This style of dance is so different from her usual idol-style dancing. It's extremely difficult to learn something completely unlike what you know. Different posture, different shoes, different everything really. At the start of this video, I was thinking 'Oh no, you need to fix your neck position,' and then the teacher did just that and she even commented on it. When I watched the performance at ISAC, it seemed like she really didn't want to be there, even though it was obvious how hard she had worked on the performance. I don't know if they volunteer for the events at ISAC or if they are told what to do by their management. Maybe a mixture of the two. I thought she did a fantastic job, well beyond what any judges' marks show. Judging is completely subjective anyway, and I wouldn't have placed the eventual winner in first place. Seeing this video explains a lot for sure. Working long hours on ballroom dance in addition to an already-packed schedule truly shows her dedication to performing. I've been a signfan for only a month, and in that short time I've been impressed by Jeewon's talent and performances. Always smiling and acknowledging the audience even when her in-ears fly out or when she has to do a ballroom dance. In a crowded idol industry, Jeewon and cignature stand out as something special and joyful. I can just relax and enjoy, even though my current life situation is unbearable most of the time. Thank you Jeewon for all you do!
