If Buddy & Jim were not there I would mute the sound because the network talent guy Tom Kelly has a real talent for saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. He simply doesn't know what is important at crucial moments. Anyway, I'm very grateful to Ray el rey for putting this up.

Tom was only hobby-level pool player, but an excellent golfer. *Here he essentially served as a non-expert surrogate for the home viewing audience with lesser pool experience, and asking many innocent questions they might ask, and deserved easy to understand answers as to what was going on in certain situations* . Sponsors rightfully *appreciated his colorful presence in that role* . Golf coverage often has a lot of dramatic language . . . pool not so much, as is appropriate. Cute comment but a grain of truth, Mac Read Jay Helfert's book "More Pool Wars" and you'll realize from the chapter on making major advances, how obsessed with the game and minute details most advanced players have to be at certain stages of their skills- and performance-elevating processes.
@Roger Scott Cathey if you were able to play at that level, you would understand. Just at the local bar I do all the above to have a better game. If you just a drunk who uses the house cue and just hits balls, hoping to get lucky, none of this matters. I take it that's your style of play. If I don't transfer, I have balls flying across the bar as the pocket is full. I've had balls come right out the pocket back onto the table by not emptying. But again, that's a higher level than you ever played.

Because Townsend was not ready, he messed that first rack up royally so Archer took advantage.
