I lost my husband 16 years ago and have never really recovered from the grief. This song really hit home. I've tried dating again and have found some great guys. But I always break it off. I'm trying to replace my late husband and that won't ever happen. So I'm learning to love myself and go on with my life alone
@@AvisWrentmore Me Too! Great harmonizing!!! (Also listen to the words, she's telling a guy she wishes "I wish it could be you, I wanted it to be you... Great Song!
Exactly! I’m looking for the man I’ll never find! Lost my husb 9 years ago this past March and it’s so hard to find someone to fill that void in my heart! Letting go and moving on is hard even after 9 yrs! We were together a very long time and hopefully one day I will feel that kind of love with someone new! Love this song! ❤️😢
What a gorgeous piece of pure craftsmanship. Start to finish. The lyrics hit that note of deep disappointment better than a whole novel could. And that performance. Gorgeous. Makes it that much more heartbreaking when they get to the end.
Somehow these lyrics strike a nerve in anyone who’s ever had doubts about meeting their future partner….it adds to the self doubt we all seem to think about….I love the emotion……
I had never heard of them until I was in San Diego this past November and had the opportunity to see them live and wow. The synchronicity between the two of them is powerful to put in one word. Definitely a fan now
OK, here's the hater's comment: I am so sick of modern formulaic pop music. I hear the talent here, but seriously? This just sounds so generic to me. With the right production this could be a country song or a pop song or a pop-rock song. It's not bad, I'm not going to puke blood after listening to this song. It's just boring. Nice vocals but, meh.
That’s what I should have thought instead of my own, excuse me while I regurgitate (puke blood lol) what I believe is a better opinion, bc I don’t trust my own. So I’ll just spew it across the web and pretend like I won’t listen to this again but I will bc I secretly like it…a lot
Yeah... just try listening to the song... I listen to lot of good music from different Genres and decades... and THIS is a great Song... it's not superficial... it's deep... great melodies... great chorus... great voices... great lyrics... authentic emotions... try it again brother🙂
This song has such a 1970's mid ballad pop sound. That is what makes it unique because it is 2022. The whole purpose of the song is not to sound pop or country. Not being able to label a genre is just enjoying the Art. When I write music and record I do not write to a genre. I heard this on Austin City Limits and love both the Piano Version and regular version. Just my opinion.
If the music scene was less corporate like it was in the 20th century, this would have been a number one record for 52 weeks.

Don’t give up hope. Sometimes it happens when you least expect it. Believe me I know. In the meantime enjoy your life to the fullest 🎸
Ooooph....this hit hard. For me it will always be the one that got away. Sending so much your love your way.💜
Lucius are one of the most underrated bands out there.
They have played at Girls Just Wanna Weekend for the last 5 years and I love them.
Fell in love with this song after seeing them on the Kelly Clarkson show. Just wow!
Me too:) Ditto:)

"But I'm sorry , I was always looking for MY MAN, that I'll never find... I thought I knew when I looked you deadin the eye!" 😩 THAT LINE!
Once they hit that high note at the second half of the song I'm literally bursting in tears, direct impact with my soul!
Well, this’ll be stuck in my head forever now.

Loved their work with The War on Drugs and Roger Waters. Great sound on this one.
Lovely already
Love this song and this video

Love love love:)
Truth ❤
I bet Jess wrote this song after the divorce, you can notice that in her eyes. Beautiful song.
Dan apparently told Jess this was the best song she had ever written. Coming from the man she divorced, that's pretty cool.
❤❤❤
🙌
This is a riff from old British soul ballads of the 70s & 80s
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍🤗😘
🙏😥❤
I'd pay a lot of money to be that microphone.
☺
Wow so sad when related to the end of a love relationship... you desperately wish it would come back and be what it was, but you can't force love.
Рок ЖиВ !!!!!

This is veeeery far from modern formulaic pop music. Your ear might have accumulated too much wax.
Love your music. Beautiful! Never get tired of this awesome song. Duet is so on point! Enjoy y'all @austincitylimit and on the @thekellyclarksonshow
