This still doesn't take away from the point of the video, this is just another bug that I and many others were affected by, it's a bad sign for the future as the game appears to slowly be getting worse over time. That is still a big worry of mine.
I had this issue the other day with an opponent so I conceded thinking they were just trying to stall or something for concedes, but it looks like that wasn't the case. Thanks for that.
@@lachampione8520 the tcg makes soooo much money. The app not so much, but the physical cards make soon much, and they literally encourage you to play the app when you buy real cards. (The code cards in every pack) its hand in hand, of course people who play the physical card game are gonna want to play the card game. Not everyone has access to a local store to play in real life, so it's literally almost a necessity for your player base to still be able to play the game some how. Other wise there no point to buy the physical packs unless your flipping the cards for money at that point. It's so sad honestly, he'll they even have half asked their recent console games the past 4 or so yrs
Because the pokemon company doesn't really care about the tcg client. They care a bit more with the collecting and the competitive space, but let's be real, most pokemon fans play other pokemon games and most tcg fans are collectors rather than players. Even in their own mainline game they already cut corners, how much more for a game that's basically the forgotten child of the pokemon gaming tree.
everyone here is kinda clueless so ill help explain the deets. Tcgo and tcglive were not funded by the bigger companies like creatures. they were only made by tpci using their budget. Creatures inc is the larger one that owns a third of pokemon, and game freak and Nintendo own the other two thirds. Tcglive was deemed only needed for people out of japan since the scene there is strong enough it doesnt really need one. Thus the expenses and responsibilities fell on tpci. on top of this tclive had absolutely no marketing done, so it wasnt even bringing new people in. this is why its so bad. low budget since the people who have the money (creatures inc, nintendo, and game freak) didnt spend a cent to help make it, while tpci tries to do it all alone. Meanwhile, the new game tcg pocket is done by creatures and has much more funding and advertising. this is likely why its in the state its in.
All these errors and bugs are so annoying. I just want to test some cool new decks and it’s just stuck. Even the friendly matches don’t work… Come on PTCGL, just fix it!
As a QA tester (not for PTCGL i hasten to add) I'd be mortified if a release did this. My concern is that it won't get fixed, like the issues previously where loads of people couldn't log in and were just told to buy a new PC, which I had to do. Hopefully this won't impact the casual players too much as I'd find it very off-putting and look for something else. I've been playing a bunch of One Piece because of this bug.
We can’t even see the cards we had before the sun & moon collection, it’s absolutely sad that I can’t see the cards that I had. All my megas, all my breaks, all my full arts, just gone. That’s an absolutely stupid decision
I quit when the switch happened from PTCGO and I miss playing online, but I've moved on and enjoy content creators like you still make. Its an utter shame that this is the state of it and almost no improvements in nearly 2 years.
I swear the Error and Experiencing difficulties pop up never goes away when you log in. It’s a never ending of fixing a bug then another one pops up. Also I just really wish they can add more features to the game (trading, board customization, improve friend system, etc)

Error I have discovered mere hours ago: Rigid Band somehow reduces 6 damage counters by Dragapult ex to 3. To be more specific: Rigid Band was on the Active Pokemon, reduction of damage was applied correctly for it, and my opponent had only one Benched Pokemon. Naturally, I was not prompted to choose my targets, so it was not until my opponent's move when I realized that numbers are off.
As someone who's using PTCGL to practice for Worlds, I feel you. I haven't been able to get into a single online game because of the coin flip bug and it's starting to get to me. It's just awful to see the game in such an awful state and TPCi just doesn't give a shit. It's really making me question if I should just drop PTCGL all together and do testing through things like webcam and limitless
I haven't gotten the bugs you have but i still feel your pain bro. I get matches where I'm waiting for the other players after we call the coin, I've had my cards not load and gotta reload the app, and sometimes it just shuts down whether I'm in matchmaking or about to win. It sucks and it gets absolutely annoying. As always much love, cheers.
Oh my goodness dude I’m sorry that this is happening that truly sucks I’m a big fan of Pokémon and fan of your content and I hate that a game is giving this much issues repeatedly
Yeah I've been having the same issue and it's so annoying I think a semi solution could be play against viewers, friends, or something like that because it doesn't always bug out so you can send battle requests over and over
Between these issues and the shear number of releases in the tcg, I haven't been able to keep up. I have played a lot more GO and Switch games lately. And that's sad to me cause the TCG is my favorite.

Crazy that pokemon is the highest growing franchise on the planet and their card game is this much of a mess. Why aren't they shutting the game down for emergency maintenance? Why release an update in the first place when there was already a bug preventing people joining a game? Fix the bugs before releasing new cards. It's ridiculous.
I've been stuck on 'waiting for opponent to flip the coin' point multiple times, where the only thing I can do is do wait indefinitely or literally close the app on my phone as there's no time elapsing for inactivity at this point. It ruins your win streak, gives you a loss for leaving and just makes you not want to bother, oof
It's gotten to the point where I'd rather get my physical decks and play them against one another than play against another person on this game. Even bugs aside, the game is obnoxiously toxic and opponents often run the timer if they're gonna lose or spam emotes. It's a total mess and I only use it to construct decks I plan on building.
I have the issues too in my mac and iPad, it gets stock when I am playing. Additionally, some time the big bosses does not care and they push a release (like the Pokémon Scarlet), and the persons that suffer are the developer that provably does not have the right resources and working extra hours, I have been there.
I feel your pain I was playing this a lot and had started streaming it But every hour or so the game would crash or freeze and count it as a loss. It made ladder climbing discouraging. So I haven't played in some time.
I´m literally half way an exciting match and I take my price cards and now I´m facing black screen while still hearing the music playing... I´m an avid pokemon fan but three times is the charm. I´ll play again when the app functions as it should.
9 out of 10 games i start never get past the "Waiting for (insert opponent name)" and i have to constantly swipe the game out. I cant get any type of streak going because I cant even play the game.
The bigger questions: 1. Who is testing the client? 2. Why haven't they been given a giant middle finger and their walking papers for messing up THIS bad?
It’s 2024, and whoever owns this app should just get with the times, wake up, and start getting a team of content creators, and players to help guide them on what to do next with the game. Even EA is learning this lesson and doing this with games like NFS Unbound. It makes a MASSIVE difference and at least shows they care about the player base. Not to mention, it’ll make the game better and more enjoyable, which will help them keep it going for ages.
I haven’t even been able to play the app on my computer since about November right after 151 came out. It’s so infuriating that I cannot test decks against real opponents and in turn it’s making me not as enthusiastic about the TCG as a whole. Waiting an entire week to go to an local event for 3-4 hours once a week just doesn’t do it for me. I want to learn and grow with the game; but I can’t due to the devs lack of competence.
I'm also very affected. Can't play but at least I can test decks as long I don't get the bug in Ranked or Casual. So my two options when I start the game are to abuse the bug for an exploit (Ranked is ruined now :/) or to test decks if I don't touch the matchmaking. Maybe is time to move back to TCG One again...
Yes had this issue for a while now, however it did work on the phone app. I do prefer the PC version to play on but freezing at a coin or "waiting for player" is not fun, but maybe see if you can record the phone version for now as it seems to be working :)
The thing with PTCGL is if they charged a per month fee, but the game worked, it offered more (in game online tournaments for example), and the experienced improved I would pay for it as I am sure many others would as well I would imagine.
TCG Live is just a mess... I had to buy a new PC to play the game after global release because of the "no valid target glitch" that was around for more than a year. It's just one disaster after another with this client. I really miss TCG Online, which was such a stable client. The Pokemon Company needs to hire better programmers for this client, the current ones aren't cutting it 😴

PTCGL has been wonky forever and now it’s awful. I’m tired of bugs like the frozen coin, 12 prize cards, glitched supporter cards, or constantly getting manaphy as my only active Pokémon (after first shuffle) multiple games in a row.
I couldn't log into live or the trainers club for 3 weeks +. Kept getting error 15 . I finally can log in and can't get any games to play without the glitch. Live has too many issues
@@Scoitol That's why I want it to gain a separate standard mode with the standard cards. I get part of the appeal of pocket is that it's casual, but if it has something separate that imitates live but better, it would be amazing. This would be completely separate from the non-standard selection of cards.
My favorite bug was the pass not being available, while i was on the pass tab. Meaning i couldn't click on anything. No matter what i clicked on, the game told me, that the pass wasn't available right now and then sent me back to the pass' screen, which was a white void, because it wasn't FVCKING AVAILABLE.
I only have a few hours a week to play and I want my time to be worth it, I will switch the second another client comes out. I’m old so graphics don’t matter as long as the shit works

I don’t see how that’s true when you have code cards in every modern pack sold (do we know a certain % of the price doesn’t go directly into the funding for the client?) I don’t miss the horrible trade economy from ptcgo but I do miss the game actually working and just the feel of it, it was old but had that nostalgic feel that I get from playing Pokémon cards. I just wish the updated version was an actual update! I kinda feel like the staff for this game is like 3 people in a corner of some janky office getting paid low wages/horrible deadlines to make this game and this is what we get. Pokémon needs to invest in their trading card players they only care about collectors right now.
This is yet another reason on why I don't understand why the moved away from PTCGO. The game was functional and every single update didn't bring 4 more glitches, some of which break the game. It makes me even more upset that this is the only way they are providing to play their game online, and it just doesn't work and they seem to not care enough to fix it.

It’s spaghetti code. Destiny 2 had had this same problem . You fix one thing another breaks .

I tried to place Lumineon V to the bench but it had the effect of buddy buddy Poffin.

Hopefully Pokémon tcg pocket gains a standard mode or something, that would be amazing

@@Scoitol That's why I want it to gain a separate standard mode with the standard cards. I get part of the appeal of pocket is that it's casual, but if it has something separate that imitates live but better, it would be amazing. This would be completely separate from the non-standard selection of cards.

The bug has been there for over a week , but I have yet to experience the bug , sorry for your bad luck here .

On mobile you can’t retreat with special energy attached without the screen being unresponsive.

My favorite bug was the pass not being available, while i was on the pass tab. Meaning i couldn't click on anything. No matter what i clicked on, the game told me, that the pass wasn't available right now and then sent me back to the pass' screen, which was a white void, because it wasn't FVCKING AVAILABLE.
If our only goal is to test decks for irl play, we might need a brand new client for this. After all, Yugioh has many fan run platforms for online pvp

I only have a few hours a week to play and I want my time to be worth it, I will switch the second another client comes out. I’m old so graphics don’t matter as long as the shit works

I don’t see how that’s true when you have code cards in every modern pack sold (do we know a certain % of the price doesn’t go directly into the funding for the client?)

I've been playing Palafin ex and that deck really breaks the game. I've found 10 different glitches that have only come up in that deck.

I don’t miss the horrible trade economy from ptcgo but I do miss the game actually working and just the feel of it, it was old but had that nostalgic feel that I get from playing Pokémon cards. I just wish the updated version was an actual update! I kinda feel like the staff for this game is like 3 people in a corner of some janky office getting paid low wages/horrible deadlines to make this game and this is what we get. Pokémon needs to invest in their trading card players they only care about collectors right now.

This is yet another reason on why I don't understand why the moved away from PTCGO. The game was functional and every single update didn't bring 4 more glitches, some of which break the game. It makes me even more upset that this is the only way they are providing to play their game online, and it just doesn't work and they seem to not care enough to fix it.
Im mean seriously, the only things thay changed when the game updated was adding all these new cards from the new set. That should not be breaking the game to the point where we can not play the game.

This is how I felt playing scarlet and violet the first time around. Truly unacceptable from one of the highest grossing franchises ever. Sad.
The biggest deal imo is that the bugs take soooo much time to get fixed.
Come on, if it's a game breaking bug it HAS to be fixed asap. Any other game would do it but not PTCGL
