It’s hard to say since Endeavor’s character starts off super strong but then his writing kind of becomes terrible not long after. I still think that fight is amazing though. It’s not particularly well-written in hindsight, but it’s still super good ngl

this episode, of all things in anime, sticks in my head the most. I know i'm not alone in saying i imagine vivid fights while listening to music, and the characters within them are molded by pretty much every bit of anime and game and movie i've seen-- but the number one influence in how i visualize has to be two moments showing Todoroki. it's the part where he's courched down, letting loose ice from his leg and fire from his arm, and the part where he slowly stretches his arm forward with a jetstream of flame trailing behind him like an aerodynamics test. I don't know if there's a more specific reason, but it just masters the visual artform to express so viscerally the idea of "power" and "strength". like an unstoppable force, be it the inexorable creeping of an iceberg (because, yes, they do move if they're on land), or an immutable tide of flame and ash
I always come back to these episodes 😭 something about them puts me deep in the feels and it’s always in a good way and it’s crazy how nick got so emotional on todoroki’s backstory that his contact came out and he looked like him 😂
MHA🫶 will forever have a place in my heart. One of my first animes and so many good and relatable characters even being a shounen. And no matter how many times I rewatch this fight. It always brings tears to my eyes, also because I can somewhat relate to Shoto.

The reason this show has such an insane fandom is because it's so well done. Some seasons aren't as good as others, but by the latest season they stick the landing all over again (in my opinion).
@@unnamed6864 I think a lot of fans forget that many of the characters are still high school freshmen/sophomores who are still growing and learning...nothing wrong with character growth and world building, many successful series do that and deliver later. It rewards the keen observer the more you rewatch. I still find new info and ideas the more I rewatch this series and reread the books.

Deku watch out, you have competition in the waterworks department. 24:15 spitting FACTS Nicholas has golden commentary, hands down. This episode was a long time waiting but it was so worth it, pre-watched or not, I can't care less when he gives us these amazing and hilarious reactions. He jokes a lot but he actually pays the most attention to details, be it lore-wise, animation, or music. That's something to appreciate. Him being in awe about minor details like the Todoroki tear or how Bakugo charges up his attacks, shows that he genuinely enjoys the show. Thank you for giving this series a chance, your MHA uploads always make my day!!
The Shoto fight is definitely one of the ones I look forward to seeing a reaction to most when someone new starts the series. The music placement, the fight itself, and the show having the absolute balls to go "Yeah, our main character is going to lose this one for a better purpose in an earlier round than the finals" is just incredible.
The SHOTO! scream from Endeavor is one of my favorite things in the show. It's so over the top and his voice actor is one of the reasons I suggest the sub vs the dub for this anime cause he really does give 110% or to be more on brand for the show he goes Plus Ultra!

One detail no one seems to catch is how everyone is talking about how much of a slaughter the fight will be but we see Bakugou taking it very serious and going to his prep room to get ready. He took it just as serious as any fight he had and held nothing back against her. I really love those small details of who he is underneath all that rage

a clarification; When Endevour said he put his wife in the hospital, it wasn't for hitting her, it was because her actions towards Shoto meant she needed psychiatric treatment. The first time I also thought he hit her LOL
