Aww thank you so much for being here and watching!! I opened that rocker Barbie and she was new in the box, I could imagine how as a child it must’ve been, because as an adult I was in awe of how cool she looked. And I’m sure, as a child I would’ve been shook by how fabulous she is!

I wanted Barbie and the Rockers so bad when I was in Kindergarten, when I didn’t get it it was like my first heartbreak :) I know I could buy her now but I don’t have the same taste as I did when I was 6. BUT that fashion pack I can totally get behind. I bought an out of the box Fancy Frills for my daughter’s pregnant Midge per her request , a 1991 version with purple and green florals. The quality of old Barbie clothes is amazing
Aww that’s a shame! But at least you’re still around loving Barbie! This fashion is so pretty, I was always taken by it. I’m gonna put it on the first version of rockers Barbie too. It’s so campy! I love vintage Barbie clothes, there’s so much variety. There’s your fantasy outfits and more realistic ones. The detail work is incredible usually. Something lost in today’s Barbie fashions.

In the new video I’m doing a section of it with me coloring my drawing, so it’s like a test to see how it goes. This fashion to me reminds me of a number of things. For one it reminds me of Matilda’s mom. And it reminds me of Cyndi Lauper too. I think this fashion is so rock n roll so Pat Benatar is on the money!
I L💚VE Barbie and the R🩷ckers! Unfortunately, I never experienced playing with them because in 1985 86 I was 16 and 17. 😢 However I LOVE them because I feel they represent me as a teenager in the 80s. I own 1985 Barbie and Diva and 1986 Dee Dee! They’re one of my favorite Barbie lines. I don’t collect Ken 😝 but I’m seriously thinking about getting the Ken from the 1986 line. He looks super cool and glam in his silver outfit!!!! Reminds me of one of the guys from Duran Duran!🤟
Aww I feel that way about some of the 2000s Barbie’s, because I wasn’t interested in them, as I was more interested in vintage. And now those great dolls that I could’ve bonded with are gone and expensive now lol. But Barbie is so much fun, she’s a time capsule! You can look back at them and totally see the times for which she was made. I can look at some from even 2013 and be like floored because of how well they represent the tacky fashion of the time, and I recall loving the fashion then, and looking back now I’m like “I wore that”lol. I was SO lucky to get my Barbie and the rockers dolls when they were still cheap. I have 3 of the 1985 Barbie, 1 of the 1986, and Derek, and a mint in the box Ken. Who is still in the box because I’m afraid of how the outfit will react to being touched since the pants are like a pleather. But she’s so cool! I think I may unbox him anywho. And worst case scenario I can remake is pants!
