I got this when it came out in 2005 or 06. One of the only titles that made me feel better about missing out on PS2 and the new systems. This game scared me to death. Unforgettable.
I think there's a chance ID/nightdive may do a remaster of Doom 3 for an upcoming QuakeCon. They did Doom/2 even though it already had a platform accessible "modern" port. They need to add an optional flashlight weapon for a classic mode or something. Fix the over brightened lighting, fix/reintroduce the ROE environment suit and include the xbox co-op campaign or modify one in for the pc levels. I could see it happening, and a machine games Doom 3 campaign would be awesome if they did one. Especially if they went for some hell on earth type stuff like we never got for Doom 3. Like a darker doom 4 alpha. It would probably necessitate a more accurate shotgun varient for more open levels. Making lighting a game mechanic in such levels might not be feasible though. Alternatively more hell stuff could work, but I think I speak for everyone when I say we've had enough Doom 3 tech bases unless they come up with a very different design language. Night Dive does a lot, so I wouldn't expect them to do something like this, but it would be amazing if they did. They're my favorite company for FPS remasters by far.
Honestly I'm really hoping for a Quake 4 remaster/update, since the newer Doom 3 version is fairly compatible with PC and already runs on modern consoles. But Like you said I'm open for an update that has the CoOp
this makes me so sad to realize companies don’t do special things like this anymore, last midnight release i ever recently went to was mw2 (2022) and it really wasn’t all that special tbh 🙃

Oh God, GameRush. Genuinely, I feel like Blockbuster kind of gave up on their own version of GameStop like a year after this. It existed (I think til the end of Blockbuster?), but it was always a disaster. Felt like Blockbuster reacting to Hollywood video owning GameCrazy. Such an awkward video too. lol Also interesting to hear discussion of the then declining PC market. It really can't be understated what a shot in the arm PC gaming got from Steam.

We need Doom 3 to have co-op again, it was an exclusive mode for the Original Xbox you can play on both System Link and Xbox Live.
