kachan is hotheaded, but chris was right, his only way to beat shoto was to take him out, don't understimate kachan, he is one of the smartest stundents in the class

@@alexmichel7792 Ironically, Deku win this round thx to Bakugo. Firstly, Bakugo slowed Todoroki down so he won't get too far ahead. Secondly, Bakugo gave Deku the idea of blow the mile so push him foward. And the rest is Deku's smartness

Chris was right. If Kacchan knew he could smoke them he would, but his best option was to try and stop Todoroki and then go on to win. However neither him or Todoroki accounted for Midoriya jumping up from behind to take the lead
This is always one of my favorite episodes. I love how it really shows Midoriya being able to beat everyone else in the race without even using his quirk once. Seeing all the other characters faces as he races by them is always so epic. Love the reaction too! Two headphone warnings. lol. I can't wait to see your reactions to the rest of this season! Yeah I really love how it shows his ingenuity and the difference of people who have had their quirks their whole life and use them as naturally as one of their limbs, and Deku who was Quirkless so long and had to make do without any advantages :D

The cavalry battle IMO represents what it feels to be the number 1 hero perfectly in the MHA world.. a lil taste of being the greatest for deku and insight on All Mights status
How so?
Basically when your number 1 pretty much EVERYONE will be after you for your top position or to prove themselves in your expense. Remember heroes in this world are ranked and compete with each other for work and popularity, best seen in the first episode with Mount Lady and the wood hero fighting the same bad guy for the most attention. Heroes get payed for how much hero work they do so the more or bigger stuff you do the more you get paid and earning more coverage from the news. Everyone wants to be the best and to maintain there top spot so if they are not careful will get it taken from under them.
It also makes them bigger targets from villains and criminals who would like to prove themselves or be taken seriously by going after the top hero. So the more popular you are the more dangerous villains you can attract.
As well as it might feel like for those who are not the number one and how they look towards the number one hero.

Apparently, Ibara was supposed to be a member of Class 1-A, but the mangaka found her hair was too time consuming to draw, so he relegated her to Class 1-B instead.

In this case Momo means Hundred (百) :) Yaoyorozu Momo (八百万百）literally means "Eight Million Hundred" since she can create so many things~ Pretty much all the names of the characters hint at their quirks, so luckley for me it wasn't too hard learning all of them XD
I love how the creator put thought into that when creating these characters. Hiding hints to a character’s Quirk in the kanji that makes up their name is so clever, probably one of the most creative things I’ve heard of.
Hanta Sero is also kanji for “Tape” right? I heard someone explaining that Sero means the same thing as Tape.

you have to remember that All Might essentially made Deku into the Peak of human fitness in order to handle the power of one for all, holding a shield and chopping a robots arm off is impressive and you are right it is above the limit of human potential but not but much thanks to the velocity of the robot
No and yes, deku hasn't reach "the peak of human fitness" in less than a year of training (even with a hellish program), so yeah he mainly could cut of that robot arm thanks to the robots own velocity

In Japanese culture to my understanding it's appropriate to use your surname/family name first it's low-key disrespectful to call out someone's first name and you don't know them like that... That's why Deku is the ONLY one that calls Bakugou "Kacchan" short for his 1st name Katsuki...

I LOVED this episode (and anime physics!) Midoria was fierce as hell and we got to see exactly how all those years of studying heroes powers and strategies paid off. It also made me wonder about a My Hero Academia show where Midoria made it into UA without using One for All and he was making it through just on his strategic mind and the new body All Might helped him achieve. (Maybe All for One could have taken longer to manifest.)
If they'd gone that way, maybe Midoria would study more martial arts at the school and be more of a badass "Batman" type hero like Eraserhead (while he slowly gets stronger, faster and more durable.)
As far as Manetta, he was using his powers smartly. He's smaller than even Sue and would have finished dead last if he had to run on his own. His sticky balls are practically made for hitching rides and he chose a strong "ride" who he was near and you have to figure the little perv would have chosen a hot woman.

My favorite episode of the whole damn show. I loved Deku this episode. Next episode is my second favourite and shows off my favorite character. Anyone who's seen the show knows who I'm talking about. ;)

On the Mineta thing they did give them permission to use their quirks on other people to make it to the finish line. That being said it was little bit pervy on Mineta's part. Also, I do hope Marketa keeps her ideals when it comes to people not using their legs to run or unsolicited touches, just sayin'.

That's great for him, but in the process he slowed Momo down, she wouldn't have had to carry his dead useless weight. You even hear her at the end say "how could this happen," because she's surprised how slow and tired she was. He definitely deserved to get his ass beat for that, surprised she didn't.
Marketa is right about him choosing her on purpose to leech off of (there were plenty of faster people on the track) and lust over all the time, whether you like him or not(I know he didn't break rules) but she's still right, he's kind of a shitbird.
As if bakugo and todoroki weren’t fighting each other to slow each other down and todoroki didn’t drop that robot on all the other contestants to slow them down. So what’s wrong with slowing someone down in a race and using your quirk to win. Isn’t that THE POINT. Overreaction points go to you.

Iron Girl was the only Support Course student to make it past the first round, and one of only two non-Heroes (the other was the purple-haired guy from General Studies who was being literally carried last episode) to do so.

He tried that on Todoroki. Didn't work, thanks to the robots.

11 classes, with 20 people each, competed. That's 220 total students, of which 42 made it into the second round. So Aoyama/Navel Laser barely made the cut.
"We haven't seen him use his hot at all."
He used it once, to melt the ice he made during the battle trial, but doing that took more time than making it in the first place did, so I doubt it would have made as much of a difference as you say. Not to mention that he had to touch the ice with his left hand to do so, and he couldn't do that while skating because he was using his left foot on the ground for momentum.

I love how the point based work. Since the gap between the first hero and second at that time was huge (All Might and Endeavor). They basically showing how the real world heroes ranking is at that time.

Btw, the 10 million points for 1st place just shows how much of a focus there is on the symbol of peace. Notice how we know who all might is as he’s in almost every episode of the show but we only learned of endeavor, the hero in second place, now? It just shows how much people glance past second place because of how much of a target 1st place is. Someone could probably easily defeat endeavor with some sort of fire proof quirk combination but they go after the symbol of peace and ignore endeavor.

Just an advice for the future, it's always the same few episodes that get copyright striked! Like 2x10 and typically around the episodes 3x10 , 3x11 and 3X12.
And 3x16, 3x17 and 3x21 are getting blocked often, too.
The Cavalry Battle or Kibasen is actually a popular sport in Japan played in schools during their annual sports day.
a lot of world-building takes place in season 2
All of them are smart in their own way. Kachan is an instinctive combat genius, Todoroki is the composed observer who thinks before he acts, and someone who learns from experience. He is the most observant person in his class and the fastest in assessing a situation calmly. Midoriya is strategic in combining other people's quirks because he never had one of his own. So when others go what I can do with my quirk, Deku goes what I can go with their quirks.
But there is no big difference in their smarts. Honestly, any scene with these three is a 10 on 10 in my books. They are just so different in their own ways.
1. "Indisputable first place" If he could've smoked everyone in the final sprint of the course Bakugo would've. But he had to take out Todoroki because he knew he was an active 'threat' to his win. He didn't trust that he could reach the stadium without distraction. Also, he had to prove (spurred by the challenge Todoroki threw at Midoriya ) he was the one to watch out for.
2. Everyone is allowed to use their quirk in this competition - to say Mineta isn't allowed isn't fair play. He tried to latch onto Todoroki straight away (and may have succeeded with his special move Grap-) but was hit by the robots at the beginning. Momo was another accepted through recommendation and he got the chance to bypass the minefield by sticking to her. Nothing perverted about conserving energy AND cleverly utilizing your quirk. Momo has the ability of creation - she literally could've made a wall or anything to stop/prevent the attack but didn't/failed to do so.
It sucks because she seemed to be doing really well but with the extra weight going through a minefield, slowed her down to 16-17th place. Sucks for Momo but I wouldn't say THIS was a pervert move from Mineta. I'd say it was a smart one.
3. First names are used between family and close friends. Last names for acquaintances and others. There are also often times nicknames given between friends as well (some with suffixes to part of the name while others are meant to be mean). In the case with Bakugo, his first name is Katsuki but Midoriya calls him "Kacchan" taking Ka from Katsuki and adding 'chan'. Everyone calls Bakugo by his last name while Midoriya calls him by a nickname based off his first because they grew up together and are... 'friends'.... (lol) But yes, there are a lot of names in this show XD
Anyways, great reactions! The scene with Midoriya contemplating what to do and then deciding to slam the piece of metal onto the mines to boost himself further while pushing Todoroki and Bakugo back is fantastic and so cool!

Right now Bakugo can't fly only slightly hover. Also he needs to drop to the ground and re-plast himself upward to float. Even then we all know Todoroki is smart so hitting Bakugo as he is about to land,re blast himself to float,or right as he landed Todoroki could easily use his ice in a specified region to tag Bakugo and slow him down even more. I think it was the best course of action.

In Mineta's defense (even though I don't like Mineta) he wasn't originally aiming for Momo. At the very start when he's bouncing off the ice, I think he was trying to stick onto Todoroki 'cause he knew he was going to be a front-runner. Momo was probably just the person he was ABLE to get. Or at least the person he most wanted to get out of the people he feasibly could.

Iida, Bakugo, Kirishima, Tsu, and Tokoyami are still my favorite 1-A characters though. Deku, Todoroki, Momo, Uraraka and Jiro are all great too though.
