Create a Holiday Flower Pick

Heirloom flowers that grow in the museum’s historical gardens add wonderful color to the decorations for Candlelight Stroll, an outdoor holiday tour in December. Thanks to staff and volunteers garden flowers are pressed, hung in bundles, and dried in silica gel to decorate the historic houses.
"Holiday picks" (seen here) are small collections of beautiful plants or single flowers that can be added to evergreen wreaths, roping, and swags. Watch as Erik Wochholz, Curator of Historic Landscapes, demonstrates the simple steps for creating a holiday pick.
