I got a bump on the head in the sixth grade while on a hiking field trip. I remember hiking back and something was seriously wrong with my vision. I could only see a small area in part of my peripheral vision, It was scary but eventually came back. I suffered a hard hit playing football in HS a few years later and, again, my vision went screwy for awhile ('bout an hour). I later got a concussion, playing football, that put me in the hospital overnight. Again, my vision problem returned. Im in my 50s now and, as an adult, I have experienced random periods where my vision goes screwy...like it did when I had hit my head in school. These episodes of vision loss, however, are followed by headaches. I think these headaches are migraines because they can be pretty intense. Now, I find myself looking for answers or people who have similar issues.

I am speech pathologist who treats clients with post-concussive syndrome and mild traumatic brain injury. This is a great video providing a brief description of the connection between the brain and the eyes! I plan to share this with my clients.

Wow, I think I finally have a lead. I keep telling people "I can't see" even though I have excellent vision. The picture that comes through to my brain, while it is not blurry, is off. I never considered a concussion the possibility that it may be causing this but I've been through alot in my life and it's definitely possible. I will look more into what people experience concerning vision after a head injury. Thank you so much for making this video.

OMG, I just had my eye exam with an ophthalmologist, and they didn't even discuss my double and foggy vision... so frustrating. The doctor said, " Buy these glasses. Bye. "....

Yes, please look up an Irlen screener and diagnostician near you on Irlen.com. This is not as well known as it should be but it has made a great difference in my clinic! If you care to, let me know about your experience. Blessings to you!

Hi. Thankyou for your video. I was hoping could help me with the type of specialist would i go to for eye retraining to read without words jumping around, ocular pain, triggering bad headaches. this is terrible. My vision prescription even changed following head injury, but still struggling. Everyone has been suspecting brain injury following accident that involved my entire body weight planting in my head, mack and shoulder.
Also wondering what type of professional for the emotional anxiety mood changes. When people get frustrated with me for things I cannot help anxiety is overwhelming.
Also, I seem to be having intermittent blood pressure skyrocketing after having perfect blood pressure for many years.

Is it possible to have a concussion without hitting your head?
Bc for me, I had a lot of these symptoms already, but then after trying to use Excedrin Migraine for a few years I had one last night with it where it just threw my whole body into an episode and I literally felt like I was dying. I wasn't in pain but my body just felt like all of the energy and physical power had just drained right out of it and I couldn't even stand up. Then the very next day I stepped out of the house into midday sun and I felt like I got punched in the stomach by that light. That had never happened to me before. Usually as long as I wore glasses I could handle sun just fine. Since then tho, with or without glasses (even migraine glasses) I have not been able to handle sunlight, tv screens or computer screens well at all. I couldn't handle my phone screen for a while either. Now I can thankfully use a phone but sun and other screens are still impossible for me to look at for more than a few secs without starting to feel pain. I got a RightEye test and it said my visual activity looked like I was dealing with a concussion.
