I'm Japanese, but I was in elementary school when I watched the 1998 World Cup match between Jamaica and Japan. I remember being very disappointed. But now that I think about it, Jamaica has a lot of great players to play in the Premier League and the difference in power is clear. The Japanese national team turned the regrets of this time into power and became the driving force to advance to the best 16 three times. I want to revenge in Jamaica someday on the stage of the World Cup. I hope Jamaica will return to the World Cup stage again.
I am confident in japan this world cup
Still watching in 2018 and getting the same wave of emotions 🇯🇲🇯🇲
Addictiveone876 Azar bredda same thing ✊🏿
2022, we'll make it. Trust me.
see that's what i love about countries that don't always go to the world cup, they actually care
Especially since Jamaica in this game had already been eliminated. At the time, we were the smallest country ever to qualify. We don't have that record anymore, but we're still the smallest country ever to win a match at the World Cup finals.
@@ianstephenson9721 who is the smallest now?
@@chungarito7739 Iceland
@@ianstephenson9721 ah I see Iceland is a cool country but they don’t have the same ambience as the reggae boyz 🇯🇲🇯🇲
One of the best players Hull City had in the late 90s
Jesus loves you repent before its too late

Time is now
As soon as Whitmore leaves the coaching role, we will have a chance
Mobay yute tappa Salem yute one of Jamaica's best big up YUTE homage to shorty malcom and the rest of R.I.P.s on That team Peter cargill
And Winston Anglin too, many good players died in car accidents in Jamaica, I guess it's a rough terrain to drive a car. It's a waste, Whitmore could've died too, luckily he survived
No he wasn't from Salem
@@SubidubidubiDu1 glad you remember Winston anglin we play together for invaders in the premier he died the following year am glad i had the chance to play with such a talented player R.I.P twinny bug

Neva qualify
Legend 🎖🇯🇲🔥🔥🔥🔥
Japan 🇯🇵 even had to respect ✊ it, then Whitmore when Japan a few months after the WC victory the Japanese media went crazy just see all the media house in japan wanted to talk to him, that one the reason why I respect the Japanese, even though they lost they match they still show respect to the opponent, and after France 98 the Japanese made there business to be at every WC from there on out, so u see Japan learn a lot from their lost at France98 and now they are a powerhouse in football In Asia and up their with most the top footballing country. After France98 also improved but not at the level the way japan improve.
my hero. hull city was my club and theo was my man
Great Experience being there for the win!
Good for you sir. Must have been incredible
Bruh imagine Leon Bailey & Raheem Sterling playing for Jamaica together 🥶😭😭😭😭😭😭

Gran jugador leyenda en jamaica
It was the best time in JA a mi fi tell yo!
The biggest problem with Jamaicans is that they are still stuck in 1998. They be like: "Oh mon, wi don our part fi dem people, dat's noff, wi not gwanna do a bumbaclot ting' bout it anymoar star, Jah know". Jamaica should strive to get back on the track, I wanna see the fan and national euphoria similar to 1998 again, not eternal sadness and giving up, a change of mentality, that's all they need
@Alexander Sterling that was Patois for fun, i am not Jamaican
"Eternal sadness...giving up...change of mentality...." let's not forget that these same Jamaicans produce world conquering track athletes year in year out. Let's put some respek on their name.
GOAL🇯🇲
The Reggae Boyz also influenced the game to Black Americans....at that time..alot of ppl who had a misunderstanding about who plays the sport and when ppl found out Jamaica were there it sparked an interest in black viewers...who were curious about the game and still watch today because of the '98 Reggae Boyz
All now we cant find bck a whitmore muchless a 98 squad
True, heart not there, big up to the 98 squad, we always have talent but the heart and brain not there.
Here from goal cup 🇯🇲 2021
🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🔥
We never go nowhere yet
🇯🇲
Not with tappa as a coach
Sadly i dont see Jamaica qualifying to Russia and Qatar, they have lost that power and CONCACAF is getting really strong (USA,México and Costa Rica will top the round robin)
+José María Gonzaléz If World Cup expanded to 40 they would have a chance
United states is out of world cup
And you’re right 😂🤦🏽♂️ I hope we make it in 2026 🤞🏽
Usa 2026 I see them qualifying Mexico Canada Jamaica. Jamaica is tied with Costa Rica for fourth
Lol the one in the glasses at 0:29 look like the crooked cop from third world cop movie can't remember him name
His name is not nice
The Brazilian team was the weakest teams in the World Cup the previous failures and guide the powerful German team and deserved to win Bhdarh
You represent the country you and steven malcolm from montego bay and as a coach Jermaine tuffy Anderson national premiere league top goal scorer for so many times couldn't be a part of your national program all because of your personal issues from seba United days Theodore Whitmore you corrupt longtime am not taking away your France 98 achievements however you need to put personal issues aside as a coach that is very unprofessional only in Jamaica i repeat only in Jamaica i see a top scorer can't make his country national team
Jesus loves you repent before its too late
Great player terrible coach
