Hello, This is a Downface song. I am a member of Downface. We wrote and recorded a couple albums in Madison Wisconsin in the late 90's over a couple weekends. We didn't have much money to spend on recording. It was fun and we had some local sucess. Played some great shows with some great bands. Hope you like the song.
thank you for sharing. My son passed away 8 yrs ago and he too introduced me to the "grunge" scene. Today would have been his 32nd birthday and I thank you for this gift.
I'm truly sorry about your son im 3000 miles away from my children and pretty much lost on them strained relationship for sure wish I knew what to say to them unbelievable I was part of everyday life and went to their hockey games soccer games my daughter was a fantastic goal keeper and was definitely a style all her own she was constantly approached by managers from different cities wanting her to play for them I trying to understand how i lost them sad so sad
@bastkelly7849 And a man shall not know his brother,. Nor a son his father or his mother . Book of Enoch. Enoch returned 2017,the tribulations are almost over. I was also a good parent, separated because of a 13 year marriage gone suddenly wrong, I was displaced and our family torn apart. Now I watch as my kids raise thier kids and we hardly know each other anymore, 8hours away from each other. I was in thier lifes every single day, then not at all. Something I never imagined happening. Our Creator is coming any day now to make things right.

I'll let you guys in on a little secret. The reason why this song is so popularly miss attributed is because back in the day before the internet was the internet. There was a program called Napster and this song was on there but named wrong. And the file got spread and CD's were made because CD's back then were all you had. In fact, the only reason why I even know who Tool is because of this song and have been a Tool fan for decades now. I'm even a Downface fan but never knew this song was by them till many many years later. Cool world
Beauty in simplicity-That's what I love in grunge. The great bands:Nirvana AIC STP PJ and Soundgarden-They were always pure and true, even in the most sophisticated compositions they made.I miss them.Forever inside me.
It's amazing to see the 'four legends of rock' all together in the video, it's a reminder of what real grunge bands are and should still be.....well done Seattle for producing such gorgeous talented young men :o) RIP Layne Staley
its ironic after all these years and these pics in this vid.. the only one left alive is Eddie. im fucking heartbroken. hope someone is here is read this
I don't like the video for this song. This is about one person, and one person only. She wasn't pictured once that I saw. Can guarantee Layne would notice that.
It's kind of a shame that these 2 millions views will never be credited to Dowfnace. Seems like people need to have original titles in order for it to mean something. Grunge posers make comments on videos like Silverchair saying "Trying to hard to be Nirvana". You lame kids didn't get to enjoy this era of music like I did. Yea Nirvana is awesome, but there are so many other grunge artists out there that you just didn't have the time for because you were busy following some ridiculous fad. For Instance Future Leaders of the World will never get the credit they deserve even though they successfully made good grunge style music, and a lot of these posers would dig it because the vocalist has a voice like Layne, or Kurt, but the problem is that it's not a main name brand so to those who are too critical of music they miss out on bands like that never to know they even exist it's such a shame. The music industry nowadays is poison to the ears compared to real tunes like this.

@dundo17 Excellent investigation work, dundo17! A few years back I tried to find this song that I downloaded off Limewire, and there was no RUclips posting then. I found Pearl Jam and Alice In Chains together, and then Creed and Tool together (can you imagine such a collarboration? LOL), but no evidence other than lyrics. Finally I located the band Downface formed in Madison, WI in 1997. They released their first album "Confidence" in May of 1998. I still don't see them on Wikipedia!
Plain and simple this is an amazing song, Some no name band or whatever. It hits a cord in my heart and it is beautiful. Don't care if they "sing just like him" damn I wish more would sing just like him. He sat in a closet and sang AIC songs and he got it right. I wish everyone would sing just like him. I miss Layne's voice. I wish i could sing just like him.
says a lot about ed, that he's the person he is. just breathe quotes him as....i can count on both hands the ones i love... he loves. didn't self destruct. those were his comrades too. great vid.
This is a Downface song from the album Confidence (1998). Although the singer's voice is very Eddie sound-a-like, but it is not Eddie. It does not take away anything from the greatness of this song.
Its Jerry Cantrell and hes from Alice In Chains, Chris Cornell is from Soundgarden and Audioslave, which Audioslave is Rage Against The Machine minus Del La Rocha, with Cornell as Frontman. Love To Share the KNOWLEDGE!!!

those were his comrades too.
great vid.
one of the really best songs from grunge genre
This is a Downface song from the album Confidence (1998). Although the singer's voice is very Eddie sound-a-like, but it is not Eddie. It does not take away anything from the greatness of this song.
Cool song and side show. Thanks for sharing. I always wished I had a brother--your brother has good taste in music!
The band is called Downface...they're unsigned, U can look them up on myspace
Perfect!! viva el grunge!!

Still can't believe when Alice In Chains performed this and Black Hole Sun unplugged on November 18th, 1993. It was such a chilling performance. RIP Eddie Vedder
I love this song, is so human ...beautiful.
I love this response, you deserve all success for having humour and dignity :)
