Pretty from a distance. Caution needed with those rust-belt cars. They dump tons of salt on their roads which becomes a mist and covers everything including the under hood area.
The Heritage was actually the '81 replacement for the previous year's Silver Anniversary Thunderbird. And also, engine choices for Thunderbird hit a really low point: Ford's long-running (first seen in the '63 Fairlane!) 3.3-liter (200-cid) straight 6 became standard - the first time ever for a Thunderbird! Optional were the 4.2-liter (255-cid) and the good old 5.0-liter (302-cid) V-8's. Total production for 1981 T-bird: 86,693. Not a good year for Thunderbird, especially when you realize that in 1977 and '78 - just three and four years earlier - Ford moved over 300,000 units each, and nearly 285,000 in 1979! (3/21/2021)
These are rare because they sold so poorly and they have a terrible survival rate. The Heritage is especially rare. I love these cars but I'm about the only one who does.
unfortunately you could put more money into this car to make it a perfect show car than the cars worth....might be a good daily driver for summer ..I would definitely would replace fix torque boxes,,,to make it safe///
I had an '80 base model from this design era, bought used. These T-Birds get a bad rap, but I loved mine!
I have a 81. Thunderbird
What a beauty!
Great 👍 review ! I own a 1981 Oldsmobile Delta 88 sedan. I love old cars compared to new cars which have no style or character.

Price you pay if you want to get around in many snow prone areas,

Rust bucket
There’s room for at least two bodies in that trunk.
Is it for sale?
This car was inspected by our team a long time ago... I believe it was sold after the inspection

Beautiful cars, has a real presence in person... it's a head turner...
Love it!
'83 were much better
Can’t be original miles?
Lol I know. Still using 5 digit ODO in the 80s,

Coyote swap
Those were/are damn stupid ugly cars.
I bet u drive a Honda 🤡
Sorry but no. 1984 Olds Cutlass and 1989 Camaro toys and 2020 Ram Rebel daily.
To each his own. I had a 81 t-bird and it was an awesome car!
Better looking than the majority of featureless bland high riding colorless blobs on the road these days!
