I find that if I do a lot of lifting the paper will deteriorate even if I’m painting on 140lb 100% cotton paper. That’s when I panic. Besides, even after having stretched the paper prior, it will buckle and warp
Two things are important that you have not mention. Control how much water that you use to wet the paper, you don't need too much, watch the beginning of the video to see how I control among of water. Second thing is the brushes that you use. Many brushes may be too stiff and hurting the paper. Besides, not every 100% cotton paper the same. You can see my materials at: enjoyingart.com/store
Yong Chen thank you. I have used Fabriano and Arches. I didn’t know Arteza made 100% cotton watercolor paper. I’ll give it a try. Thank you (I’m only a beginner so everything is new to me , and yes, I’m sure I’m doing a lot if things wrong! But at the same time, it’s the only way to learn)
i find that using a brush with very soft hairs does less damage to the paper--maybe this could help you? harsher bristles i find have a tendency to "scrub" and not really "lift"--
I love this... love the colours (which I'm not sure what you're using, maybe I missed it in the beginning) and the tonality to the piece. Do you use your paints fresh every time? They seem to release so beautifully and you get colour intensity quickly.. !
sir can you learn us kinds of shading an its usage , My sketch is a little good but i am very bad in shading , i sketch still life but i cant do its shading very well.
I love your color exploration of the clouds is so unusual but everyday clouds always surprise me. I have habbit admiring the clouds and finaly i turn it into my painting. You can check ot out
6:13 is when u notice that the mixing palette has also formed a watercolor sky
