I Put the Grizzco Splatana Into Side Order

- I decided to try adding the grizzco splatana into side order, and while I was at it I also changed the special weapon for the kit to zipcaster. This combination was way stronger than I expected, and it was an absolute blast to play with. Despite having a few glaring disadvantages to other weapons, it more than made up for them in other departments once I figured out how to use it properly.

I'm not sure zipcaster really work with the design of these stage, especially the flat ones

Honestly wished for inkjet and putting it on eights palette since it's probably the special most associated with them from octo expansion, then give agent 4 triple splashdown, since the inkling shown off as agent 4 is also the one to show off splashdown (then give like big man trizooka ig)
Well clearly we see why it wasn’t included. The color chips literally break the special! 😂
I used to hate the Grizzco Splatana's lunge, but then I learned to understand it - the Grizzco Splatana's lunge stops for no-one. If you make contact with an enemy, you will slide past it. The Grizzco Splatana's lunge will always last for exactly as long as it intends to. It cannot be cut short. You must space yourself to accommodate its demands. Once you start to do this, you become unstoppable. It's so satisfying to walk up to a Griller, splatana in half, and cleave it clean in twain.

3:00 all splatanas have an ink beam, so the reason it spawns there is so that the grizzco splatana doesnt have an ink beam, like it doesnt in salmon
so when you attack, the “beam” goes straight to the floor
Zipcaster has the auto-return feature so you can't use it to go out of bounds in multiplayer matches. Nice to see it also works in side order.

Now I can see why they didn’t add zip caster. As the special gauge depleting is linked to the ink consumption, although passive ink recovery is still off, the multiple support chips with it would’ve make the rest of the specials useless
pretty sure they could have just made it timer based or even do what it does in multiplayer: it drains ink constantly even if you do nothing.
That main point though, it would probably need to be adjusted because ink-gaining buffs might conflict with it. But every other special has a timer, and it something they could have easily applied.
And because you can attack smollusk

This was the coolest and the most epic side order run that i've so far and I've seen a lot of different runs

To put the damage into perspective, base grizzco splatana tana does 2k damage. However, if you somehow max rush attack damage or 500% damage, the horizontal slash will deal 10k dmg. Compare that to the whirling accelerando(spinny top guys), whose shell deals the most damage normally, has 9.6k dmg normally. And then the charge attack deals a casual *60k damage* with max rush attack chips.

I’d love to see you try an Explosher with Inkjet and maximum Splash Radius/Damage, just cause constant detonation from far away
I would love to see grizzco dualies that atrack primarily with dodge rolls. Splash radius and damage, as well as mobile ink recovery. Rush attack for good measure.
Honestly, i think you should try a zipcaster run with a bunch of splash damage/range and of course the mobile ink recharge
dynamo roller would be peak comedy. imagine that with increased attack speed.

Depending what you overlay the split over depends probably on its bias chips. I would love to see it with range and power.
I kind of want to see Sloshing Machine (or the Grizzco Slosher) just to see what damage type its indirects are. If Blaster’s anything to go by it won’t be using plain ink damage but I also can’t see it making sense as any other damage type in Side Order.

Honestly, I think you should maybe put a semi automatic weapon into side order. Would honestly be the most different weapon in there.

I just realized that rush attack is contact damage, and main damage is the damage of the projectiles
Maybe you could try doing a video where you put every special in side order to see what would happen? Also you could try putting main range on the Grizzco Splatana, or Extra Dodge Roll on the Grizzco Dualies???

14:39 it wasn't, this is just a feature of zipcaster (and inkjet): hitting any kill plane instantly ends the special and jumps you back to safety
Zipcaster and Ink jet would’ve been fun for side order
I main inkbrush (though I probably shouldn't) and would have loved if they put it into the game to mess around with really speed. Unless you have other plans, I think it would be fun to mess around with.
kinda weird how they used the basic one for some but different for others like how it is luna blaster and octobruah, but charger is just splatcharger and normal splat roller, i want variety!
Run Idea: Use Eight's pallette and try to fill it out with copies of only one chip (max firing speed, max ink damage, etc.)

Idea. You should make a habit of taking these super overpowered weapons to the smollusk fight that gives you all the chips just to see how stupid they can get

14:12 Ah, so that's why Nintendo didn't add zipcaster to Side Order... and the "shadow demon" is bc you're doing something which the game doesn't allow in side order, but since it is allowed in the normal main game modes (turf, Anarchy, etc.) the game code gets confused and thinks it isn't there, but the character model (you) exists and since the special is in the game code, it ends up looking like that.
Dude you already have a great amount of damage...
You should have gone for Range Ships obviously, since that's the OBVIOUS weakness of the splatana. Hearing you complain about range and hitblock (aka splash range) was just unbearable and so infuriating. Do another Grizz splatana run but FOR THE LOVE OF GOD focus on range.
If you're gonna go for grizzco Dualies, then focus on:
- Ink saver (main)
- Extra Dodge Roll (the grizzco dualies can roll up to 9 times uninterrupted so imagine if you add even MORE to them)
- Dodge Roll Attack
- Splash Radius (when you dodgeroll you produce a BIG splash which could splat Jelletons)
My Secondary recommendations:
- Main Firing Speed
- Splat Ink recovery
- Main Range
- Mobile Ink Recovery
