of SL is you can do anything you want as far as your imagination will take you.
Great video ty! I wonder when they will be rolling out Premium Plus and what the will entail. I have always had Premium and I pay yearly for it, always have. I also receive a $500L stipend per week...I think that is a big perk. The housing has come a long way and although I rent a parcel with my hubbie...I do love my stilt home. I would love the option to rent out my home...weekly/monthly...it would give newcomers a chance to experience that or give some residents a mini vacation 😂
Hey Alexxy - I didn't even know Premium Plus was an upcoming thing, so you have taught me something new! Love your ideas of the renting out the home (although SL forums seem to hate the idea!), and lucky you for still having the $L500/week!
I don’t have premium. I breed cats inworld so a home with 351 prim is not enough for me. I like my cats to roam around so a bigger piece of land is needed for that. Therefor I rent a quarter of a sim and sinds that is expensive i don’t want to pay even more by getting premium. I love your video’s by the way, it’s very usefull, i learn a lot from them.👍👍👌👌
Hey Monique, I’m glad you’re finding the videos useful! I totally get why you don’t have premium, the plot would definitely not be big enough for that, the cats would be demented! 🤣
TBH I'd get Premium just so I can jump into full sims to me that is a huge selling point, ESP if you attend to various events. . . . Though this is only worth it if you actively run into fully populized sims. before the gacha ban. Gacha event's would be full during the first few days on launch. having Premium makes a huge difference since you had a lead on the market and could sell the gachas for profit. Since non premium members couldn't tp to the event some would just go to the MP and buy the rare or whatever. To me Gachas were a huge selling point for content creators and for LL too. Since resellers would sometimes sell an item for 800L$+ on the MP just for a rare due to the RNG drop rate. And LL would always get a cut of that. There really isn't a reason to have premium just to bypass full sims. IMO unless you know that you are actively going to a full sim at least 3 times a month. Then I guess maybe it would be worth it in that regards. I do know that you're only allowed to have 1 Animesh object equipped to your avatar. 2 if you have premium. Again not really a big of an upgrade. Sign-up bonus of 1k but you only get that if you have an active 45 day premium membership. That's nice but it basically means you need to sign up for quarterly. To qualify. At least to my knowledge. I would say that Quarterly is worth it, Annually not so much. At least to me. Since you never know. You may be in the mood to log in for a few weeks. Then get burned out and go on a hiatus. Something may happen "Good or bad" and that you may not be around Secondlife To me November and December and part's of January is holiday family time for me at least. And well I'd use up whatever premium I have left. And just not renew it during that time period. To me premium is situational. Do you like your linden home land? and do you not want to lose that? then go for Annually, set money aside and keep that land as long as you want. Do you need a temporary escape and to get situated and if you decide that you wish to take a break from SL then perhaps go for quarterly especially if you are known to be online rarely due to RL / Work / etc.
This video helps me a lot to make a decision about premium, but, May you solved a question? The Houses it's full decorate or do I have to decorade room by room?
Hey! At the moment I genuinely don't see the point in premium plus, I don't feel like the additional benefits are worth paying that much. If I change my mind, I will definitely make a video on it 😸
@@castillogaming2691 Regarding Full Sims, Is always cheaper to rent from a Landlord, and here is why, before comments start poping - because we are not paying the 23% tax above monthly LL fees, we are not paying monthly premium and we are not paying a massive initial setup fee... Plus, you can start renting a full region by just paying the first week and than pay along the way, weekly or even daily, as money comes along...
