johnnyplatis he literally said the best team he has SEEN in HIS life, and then the other guy said definitely ONE OF THE best. No one says 1974 wasn't the best.
Yeah and in 2002 they sucked, because they didn't even qualify for the World Cup that year! But they are still remembered for their great performance in 1998 and that's a great achievement.
Dennis Bergkamp was an tremendous player of his playing time, terrific goal scoring ability and agility in the penalty box made him different with others.Specially his goal against Argentina was a spectacular view of football.
SO much talent and beautiful football. Berkamp was one of my favorite players. Pure genious. '98 will always be in my heart 'cause Croatia won the Bronze in our first World Cup, but beside Croatia, my favorite team was Holland. I think since '94, but this team in '98 was something else. And what a World Cup...France, Holland, Italy, Germany, Brazil, Croatia, Argentina...SO many great teams. For me, Netherland/Holland playied the best football. Even tho we lost against France in semi finals 1-2 with only 2 goals from Thuram in his whole career for France and we won the Bronze against Netherland 2-1...I still think they were ina many ways the beat team on that World Cup. Loved your football and those players back then. My heart was broken when we lost semi finals against France and of course I was extatic when we won the Bronze against Netherland, but our goal keeper Ladić was at his apsolute best in that game. It's shame that you didn't do more or a lot more with that team in those years. France became super power with Zidane, Henry ect., but penalties....you lost against Brasil on penalties, but if I'am corect...you lost Euro 2000. on penalties too. Home coart, playied amazing again and then again game that you lost by missing one in game and them few of them in penalty shootout. Shame. It's like you just missed something...something to get on the top and then after that stay on the top for few more years. Always played ISS PRO with Netherland on playstation 1 and 2 back in the day :) Much respect from Croatia. Berkamp is one in a life time player
"Taffarel then saved Frank de Boer's penalty" No, he didn't. Frank de Boer already scored his penalty. It was Frank's brother, Ronald de Boer, wearing the number 7 jersey, who missed that penalty.
I was 9. I will never forget this team. Never. Oh and Brazil's team was superb also... If someone mentions Ronaldo, I will always think of the Brazilian Ronaldo. They also had a great keeper. But van der Sar will be my favorite, forever.
That Holland vs Argentina game was the stuff of World Cup legend. The game had everything. That goal from Dennis Bergkamp still gives me chills to this day!!!
This team was so deserving for the title... Never in the past 30 years have they been more deserving, even more than in '88 when they won european cup.
I grew up in holland and have dutch passport I can tell you that the loss against Italy 2000 is the one that really hurts people including my self you should see how the country is during tournaments I been in few countries during tournaments but holland is just different everything is about the team and the tournament I mean everything I love holland and the national team and hope to see them lifting a cup European or a world cup in my lifetime I'm 36 right now let's hope they do
Wish the dutch players of today would be as fanatic as those legends back then.. because its just crappy too know there are overpayed football players in our national team these days that arent a team individual morons. Missing these good old days even if they didnt win but atleast they tried their best!
I can remember similar comments about the 90s team. They had these memorable peaks, but they also had absolutley lousy periods. I remember dreadful slow games in which there were mainly throw ins.
Van der Sar and Simeone cracked me up. First you had Simeone rolling around like a tire and Van der Sar not only going down after a "headbutt" by Ortega but also doing that freaky little dance after the Dutch defeated Argentina.
Yup. Yet some people only see Someone's rolling. Still, Ortega was a fucktard for giving Van der Sar the chance to fool the ref. Up to that moment, the Dutch were just trying to save a tie and go to extra time. They weren't as great as some remember.
That Holland team was so good. So unlucky to lose to Brazil on pens in the semis. Also lost in Euro 2000 semis on pens. Bergkamp, Kluivert, Overmars, Seedorf, Davids, De Boer brothers, Van Der Car, Stam. What a team.
I feel bad for that. My team is actually Germany, so one of the Netherlands' biggest rivals, but I really think the Dutch should win a World Cup. I think they should have won once in the 70's and they had a great chance in 2010. In 2014, I think they should have been in the final (although I think Germany still would have won).
TheLordoftheRavens I'm dutch and I want to win the world cup after we were going out against Argentina I really hope you were going to win the world cup (2014) 2018 is our year
Jurjen Flikkema I think the Netherlands has a great chance in 2018. Just look at all the great young players that were already so successful this time around. Just imagine how good they will be with four more years of experience in the primes of their careers. Too bad Robben, Sneijder, and van Persie will be old though.
For me it's the best team we have had in the last 2 decades, 2010 team comes a close 2nd but 98 was so full of ace with several key players from the 95 Ajax team. This team should have won the WC,.. stupid penalties.
Netherland's and Brazil's teams of 1998 i will never forget. Those two teams were the best teams. For me the best football was played around this time. In knew every player even the substitutes. Many worldstars and players with character in both teams. It was truly Joga Bonito!
I'll never forget the '98 World Cup. I was nine. Holland were my favourite team. Just that orange kit, it was so beautiful, Bergkamp was my favourite player. I was devastated when they lost and again in Euro 2000.
Even in this last mundial, i thought they outplayed Argentina but flamed out on kicks. Holland really has a semi-final curse... would've loved to see oranje v mannschaft
I was 14 at the time. The funny thing is I that remember all of the players names better then the players from today. I ges when you are young things have a bigger impact on you.
Achteraf gezien, was dit onze beste team aller tijden. Wat een ongelofelijke mix van puur talent en atletisch vermogen! Zo hebben we het nooit gehad en het gaat ook nooit meer komen..
+kaito kid Sorry kid, brush up on your history. The '74 and '78 Holland squad would have blown this one out of the water. So take heart - by the time the next worldcup comes along, Holland will be one of the contenders again.
+Stijn Groot the thing is; kaito kid said "this is the best Dutch team ever" ; and my point is that it just isn't; because they did not change the way the game could be played.
I was nine then, the first WC I ever experienced consciously.. That's probably why it's still my favourite Dutch team, with Overmars, Kluivert and Bergkamp. But also the other players. Zidane, Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Barthez.. God, what a great tournament it was!
For a country with a population of less than 20 million people at most they've given the world SO many great players, and great teams, consistently. It's extraordinary. Just the influence of Cruyff alone changed the way football is played today. Mad respect for Holland, I hope they win a WC someday, it would be well deserved.
bergkamp was the creative genius behind holland 98 n arsenal98, 03 invincibles. but alas, IF he had won the 2 most prestigious cups with those teams respectively, he'd be an untouchable GOAT. but then again, as hiddink said -" IF, doesnt count in football".
THE GREAT FORGOTTEN DUTCH TEAM OF 1998.... This title is so apt because until I click on the link, I really had forgotten just how good this team was. As it says in the video, player for player it was as good as the 1974 Dutch team and probably as good [if not better than] than any squad in the world at that time. In the video I couldn't find any players that I don't know or admire. So I did the Litmus test, and of the 22 Dutch players that went to France 98, I could name 21 of the 22 and I could even tell you what clubs they were playing for at the time. Dam!!! I don't think I could say that about any other squad at France 98 or at any other world cup tournament before or since.
This team played the best football Holland has ever performed. The 2014 team hasn't even got half the class of the 98 squad. Watching the missed penalties against Brasil still hurts, but 2010 made up a lot :)
The dutch 98 WC team changed everything for me. I never really cared for football until watching Bergkamp's goal live against Argentina. That goal inspired me to become a huge football fan and in particular a Holland fan. That summer my buddy told me that a lot of dutch players play for Barca. Started watching them and been a Netherlands and Barca fan since then.
Holland vs France 1998 would have been a much better Final. France kicked the crap out of Brazil :) But Holland in my opnion would have matched up better with France. Holland should have won the semi and should have won 2010 also.
There is an article saying that Thiery Henry at that time prefer Brazil than Holland as he was affraid of holland football philosophy.... I can share this artcle but it is in Bahasa Indonesia
Based on the final in 2010 neither Spain or Netherlands deserved to win that final, both teams displayed their most frustrating style of playing... they were really scared of each other. And in 1998 they should've been in the final for sure, that was an amazing team... one of the best teams in a WC ever.
In 2010, there were three good teams: Spain, the Netherlands, and Germany. Sure, Uruguay and Brazil and some others were not terrible, but these three were the ones who should have won the most. I personally think any of the three were fitting winners, although I was cheering for Germany, my team. Spain played a very boring (yet effective) style of football, while Germany and the Netherlands focused on dazzling offense. Spain won because good defense usually beats good offense. An exception to this is the 2014 World Cup, when the world's best offense won, or in 2002, when Brazil (the best offense of the tournament) won.
I remember how afraid I was was at the prospect of facing holland in the final. As a french man I am sorry to all the dutch out there but I was happy when brazil won as I knew we could win against them. What this video doesnt show is how good this dutch midifeld and possession was. They were so accurate and fast. when they played, you expected them to trash their opponent. Good memories
Euro 2000 was their tournament? I'm English and I remember watching it when I was 10 oh man they should of won just unlucky tbh! They played good football even though they didn't win they will be remembered unlike the Dutch team of 2010 they played gash and dirty football and they made it to the final
The 1998 team was the most complete Dutch team after the 70s Cruyff years. Although i loved very much the Van Basten , Gullit years as well. The 1998 team should have won that years world cup and i believe they would have if they had met France in the final.
Bergkamp, Kluivert, Cocu, De Boer twins, Overmars, Seedorf, Davids, Stam, Van der Saar. The amount of talent makes me thankful to have witnessed that era of Holland.
One of the best teams ever, Overmars and Bergkamp played so well together, that combination had to be one of the best goals in world cup history. Not mentioning Davids, Kluivert, Jaap Stam and the great Clarence Seedorf - greatness, and yes 1998 - the last really good world cup!
I still remember this match so well... I was devastated... I remember that before the match began, we got to see a highlights video on dutch television, it was Ronaldo vs Bergkamp, the number 9's, highlights. I loved it.
Our team was literally stacked with absolute worlclass players.. the whole starting 11 was playing at europes best clubs. Having bergkamp and kluivert as your strikers….that’s a crime honestly.
YES! How was dirty dennis not sent off?? It was right in front of the lino and no call. Sinisa had to leave the game. I was at the QF and SF matches in Marseilles. I was hoping to see Jugoslavija. Serbia got cheated this World Cup when no penalty was called for wrestling Mitrovic to the ground. Srecno Serbija in the future. Brate from Greece.
I would say it was The Dream Team of Dutch 1998 when u got kluivert, bergkamp, overmars, seedorf, davids, de Boer brothers, cocu, zenden, bogarde, winter, stam, reiziger, van hooijdonk, jimmy floyd hasselbaink, jonk, numan, van der sar etc..
But as usual the king of cheaters VARsil get the advantage from FIFA refrees in tournaments. They even needs cheats to win recent Copa America in 2019 at home against Argentina. That's VARsil!
They were lucky to get past Yugoslavia. Berkamp should have been sent off for stomping on Mihajlovic' chest. It happened near the corner flag right next to the lino. No call from the refs, Mihajlovic had to leave the game and dirty dennis got away with it again. If Holland won that game, Berkamp would have been suspended and would not have scored against Argentina. I was at the QF and SF games.
What are you talking about? Netherlands could have like 3 players sent off on that match and also Brazil had a penalty that wasn't marked with a tackle from behind by Frank de Boer
+Michael white I was about to write that myself although I did expect people who had watched this video before me to have noticed considering Frank is left footed and a different number.
No. It was TAFFAREL who saved it. De Boer took a good penalty, he didn't 'miss'. It was a strong hit, on target, away from the keeper. TAFFAREL saved it!
Holland were amongst the best team during several tournaments. Not just 98. Euro in Portugal, they lost in the semis and were amongst the favorites as well and were great. Huge talent from a small nation.
Holland should of won the 1998 world cup, it was by far the best and most talented team. but i go on and on. Holland also should of won the euro's in 2000 etc etc.
Ron Ghoul how they should've won it when in three games in a row they lucked out on three last minute goals, then got outplayed by croatia for 3rd place. Brazil and Croatia are the teams that should feel sorry for not going all the way...
Borna Knežević Croatia's debut in thr WC as well damn, but The Netherlands didn't really bothered to become 3rd. Brazil though, unlucky that Ronaldo couldn't play the whole match against France
Great team we had back in those days. So much pure class. We had een exceptional amount of world class strikers around that time. All players used to play for elite teams. For me this is the best team I have ever seen from the Netherlands. In 2010 we had a couple of class but nothing like this. In 2014 we had a good team but nothing special. But 98 and 2000 we had a whole lot of class players in their prime. Such a shame we missed an opportunity to get ourselves some silverware.
If you think about it the matches between Holland and Brazil at world cups have been really exiting matches. Especially '74, 94, and '98. It's nice to see that we as such a small country can go toe to toe with in my eyes the greatest Football nation on the planet.
+Mr.Shade I think 1of your neighbors went more than toe to toe with "the greatest football nation on the planet" in 2014 lol and so did you in the 3rd place playoff. 10 goals conceded by Brazil in those 2 games alone and just 1 pathetic consolation goal from them.
The great team and will always support Holland.Finish 2 in 2010 and wish the young generation to grap this world cup 2014...Support from Mauritus island...love u Holland
That was the last great Dutch team in 1998, although i'd have to say i liked the 1988 team better. That's not to take away from the 2010 World cup team of Robben, Sneijder, and Kuyt but i think Bergkamp,Kluivert, De Boer's , Davids were more talented.
Joep Corbeek Not to take anything away from the 1988 team, but to say Robben was better, but not Sneijder and Kuyt, is nonsense! First of all, Robben may be incredibly talented, he also doesn't see his fellow players in the field enough. Sneijder is definitely a multi talent with an incredible decision speed, and always finding the offensive solution, which is a rare gift. Kuyt may not be a technical genius, but with his incredible effort and drive he would have been an asset for any team.
Definitely one of the strongest team at the world cup. So much quality . World players like Dennis Bergkamp, Jaap Stam and Marc Overmars. Talented players from Ajax 1995 like Patrick Kluivert ,Seedorf and Edgar Davids. It was really a pity that they missed the final like that.... On the other hand we played against top class Ronaldo and Rivaldo....
i remember this time, time when football filled with lot of talent and star, you can see from all the 32 teams starting lineup, argentina had batistuta, jugoslavia mijatovic, dutch bergkamp, brazil ronaldo, germany klinsman, romania hagi, denmark laudrup brothers, england super owen.... all of these legend was played in the same world cup.. oh memories, I'm grateful that i had witnessed such an event in my childhood....
I'll always remember this team lol the first World Cup and football/soccer match I ever watched was the 3rd place match between the dutch and the croatians.
I fell in love with this Dutch team. In that tournament we change from Brazilian to Dutch. They were perfectly symmetrical. The entire left side was left footed from stopper to attacker. And cocu was my player of the tournament. He played every position except goal keeper.
Netherlands, the king without a crown.

I watched this as a little kid, best dutch team i have seen in my life.
Definately not forgotten for me.
Driss Gouriach one of the best. I think the team that lost to Spain was a lot better.
Cymbhal Music you are obviously too young, guys. No team can be compared to the 1974 team. None.
johnnyplatis he literally said the best team he has SEEN in HIS life, and then the other guy said definitely ONE OF THE best. No one says 1974 wasn't the best.
ikbenyoutuber pleb thanks for clarifying.
@@johnnyplatis that was the best team ever
Dennis Bergkamp will never be forgotten! Dutch Pride!
The Dennis Bergkamp Goal was beautiful. I will never forget it.
Dennis Bergkamp is one of the most underrated legends of football.
Who forgot this team? It's always in the discussion of best team that failed to win the cup.
Yeah and in 2002 they sucked, because they didn't even qualify for the World Cup that year! But they are still remembered for their great performance in 1998 and that's a great achievement.
I agree.
1998 team couldn't touch the 70s teams.
Apostoli but I mean those guys....
Apostoli the 78 team couldn’t touch the ‘88 team
Holland deserve at least one cup!
yes. i pity them
at least one
You only win, when you score one more goal than your opponent, hehehe
Holland should have 2 World Cups and 2 Euro Cups (1988 & 2000)
we have one, euro 1988.
I always love and support Holland and my desire is to see them winning the Euro cup or the World cup ! Love you Dutch !
As a matter of fact, The Dutch had never won the world cup.....( no offense)
I mostly like Brazil, But i like holland too!
Nihan Rahman but we have come 2nd the most
Yeah, but i seriously hope holland will win a world cup...
I think Germany got 2nd most.
The Great Netherlands of 1998.....!!!!! i remember this team like yesterday!!! Respect from Greece!!!
"Taffarel then saved Frank de Boer's penalty"
No, he didn't. Frank de Boer already scored his penalty. It was Frank's brother, Ronald de Boer, wearing the number 7 jersey, who missed that penalty.
Exactly, I guess the narrator or the script writer couldn't tell the difference between twins brother.
@Superpiair1 In fact, Frank de Boer even missed TWICE. One in regular time and one during the shoot out against Italy.
Ikr..Freudian slip i guess
To add to the differences, Frank was left footed while Ronald was right footed.
I was 9. I will never forget this team. Never. Oh and Brazil's team was superb also... If someone mentions Ronaldo, I will always think of the Brazilian Ronaldo. They also had a great keeper. But van der Sar will be my favorite, forever.
Zinedine Zidane's team was the best
1974 Holland best national ever.
187onaPigeon - if you haven' t thought of cristiano ronaldo. why you would say Brazilian ronaldo.???
2002/2006 brazilian team was the best
Yes only Ronaldo fenomeno buy in dreams only. Cristiano Ronaldo is the best in the history of football
That Holland vs Argentina game was the stuff of World Cup legend. The game had everything. That goal from Dennis Bergkamp still gives me chills to this day!!!
Can somebody tell me what Van der Sar is doing at 4;47 ??! hahahaha
Ben Jansen Making sweet love
Humping the air
riding a horse
Ben P. They Won that match
So he was Practicing
Cause
BOI GONNA GET LAID !
visualizing virtuosity(he could see whats coming tonight)
This team was so deserving for the title... Never in the past 30 years have they been more deserving, even more than in '88 when they won european cup.
Euro 2000 was their tournament to win, but they still ended up in the semis
micglou 2010 should have beat spain
2014 should of been in final, but defeated in penalty kick by argentina
Christian John Michael Tambun the 70's was a overconfident team, Holland should have been world champions in 2010
lospaisas original 2010 was the only time they diddnt deserve it. They played horrible
Forgotten ? never... Dennis Bergkamp was an AMAZING player , the best creative , skillfull and intelligent striker i have ever seen on the game.
I´m brazilian but i love Netherlands!
I hear you. Brazil vs. Netherlands is always a fixture to look forward to in every World Cup
I love them also because they fucked spain's asses with a 6-1 victory
5-1
The Netherlands are one of the few teams that can regularly Brazil in World Cups, the only other team I can think of is France.
Foi um time bom na época os paises baixos...mas agora os néerlandeses tem dificultades pro qualificações da copa do mundo 2018
Bergkamp was blessed with all the capabilities required to be a top quality playmaker back in the day.
I grew up in holland and have dutch passport I can tell you that the loss against Italy 2000 is the one that really hurts people including my self you should see how the country is during tournaments I been in few countries during tournaments but holland is just different everything is about the team and the tournament I mean everything I love holland and the national team and hope to see them lifting a cup European or a world cup in my lifetime I'm 36 right now let's hope they do
Half of that team now works at Ajax :) Frank de boer, Dennis Bergkamp, Edwin van der Sar, Marc Overmars and Jaap Stam
Ronald de boer ook hoor
This World Cup had plenty of great teams. The Netherlands, France, England, Argentina, Brazil, Croatia. Such an awesome age for football.
@Napoléon Bonaparte I understand your hatred towards England Napoleon, but they really had great players.
Netherlands had by far best team but had problems black white players.
Wish the dutch players of today would be as fanatic as those legends back then.. because its just crappy too know there are overpayed football players in our national team these days that arent a team individual morons. Missing these good old days even if they didnt win but atleast they tried their best!
Almost the very same squad were individual morons in the European Cup 1996. Players will always be individual morons without proper coaching.
je reactie van 5 jaar geleden en kijk wat er nu weer aankomt is toch niet normaal eigenlijk.. de jong, de ligt, bergwijn, van dyk etc etc
Yeah, Cheesy loose hips LOL
Please show us leg Nigeria movies now
True football fans never forgot them! What a team!
Not forgotten. The goal by Dennis Bergkamp (4:18) is one of the best moments I always remember from world cup history.
the netherlands; 17 participations @ World Cup
10x in the best 4
0x the cup... :(
I feel bad for that.
The Netherlands have qualified for 10 world cups and reached the semis 5 times.
3 final
For me it's the best team we have had in the last 2 decades, 2010 team comes a close 2nd but 98 was so full of ace with several key players from the 95 Ajax team. This team should have won the WC,.. stupid penalties.
Mark FSR 1998-2000 team was also better than 1988-1992 team
they failed to qualify the 2002 WC, they arent better than 1988 team
At the time I thouth that of that semi final (brazil x Netherlands) would come out the world Champions...
Zidane show me that I was way wrong
Mark FSR Taffarel was a monster on that penalties
Taffarel mith, best goalkeeper of ALL time
Mark FSR i mostly agree. but the 2010 team does not come close! oranges and apples, so to speak.
Netherland's and Brazil's teams of 1998 i will never forget. Those two teams were the best teams. For me the best football was played around this time. In knew every player even the substitutes. Many worldstars and players with character in both teams. It was truly Joga Bonito!
Oh Dennis Bergkamp a footballing god that is not spoken about enough! 🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿
True
3:54 legend has it that he is still rolling
So many here fevered with our great dutch neighbours...
Danke, Niederlande !
Gern gemacht
+kaito kid Sorry kid, brush up on your history. The '74 and '78 Holland squad would have blown this one out of the water. So take heart - by the time the next worldcup comes along, Holland will be one of the contenders again.
+Stijn Groot the thing is; kaito kid said "this is the best Dutch team ever" ; and my point is that it just isn't; because they did not change the way the game could be played.
1988 Van Basten,Gullit Rijkaard,Koeman? Het team van 1974 is wereldberoemd ondanks nederlaag in de finale.
honey bozo 78 team was far worse than this.
So much for that!
Both Holland and Argentina had phenomenal players in their squad, superstars galore, if these players were around today they would win the WC
I was secretly in love with bergkamp when I was 10.
BeyondthePage
What i just wrote!!
That was Ronald De Boer who missed the penalty.
+nafat1 correct, Frank did NOT miss his penalty.... well they do look similiar but still hard to accept someone can do that misstake.
John Bryntze Frank is a lefty , thats how you recognize them
True.. without the left foot Dennis Bergkamp wouldn't had score one of the most beautiful goals I ever seen against Argentine... just magical.
that should be common knowledge
John Bryntze right foot...3 touches...all right foot
Netherland deserved 2010 world cup 🏆...Arjen Robben,Robin van persie, Wesley sneijder,Dirk kuyt... ♥️What a team ❤️
This team played the best football Holland has ever performed. The 2014 team hasn't even got half the class of the 98 squad.
Watching the missed penalties against Brasil still hurts, but 2010 made up a lot :)
the best dutch team was probably the 1992 team. but arrogance played a role than.
Nah 1974 was the best Dutch team
Still, the 2014 team got a 3rd place while the 1998 one got a 4th.
The Bergkamp goal was beautiful, but let's give some credit to deBoer for making a picture perfect pass.
*****
No worries :) Yeah my english isn't the basic frenchie type :P I have been living in australia since 2003. And I am also australian nowadays :P
this great team was never forgotten FIFA !!!! cet equipe magnifique ne s est jamais oublié FIFA
Euro 2000 was their tournament? I'm English and I remember watching it when I was 10 oh man they should of won just unlucky tbh! They played good football even though they didn't win they will be remembered unlike the Dutch team of 2010 they played gash and dirty football and they made it to the final
"If doesn't count in football"
Historical words from a real wise man.
I loved it.
7:16 it was Ronald de Boer, not Frank de Boer. Ronald is right-footed, Frank is left-footed.
aaaaaaaaaaaaadriaan I'm also right-footed but I always take penalties with my left
im always take a penalty with both foot, in a same time
It was Ronald. Look it up.
Our team was literally stacked with absolute worlclass players.. the whole starting 11 was playing at europes best clubs.
Having bergkamp and kluivert as your strikers….that’s a crime honestly.
4:47 showing off some technique there!
Brazil vs Netherlands, 1994 and 1998: 2 of the best games ever.
As 9 year kid cheering for Yugoslavia, I will never forget that penalty miss :( Neither 2 years later loss from same team 6-1.
I will never forget loss against Croatia :P
Seriously tho, that was awesome team,so many great players
I'll never forget Dennis Bergkamp stomping over Siniša Mihajlović. Oh, and that Mijatović's penalty still hurts...
This team has never been forgotten.
Against Brasil the Dutch deserved a penalty in extra time.
yeah that had a smell of matchfixing around it. The ref was an unknown of small country.
WHAT WOOW
TheVangbal true
Brazil deserved a penalty in the regular time with that tackle from behind by De boer
But as usual the king of cheaters VARsil get the advantage from FIFA refrees in tournaments. They even needs cheats to win recent Copa America in 2019 at home against Argentina. That's VARsil!
that certainly was a great team, unlucky. But fifa wanted Brazil v France final lets face it
They were lucky to get past Yugoslavia.
Was actually Ronald de boer who missed the last penalty
Yes
+Michael white I was about to write that myself although I did expect people who had watched this video before me to have noticed considering Frank is left footed and a different number.
and it was wrong that they say the holland is going home after this match. Actually they still had to play the 3rd place game vs Croatia
In 94 they were the strongest opposition to brazil on their way to the cup
WHY DO THEY NEVER SHOW THE NOT GIVEN PENALTY IN THE SEMI FINAL.. That was what cost us the tournament a ref who didnt dare to give the penal...
You guys still lost 3-1 to Italy a penalty wouldn't make that much of a difference
Memes ONLY You mean Brazil. The Netherlands lost to Brazil in the Semifinal not italy.
@Kanye West oh ok. Thank u for replying.
Brazil though, unlucky that Ronaldo couldn't play the whole match against France
they will never be forgotten. i will always remember beating them for third place and bronze medal for Croatia!!!!!!!!
Wow, Dennis Bergkamp!!! Win this cup my dutch friends :D Greetings from Venezuela.
Dennis Bergkamp was an amazing player
And there was a lotta bear cum.
My Dutch Uncle, Uncle Guus! What a legend this guy is at the World Cup! He needs to be in the World Cup All Time Hall of Fame
If you think about it the matches between Holland and Brazil at world cups have been really exiting matches. Especially '74, 94, and '98. It's nice to see that we as such a small country can go toe to toe with in my eyes the greatest Football nation on the planet.
+Mr.Shade
I think 1of your neighbors went more than toe to toe with "the greatest football nation on the planet" in 2014 lol and so did you in the 3rd place playoff. 10 goals conceded by Brazil in those 2 games alone and just 1 pathetic consolation goal from them.
Mr.Shade Uruguay is smaller than the Netherlands and has beaten Brazil in their own soil, in a WC final.
Robben is better but Sneijder and kuyt not
we can all say that Brazil VS Holland in that semi final is one of the best match in all the World Cup.
edited
Their Euro 2000 team looked very strong. Also they were playing at home so they really should've won that one.
Joep Corbeek
Not to take anything away from the 1988 team, but to say Robben was better, but not Sneijder and Kuyt, is nonsense!
This team didn't deserve to lose.
i remember this time, time when football filled with lot of talent and star, you can see from all the 32 teams starting lineup, argentina had batistuta, jugoslavia mijatovic, dutch bergkamp, brazil ronaldo, germany klinsman, romania hagi, denmark laudrup brothers, england super owen.... all of these legend was played in the same world cup.. oh memories, I'm grateful that i had witnessed such an event in my childhood....
I'll always remember this team lol the first World Cup and football/soccer match I ever watched was the 3rd place match between the dutch and the croatians.
Nothing brings more national pride in peacetime other than the World Cup - the greatest event in sports history.
Dat mustache on Hiddink lol
His strength. Holland won Eurocup 88 due to their glorious moustaches.
And, what is not mentioned in this video, at the end the great Duch team was defeated by great Croatian team: Šuker, Boban, Prosinečki, Jarni
I always liked to see the Dutch squad playing. They're very good!
I fell in love with this Dutch team. In that tournament we change from Brazilian to Dutch. They were perfectly symmetrical. The entire left side was left footed from stopper to attacker. And cocu was my player of the tournament. He played every position except goal keeper.
What happened to the part when they lost against Croatia in the battle for the third place?
Netherlands did not care about third place.
5:28 Robben bombing in world cup clutches since 1998
