I used to do faux painting marbeling in the late 1990’s and found that blending faux marble with a badger hair brush and a feather for the veining. Good job with your technique! Love your videos! ♥️
Using a large Turkey or chicken wing feather for veining works so well, because you can wiggle the feather as you simultaneously drag. Using a feather creates the natural unevenness found in marble. Then going back with a super soft badger brush, or large sable, even a wide chip brush softening. It’s worth it take a test board and practice.
Amy Howard does it best...but I'd bet it takes her 3x the time it takes Christina. It's a choice, depending on what you're working on. I'm trying to work up courage to use Amy's method on an antique side table to use as a guestroom bedside table. But on a chest like this? Not me!
Nice job and just proves that everything old is new again. I remember when faux marble and wood were popular back in the 80's (?). I remember watching Martha Stewart doing it.
Brown is not a color I would have picked myself, but it turned out so beautiful I may have to change my mind. I love watching you Christina, You are an artist for sure.
Beautiful! Love the color. You may want to try a large feather for the marble veining next time. Dip it in the paint and then pull and twist it on the surface. Always love watching you paint, your videos are so calming. Like Bob Ross for furniture.
That looks incredible. I've seen people do that technique with their countertops but not with furniture. I hope you will do this again in future videos. Stunning piece of furniture.
Looks super! The brown is nicer than I thought! Just an aside- if you do this again may e film from over head so we can see better what you are doing? Love it!
Your makeover turned out beautifully and that "marble" looks great! I'm supposed to help my mom do her countertops with one of those marble-look epoxy kits. I'm such a perfectionist that is giving me anxiety thinking about it. 😅
WOW!!! I just found you and love your channel! That dresser is amaaaaaaazing!!!!!! I'm on the look out for one just like it or similar to try this technique. I have an old table in a bedroom that needs replacing.
That was Amazing!! I really liked this one. You pulled off the Carrera marble look impressively!! And I loved that brown and the gold pulls. Just beautiful.
I thought i was the only one to think that way. I loved the shabby flowery ambiance over the faux marble that we will get sick of pretty soon.... but i appreciate all the hard work anyway. Good job for those Who love faux marble. 😉
Holy cow, that's a MAKEOVER!!!
I know right! I wouldn’t believe it was the same piece of furniture if I didn’t see her working on it ! What an incredible gift she has ♥️
I agree- so sophisticated! Love it! I didn’t a tile in marble in my kitchen. Love marble but not the price! Great dupe!
To paint or not to paint...? No question--you know how to bring out the best in a piece!

Looks beautiful! Would you recommend using a roller for the top clear coat instead of the foam brush?
Wow!!!
wow!!
I should try this on my very dated bathroom sink/ countertop that I can't replace. What products would you recommend? I use DB paint also.
Love it!!! Do you keep most of your furniture make overs?
Not really. I donate most of them now.
WOW
What kept the top from changing your veins when you added the top coat?
GOURGUS 💗🤗☺️
Hello
🤎🤍
This is a crime. The piece was beautiful before and you removed of all it's personality.
I thought i was the only one to think that way. I loved the shabby flowery ambiance over the faux marble that we will get sick of pretty soon.... but i appreciate all the hard work anyway. Good job for those Who love faux marble. 😉
