You ever think how funny it'd be to go back into time and replacing somebody's mario with this and stickin behind a couch to see the reaction? And then afterwards when they run off to get their parents you replace it with the normal one so no one believes them.
A lot more of a traditional ROM. Could have a couple tweaks to be a bit more effective. Shorter render distance, for one. My main complaint is the text at the end. Should've just had no dialogue or text so that more is left to the imagination.
I kinda disagree. The shorter render distance would help with creating a more eerie atmosphere, but I like the ending text. Leaving it blank would make it seem incomplete. Reader's interpretation only gets so far, and it could lead to some unintentionally non-scary moments.
I agree having no text at the end would have been better. Having the text pop up with the background music kinda just pulled me out of it and made me think of those cliche creepypasta stories instead of actually scaring me. But eh that's just my opinion.

Edit: Thinking about it, it would make sense cause then you complete the objective LEAVE but let me know if thats a hoax lol Plus it would explain even if you make it to the top you still loose. The timer isn't counting down for a race. Its counting down the time you have left to leave ... or else lol

It lacks objects and obstacles thus creating only an open space with the recycled imagery from the beginning of the game. I've seen more dynamic hacks, I am passing this one. Keep in mind this is just an opinion just like in 2007. There is room for improvement. Kuro despite being arrogant has better hacks.
