- Thank you to Guitar George for lending me his Les Paul for this number!
The tone is as close as I could get. Billy Gibbons was probably using an overdrive or fuzz into a very small, very loud amp... which I don't have hahah. I tried to get close to that with enough gain to make it dirty when I dig in and a bit of my Jim Dunlop Fuzz for the lead lines. He also used a strat for some parts which I split the coils for to get a thinner sound. I hope you enjoyed it, please comment and tell me what you think!

RIP Dusty…😢
Had a nice blues feel to it bro. I love rock music but the blues
Is the heart of it all. Soul and blues are the ancestors of rock.
You have that inside of you for sure. May the spirits of the
forefathers of rock bring you full circle.

Couldn't agree more about rock's heritage... I love it all!
Love it! Outstanding! The guitar in this is just beyond the beyond. The epitome of rockin blues. And no one does shuffles better than ZZ Top. Great tune, great cover of amazing guitar solos.
Just teasing them out so accurately is an accomplishment. And now, you know about 8 killer blues licks that you can use in other stuff. That guitar part is so classic and so damn cool and you nailed it.
Have mercy!!!
Good stuff as always, keep it up!
Thanks man!
Cool !!!!!
It sounds great.
Congrats & thanks 4 sharing
Thank you for watching, glad you liked it!
Amazing you nailed it.
DUDE YOU ARE INCREDIBLE!
That means a lot for you to comment twice man, thank you!
Great job. Some good ideas here for a composite of both guitar parts, which I'm going to steal. Thanks!
Send me a link if you record it! I'd love to see it 🤘
Awesome
Outstanding Young Man!!!!!
Thank you very much Michael!
Another winner my young brother!!!!
Thanks man!
AWESOME!
Thank you!
Some good licks here
Thanks Chuck! Some of them are really tricky... but then again it is Billy Gibbons haha
cool, you have all the right little parts in there... we were playing the riff at the end of the verse wrong as you could confirm 🙂
Didn't realize there was a Strat on this recording. Figured he just used the neck pup for the 2nd half of that outro solo on an LP and backed down the volume a bit. No wonder it sounds so damn good on my Stratocaster when I play it. Awesome job on the recording and absolutely crushing the finer aspects of it. Well done!
awesome song
I love it, a personal favourite at the moment. The best version is this - ruclips.net/video/oriuVsN7heI/видео.html
Hey! What a grand replication! That’s gotta feel great to be able to do that. For some reason, this song popped into my head yesterday and I put it on to dance to it. Then I just found you. Anyway, I was struck by the pristine nature of your record collection. That’s an indicator of the dedication it took to replicate that guitar work. Bravo! (P.S.: I met Billy Gibbons around 15 years ago - or should I say I encountered him. He growled at me.)
Thank you very much for commenting Sandra and SO cool you managed to meet Billy! I am very glad you enjoyed my rendition though, I have lots more to come when I get the chance, so I hope you like the other stuff I covered and will do in the future. 😊
Keep up the hard work. You play with dedication. It`s not easy playing the blues. Especially with tone and taste. I noticed the early year LP`s in the background, Good place to start. If you want to challenge yourself to another genius level with Gibbons going way out there with greasy licks check out the RCA years. Good stuff. Thanks for sharing!
I absolutely love the stuff on RCA too! I try and put up my records which are appropriate to the release when I record. Sadly I have any RCA stuff in my collection because I haven't come across any yet! So glad you enjoyed it though, please check out my other videos if you get the chance. Plenty more awesome tunes and ZZ Top on my channel!
Cool man
Thanks, Jason!
Sounds damn good
Great job!
Thanks dude!
Good job!
Cheers Dan!

WICKED!
Yea, thats what I'm talkin Bout.
Glad you enjoyed it, dude!
Likin this too....
ALex me brother, I am digging the new ax!!! like silvery wine floating through space, gravity all nonsense now. Rock on!!!
Excellent description haha and yes it is a lovely guitar! I thanked my friend a lot for letting me borrow it.
@@AlexEardleyScott it's a reference from that old time movie A Clockwork Orange. You think RUclips will sensor it ; )
@@stkbkr1 oh of course it was! SO annoyed I missed that hahah
I think you grew up a little 😁 Nailed it
only a little haha Thanks dude. I hope you like my other recent videos too!
Fucken bad ass
You should do both guitar parts.
It gets a bit congested covering both over the one track I find. Plus I didn't have the right guitar for the other half. Hope you enjoyed it though!
@@AlexEardleyScott sure did
Diggin That.... Do you have any Rolling Stones in you portfolio ? like " Can't you hear me Knocking " or " Monkey Man " ?
I did a few stones covers but they might have been taken down. I might start working on some more soon but I have a lot going on at the moment and a long list of songs I am working on 🤘
Gibbons is the guitar.
I don't know what my friend named this guitar but The Reverend would be a cool name for a dirty slide guitar haha
do you learn your songs by ear?
I do yes. I try and find live videos of bands too and see what position they usually play songs in too, in case that helps me work out more chords or lead lines ☺️
「どうやってやるの?」、
That note is not F# it's a low E
which note? Type the time in if you can so I can make sure I get it right next time! Thanks for watching :)
@@AlexEardleyScott the last note at the turnaround. You can compare better by listening to the rhythm guitar during the solo. It's hard to catch. No biggie. Great job otherwise.
Nice job. But you need a hot chick doing the subtle rhythm fills.
This was just before they got the ladies, so this is period correct. My covers of legs that I have on my list however... 😂
