Lets go with got Leo again! The Luminosity Legends. BOBC was a great tourney with loads of great runs including Kameme's incredible Sora, loved watching him do so well. I am sure you two will bounce back immediately and getting those major wins 🏆
I was surprised how well Haz and Charles did on the Quad stream. They somehow knew when something hype was about to happen and pointed it out before it happened.
I think this is just his stream set up and his monitor where everyone actually was is in front of him where he was looking. Flipping the camera would’ve been very helpful tho lmao
11:15 Sora’s Down-Smash doesn’t just move his hurtbox upwards, he literally has full body intangibility for the first few frames and then legs intangibility for a few more, before the active frames.
Which is hilarious considering Sora doesn't even NEED that to beat out Marcina up B, dude can just stand in a specific spot and counter. Sora at ledge is scary man.
Tweek you almost won summit 6 with seph and your diddy won a lot of events, there's nothing wrong with your lineup imo, they're your 2 strongest characters! Amazing podcast as always, it's my favorite! Also a big fan of mkleo, really happy to see him on the podcast!
@@elitheman11steelers Maybe, but Tweek's Seph is better than other characters that would do a "better" job. Just like Leo's Byleth is better than his aegis, even if she technically should do a better job cause she's just a better character. So sometimes it's not just about which character is better, but who you perform better with and who you like the most. Tweek loves Sephiroth.
Yo Leo’s back as a guest. That’s fire 🔥. Hope Leo bounces back soon. Also I hope quad streams become normalized going forward, we get more sets, commentators have to commentate less which seems more convenient for them, and the tourney won’t have to last ridiculously long to get so many sets.
Amazing episode! We need more of Leo vibe, how he's different in comparison to when he plays in tournaments is so nice to know! I know you can do anything largely due to your positivity! Cant wait to see Leo do amazingly again! See you
Its very dangerous when you play a lot of a specific mu with the same player like Leo vs Big Boss Rob cause you autopilot a lot. And a different player with the same char can abuse this like Zomba did. Its always tricky.
Agree, some people don't see this and thought that Leo would farm Zomba's ROB because of the BigBoss mu experience, but this was probably one of those playing the character vs playing the person situations.
Yes but a pro player at Leo's lever should already know that all players regardless if they play the same character play differently. Can't use that as an excuse.
I was disappointed they didn't mention Dabuz vs Acola. Dabuz truly was in a position to take the set, and the game 4 was one of the biggest uphill climbs ever seen in this game.
Tweek has talked about before how if there’s someone he wants to beat that’s his goal, I think it was in reference to Proto at Summit. Maybe once he beat Light the drive to continue cooking slightly diminished, hence the loss to Zomba, someone he’s not uncomfortable beating, and the immediate loss after Light, which he brought up has happened before.
I think he told us what happened in the podcast. He said “Zomba and Maister felt like they were really playing to win” and I couldn’t agree more. They were playing with fire that tournament. They had something to prove and the momentum was too strong to stop (which is of course supplemented by their recent grinding).
Both Leo and Tweek's character line ups are fine. I think they're over thinking it. Just grind more. Grind out the troublesome match ups. Go back to playing 8 hours a day, maybe more if they're willing. They'll find their answers in the practice.
I'm convinced that it's not about the characters. Tbh they're falling into the same trap a lot of mid level players do, where you get lost and want to resort to character counterpicking without actually getting better. I just don't think Leo has the drive and time spent in practice that he used to. Not that Tweek and Leo couldn't still whoop the asses of 99% of smashers, myself included lol
really nice episode. Much love to Leo as always. Also i really think its important to mention, that getting top 24 at bobc5 is basically like getting top 8 at any "normal" supermayor event, so dont worry. you guys are still amazing. :D
42:58 This was exactly my thought when Tweek was expressing doubts about Sephiroth in his post-BoBC5 tweet. He's tried to drop the character so many times but he just keeps coming back lol. He may experiment for a while but the Sephiroth will return. It's almost like Sephiroth will never be a... something. Man, I had the perfect word for this but I have such a bad memory!
I feel like Mkleo doesn't feel very comfortable playing a character that has such exploitable recovery. This even affects his confidence to make certain decisions during the game. Sparg0 seems more comfortable playing with a gimpable character maybe cause he's used to Cloud. Perhaps Leo may tend to play more difficult chars to edgeguard like Lucina and Byleth, this can help with overall confidence in the neutral game plan.
If possible, for the next Smash Pro guest being interviewed, I would like to humbly request another session of Dr. Fresh analyzing and discussing character line ups with the guest. It is very interesting listening to the discussion of how a character makes them feel while playing and their decisions they have to make regarding their character line up beyond just matchups (shame Corrin wasn't discussed but we got tidbits on Metaknight). Also, please I would like let Haz know, I can never look at the the title "Light's Out" the same again. I thought the title was neat, but then, the commentary between Tweek vs Light BoBC happened.
I noticed some pretty interesting things about shutons aegis vs leo's. 1. Shuton pretty much always switches to pyra when recovering (for the drift and the up b), I pretty much saw him use mythra side b 0 times for recovery 2. very commonly switches to pyra when the opponent is offstage, sometimes switches when juggling (leo definitely doesn't switch as much) 3. fakeout switches, I'll see situations where he switches multiple times in succession maybe to get the opponent to react to the switch 4. Doesn't really use foresight much, IDK if this is a good or bad thing but he's definitely not fishing for it as much as leo 5. I think this is a big one, I see a lot of EDGE GUARDING with pyra, rarely uses mythra up b to snipe (which leo is good at, but it's seems pretty ineffective). I think going for the pyra edge guards also gives the opponents more to think about when recovering making ledge trapping easier to setup Overall it mostly seems to revolve around using pyra more
Tweek’s saying he can’t pick up Cloud, has he really tried to use him in bracket though? I feel like tournament experience would be a huge piece of that
Damn. 33:30 was one of the realest things Tweek had ever said. The reality of getting older as a gamer. The reality of time commitment to practice and technique when youth isn’t really on your side. Amazing splash of transparency from him in that moment. One of the goats for sure❤
I’ve always considered that tweek puts too much stock in his ability to instantly be good with a character. His diddy and seph look infinitely more advanced then they did the first few months he played them

Aegis feels to me the same way Palutena does, a very good character that can or is top 5 (in Palu's case, before FP), but it's so broken that everyone has lab'd the shit out of the matchup, so even winning matchups can feel even sometimes. There's not a single thing you can do with Aegis that will surprise other players, it's mostly about pushing them and conditioning them to make mistakes, which won't always happen against those at the top, this is why I don't find Aegis that good. They keep saying "this player has a lot of experience against Aegis, this other player also has a lot of experiences in the matchup" the reality is, any top player that's worth a damn, will have a ton of practice against top level Aegis. Sora? Byleth? Joker? Yoshi? Incineroar? There's only a few peak level players playing those, having a lot of Incineroar exp, won't prepare you for Skyjay, unless you've had... well... Skyjay experience.
Did anyone else think Leo was kind of quiet in this episode? Not sure if that's just his personality, or he wasn't in the mood to chat, or he doesn't want to give too much away. But sometimes people would start trying to ask him a question and then just end up talking to themselves.
