Your college professor *BETTER* give you an A+ for this, because this is the kind of masterpiece animation RUclips’s algorithm will recommend a decade later.
@@zofmy5053Considering that this isn't an English class, that probably did not affect* his score And it's confirmed it didn't because he got a perfect score anyways
It's not even just about the lego animation, the story is so good. I thought I'd simply be leaving the short video like, "Oh cool, lego animation with cool graphics." This story has me left wondering and heart broken to the point I need a whole series.
It kind of reminds me of the "City of Ember" in the way that it is believed that the world in uninhabitable, but when the protagonists leave, they find out its fine
Forget the stop motion, this is incredibly well produced. Your camera angles, lighting, scene changes, scenary, etc. It is all so incredibly, beautifully produced. It is Film Level quality. I can't believe a college student made this. Unbeliavable. Your storyboard must have looked amazing.
This deserves an A+ and an animation job with the Lego company. I'm a film minor and I am amazed by this. The color was used very well in each scene portraying the emotions (I especially love the lighting at 1:00). Incredible dude.
Im doing my English final paper right now and this is the most fascinating video I’ve genuinely seen that’s really genuinely in my teenage years on this Earth. You’re special. In a great way. This is some good stuff 😭
Honestly, I would watch this over and over again and if there were more episodes, EVEN MORE. Lego animators are so crazy good at editing it hooks you in regardless. This was beautiful
dude, how the actual hell did you mentally handle making this??? i’ve probably rewatched this like 5 times and i’m still shocked this wasn’t made by an entire group of animators. well done pulling through to the end and holding onto enough motivation to do so ✊
@@SuperRamtinThey said 'you' which means they're referring to the creator of the video. They're essentially asking "How has this creator's videos never appeared on my recommended page considering the quality?"
@thecoalcub6012 probably because there's a limited amount of videos with long terms in between, therefore not being flagged as a potential recommendation for lego animation fans. Also with the limited pool of interactions the algorithm probably didn't have enough information to push the content out. Quality doesn't really matter, the algorithm does.
This is absolutely INSANE. If you don’t get an A+, even at least for effort, I’d be shocked. People are saying that with the algorithm being… the algorithm, this’ll probably pop up on everyone’s FYP in like a decade or so. That makes me feel blessed that I’ve come across this absolute masterpiece on my FYP.
Bro that is actually so good. The sound effects that build tension, the music, the focus shifting to the disk, the camera angles all made this a masterpiece.
I spent half of the duration of this video to figure out of I was looking at stop motion or CGI. This frame a little after 1:59 gave it away, but holy crap I'm impressed. The quality of the everything, the accuracy of the imperfections, and the pacing of the story... I'm upset this video is only 3 minutes long.
I randomly came across this video - which even I, with no real understanding of its level of artistry can comprehend - the details, colours, emotion, transitions, music - deep empathy and understanding for what I'm watching even though I don't really understand animation or 'lego art' - and I'm just blown away by the art but also by the comments - so many people who understand so much more what went into this, the detail and skill - and all the genuine kindness and support - that's what my 13 year old daughter calls 'finding a nice spot on the internet' - congratulations all round and wishing you continued success
This is such a deep film for a college final! The story is beautiful and the animation is just a work of art! This is some fine work if I do say so myself! Keep it up, I wanna see more
I won't lie, this little project of yours was spontaneously better than most LEGO films in my opinion It thrusted a story into your face and added lore to it without saying much, you just had to absorb what you were being shown, and I love that about narration methods! 😀👌 You could practically feel the emotion just from watching 👍
So much passion, so much detail and so much story in such a short product, great job! As somebody who has never tried 3D animation I can only imagine how long this took.
dude the moment he stepped out the door, tears came to my eyes. The fact that this is two minutes and you got me to cry that quick without even having the character speak is incredible.
This literally made me cry. Whatever professor you have if they don't give you a 100 I don't know what's going to do justice for this banger 🔥🔥🔥 P.S. It was also super emotional
Only thing I recommend is having smoother sound transfers, especially in the beginning it was pretty obvious you cutted audio out from a source and just left it there, their should either be a fade, very sudden sound cue cutted off way to early.
I appreciate the feedback! 👍 The opening montage audio was all generated using various AI text-to-speech platforms, so it would definitely be possible to generate longer sound clips and smooth them out further.
@@spideycomic_15 FWIW I actually didn't have a problem with it. I enjoyed the montage of news reports coming in kind of a jarring and dystopian fashion. It felt like a AAA production!
@@ed1t3d I think this has more to do with the fact that he has limited resources as a college student rather than a skill issue on his end. If he had an entire team of voice actors behind him for the beginning portion, I'm more than certain the audio transitions would have been much smoother. Him having to rely primarily on AI text-to-speech is a testament that he's working with whatever resources he has. And after watching the final video for myself, I can only utter one word about it: BRILLIANT!!
The first time I watched the video I didn't have my headphones on. The video played really well that it could have very well been a silent film (you did really well with it). Then when I put my headphones on to listen to it a second time the video went up to another level. If you make another Lego vid like this someday consider trying to replicate what you did with this video by challenging yourself to make the message that goes through the video universal. That is what knocked this Lego animation out of the park. Great job man, keep it up!
This was really good. The fear of the unknown not knowing if outside would be a danger to him as he’s been told all his life, or something different. Great job, me and I’m sure many others have enjoyed this very much!

Also the animation is so jaw droppingly well done that I legit was like “well this is just gonna be a whole new medium of original storytelling now, LEGO fan animation has just reached a whole new level!” I really hope you an A.
