This is our Roots music. There is no show, entertainment, or pretense. It's feels good to my soul.

what I love about this song is that it speaks to the soul, to me this song speaks of a man or woman who made a decision to serve God and to leave the pleasures of sin behind. It is almost like she declared before the people that I crossed over into holiness and I'm glad about it. I'm a young man and this song it stirred me to focus on the real focus, and that is getting the heart aligned with God. This song will make you be at peace with your enemies. I love this song it goes beyond surface of just plain music.

I've never seen so many church mothers and saints in one video shot. You know everyone of them can make the best Sunday dinner with collard greens and macaroni and cheese with sweet ice tea.

We still sing this song at the church I Pastor. We ought not get to comfortable in this life of pleasure for someday the death angel will be dispatched with your name and mine and whether we like it or not we all must cross that separating line.

What does the denomination have to do with anything. The only requirement God gave us is that to be Holy even as He is Holy. Come Ye out from among them says the Lord

Hi Hymnchoir, I've seen comments for this video regarding people lusting to leave this earth. Isn't this a very old song that was sung, originally, by people in a very bad place? I mean slaves or an era shortly thereafter. I can understand why those people were glad to reach that separating line.

Many of the songs like this were actually composed after slavery during or after reconstruction. There are a lot of songs that have not been documented ,but were indeed composed post slavery in black communities and churches.

Hello Gary, don't know if you still listen to this type of gospel or not but if you do ,with all the crazy stuff going on now in the country, the world, hopefully you now see why we still sang these songs. Now come so far but still haven't went anywhere.

@Gary Wood this song for the most part ment that for slaves back then, but she might have saw that song as she was glad that she left the sinful earthly world and took on a heavenly mind and is glad is is saved and sanctified and is separated of the evil world. Set Apart.
