All three seasons were released on important dates mentioned in the series.
In the cold open of this season, they basically announced the release date of season 3. Which is also the date of the apocalypse. Many of us assumed correctly so. bo and Jantje had taken to call the seasons cycles (like the ATLA seasons are called books).
Season 2 premiered on June 21st, 2019, or, in other words, the day Michael committed suicide.
Season one premiered on Dec 1st, 2017... I'm not sure. Is that an important date?
On another note a cycle is also a submanifold. This becomes interesting once we know that spacetime is a four dimensional Lorentzian manifold which curvature models gravity.
So a cycle could be understood as a specific part of spacetime.
If we now take into account that bo goes with the term timeplanes for the different parallel years, we could assume that cycle might also represent a specific group of equi-distant timeplanes.
Every season of this show is incredible but season 2 is my favorite

I love how the teen Jonas is starting to resemble the Stranger and how much of the teen Jonas we could see in Stranger's scene with his mum. Their mannerism is on point (obligatory "what a fantastic casting" comment lol).
If we didn’t record these so late we would certainly be binging 😂 happy to live with the show for a while tho. Ur right I didn’t even think about that between the two Jonases, I can’t hear enough praise for the casting so keep it coming!
The shutting down of the powerplant is actually a German thing, Germany shut down all their nuclear powerplants some time ago

You find out later this season what Stranger meant, when he told Jonas that Michael saved his life, but didnt understand this until later. Seaon two ramped up the complexity and plot twists by 3... 😉
I found your dark reactions yesterday and they're so good I am so excited for you to experience this show. and also I need to mention this idk if someone already did. if so feel free to ignore this^^ but like season 1 came out in december 2017 and the very first scene was set on 21st june 2019. season 2 came out on 21st june 2019 and they mentioned the last cycle starting on the 27th june 2020. season 3 came out on 27th june 2020. it has been 4 years and everytime I think about dark I also think about that. like that's still such an impressive thing to do for me

21:00 wihtout checking back I think they mention during the walk and talk that they moved the barrels; but as we can see in the next scene they moved them from the truck to the cool down pool that they fill up;
...
oh I see; yeah... they talked about bringing the barrels back in and that is a cool down pool or rather a spent fuel pool (had to look up the term); so when the reactors were still fully operational the used rods of nuclear meaterial were brought here to cool down in water which reduces not only the heat but the ionizing radiation; now that they are shutting down the power plant they will fill up these pools with concrete because they are now themselves ionized; which is also what 'whatshisface' talks to Aleksander about: if anyone comes to check for the radiation levels here, they will not suspect radioactive waste to be disposed here, as the levels will be higher due to the aforementioned use of the pool;
I am pretty sure I learned these things in school, btw.

@@jakethomas2598 There are always new angles to this story. It's caleidoscopic. Dark gives really early clues and spells it out much later. So people deduct things at different times in different ways. 😊
@@jakethomas2598the normies were my first reactors to this show. These guys are matching the analysis and attention so far.
I’ve tried watching some other reactors but they don’t pay enough attention and are way off with their questions and analysis.
I’ve recommended this show to a couple of reactors but they have yet to do it because SoA or GoT or peaky blinders won their polls. As good as they shows are, Dark is next level for reactions.
Wait until you see what really caused the origin and started the chain of events in the last season. Your mind will be blown.
There’s some Biblical/Christian symbolism with the names: Adam, Noah, Jonas (Jonah), etc. Jonah is the Biblical prophet who was lost at sea and got swallowed by the whale and was stuck in it for a while. Also, the pendant has a picture of St. Christopher on it, who is the patron saint of travelers.
Time travel is always confusing since it’s inherently paradoxical. At the beginning of the show Mikkel the adult knows that he is Mikkel the child who got trapped in 1986 and became the father of Jonas and that he was the son of Ulrich, but he keeps it all to himself for so many years (as the letter in the first season showed) because it’s a crazy story. But no one knows how and when the time loop all started which is what they’re all trying to figure out so they can stop it.
At the end of the series, you see how, where and when the origin “started”.
For me season 2 is the best of all
