He will be back in the Section 31 Series. And he can propably find a way to join them in the future if he really wants to (cryogenics? One way timeshift? Asking the Guardian of Forever?).

Season Three of "Star Trek: Discovery" feels very much like the very first season of a brand new show. Whereas, the first two seasons were on a clear path with being a direct prequel to the Original Series, this season makes the show no longer a prequel, bound by the limits of canon. "Discovery" can now be it's own thing. This season has all the earmarks of a first season. It's rough around the edges. It's more unpredictable. There is no clear path or villain to fight. Yes, there is a mystery, but the stakes are low (for the moment, at least). The show has been taking it's time to find it's footing this season, like the writers are trying to figure out what this show is after being established as a prequel for it's first two seasons. Plus the reception by critics is more mixed than the first two seasons. Understand, that this is not a knock on the current season, but a celebration of the writers & producers who had the courage to take the show into new territory & reinvent it. Although if it were up to me, the third season would have focused on Burham's first year in the 32nd century & how she survived with Book, then the fourth season would have been about her reuniting with "Discovery" & setting off to find Starfleet & what caused the Burn.

One of the biggest criticisms is that it put to much focus on Micheal and not enough on the crew as a whole and she was seen as something of a creators pet. So, focusing solely on Micheal for a whole season was not on the table as many were just tired of her by that point. Season 3 does seem to be more of an ensemble though it still feels like they're putting to much focus on Micheal IMO.
While Picard and Sisko are among the most important characters there are several episodes where they are given minor roles so other members of the crew and while Kirk always played a big part in TOS the show still gave attention to Spoke and McCoy and gave Kirk to role of supporting them. Hell, what is often considered the Real Finally of TOS, All Our Yesterdays, is more about Spoke and McCoy with Kirk spending most of the that episode lost in the past and saving him is treated as a secondary problem.
So, I'm glad that Discovery skipped over the year Micheal was in the future and that it's taken the time to focus just as much on the crew as her and not just for plot exposition like what we got in Season 1 and 2.

More work needs to be done toward reducing Burnham's emotional state, She was raised by Vulcans ,even Spock showed emotions but had better restraint. I wouldn't expect her to be coldly logical but not a giddy schoolgirl either

Spock had the benefit of at least being half Vulcan. Michael is fully Human, therefore probably doesn't have the ability to control her emotions to the capacity a normal Vulcan would via Kolinahr. But I agree, she cries way too easily, stubbing her toe on a bulkhead would probably make her cry!

she wasnt fully raised by vulcans tho? she spent the first few years of her life with human parents and then another few years in starfleet working alongside other humans

This is a prison break. Burnham and Book are more than just friends.

Well, technically crime syndicate-run labor camp, but same thing. As for Burnham and Book, I'm still amazed that they weren't doing it all over his ship during the year she was waiting for Discovery! Honestly, it's surprising that the whole crew hasn't been teasing her nonstop over that "hard" year that she had.
