Hi Caroline, completely understand your Viennetta memory about your dear Farher. My little daughter died aged 4 & she loved tubes of “ squeezy cheese” and i can’t even look at them in a supermarket many years later. These memories stay with us forever. Sending love

Dear Caroline, re Grief, lost my Dad in March and the small things are the most intimate memories of someone. They are the most innocent and I believe direct connections to our loved ones and memories. Thank you for sharing, have lost two nephews as well over the past couple of years, so processing is really important. ❤❤❤

I love your mother's sense of style Caroline- she always looks lovely in everything she wears. I also love your new bathroom and your haircut. It sounds to me like your knees are going the way mine did. I was in Ireland in 2019 and found I could walk up hills, but not down them. I later discovered that both my knees had collapsed and I've subsequently had total joint knee replacement of both knees. I carried a fair bit of weight when I was younger, not so much now. I can certainly walk a lot better these days.

Wishing you a wonderful holiday, enjoy every minute of it. I lost my husband nearly 9 years ago, almost 47 years married but together for 53 years and I have to be careful when listening to what songs come on the TV or radio because I could very easily burst into tears even to this day. I love hearing people talk about him, I once heard someone say "They are not gone if they live on the lips of people" and I feel that is so true and certainly helps with the grieving process. When you can hear people talking about loved ones you have lost, it somehow helps to ease the pain. 💔🙏

    Hey Caroline 🤗
    Another great video! 😊😅
My dad passed away 8 yrs ago & there are still many crying moments, not all sad! He loved summer sausage, so when i see it, i buy some in his memory. My husband sit & cut pieces, eat and talk about the good times! 🥰💜💜
Other times we try to cook his recipes 😋 & laugh/cry when we get it right or if we get it wrong! 😂😢😅
Yes, i have tupperware cabinet just like yours! 😂😮

Caroline, it’s a natural thing to do, cry for someone you loved and spent a lot of your growing years with and as an adult and your own family , and you have wonderful memories and silly little things that trigger that memory can bring on a tirade of tears anywhere and at anytime, and it gets easier but never fades. My dad died suddenly (no time for goodbyes, which I suppose is selfish on my part) at the age of 54 and that was 1983 so 41 yrs ago, I still cry. My granddaughter is different , was only 5yrs ago and she was only 9, so it is very raw indeed. But if you feel like you want to cry even sob, don’t make any apologies, don’t hide in another room, it’s what you are feeling in your heart ♥️💔which is broken . You have I know , and you will have times when you think of something about your dad that will make you chuckle, don’t feel bad that you are smiling, it’s all lovely memories in your little golden box in the corner of your memory chamber, let the memories keep coming, it’s a big part of life, well of mine anyway that helps me carry on.xxxx think of you often xxx

I totally get that you see things that remind you of your dad, especially as everything is just so close since his passing.
When my dad passed seven years ago, I was exactly the same and the first year is raw.
I’m seven years down the line from losing my dad sadly to cancer.
I don’t cry so much as I did and I think of things with him of happy memories now .
I still have my mum like you do.
I love everything you’re doing. Your hair looks beautiful. Your house in the views are absolutely stunning.
Take care of yourself and stay safe

Your hair cut makes you look so fresh & ready for summer! I have to say the red/orange colour of your top really suits you. Containers all with the same size lid? Genius! In my experience with grief at the loss of my parents, the small things are the biggest reminder. Still happens to me now-a-days, and it's been 25 years since they passed. xo

Hi Caroline. We lost our almost sixteen year old daughter thirteen years ago to Lemierre’s Syndrome and we still find that the littlest thing that we see or hear that reminds us of her can still have an effect on us. We miss her still but it is wonderful that most of the time we remember the lovely and often funny times we shared. The thing that is so important to remember is that grief is so individual and it is often the little things that can affect us the most.

Hi, Caroline, I'm 64 and I lost my mam when I was 26 and my dad when I was 50. Smells, music and other things in every day life bring back memories of them, and quite often I have a little cry. I totally agree with you re: reviews, I can't stand it!!! Every one and their aunty wants reviews, I tend to ignore them, unless I really want to leave one. I like your hair, my hairdresser comes to my house, she only lives 2 streets away, so very handy 😊. I love a good tidy up, makes one feel happy afterwards 😅 Lovely vlog, we are off to Florida next week so looking forward to that. Hope your holiday is relaxing and fun xxx

I do have a Tupperware drawer as 30+ years ago I used to sell Tupperware as I had a small child at the time and it got me out of the house. Take care

hi Caroline, great idea about the grief diary. We can all talk and help each other. I lost my dad New Year’s Eve 2022 so just a year and a half ago it’s been terribly difficult at first I was in autopilot organising the funeral and his flat and I don’t think it hit me till at least eight months afterwards around my birthday actually when he wasn’t there. I didn’t see him that often, as he was away a lot before he got sick, so it seemed for awhile that he was just away.. until the family events like birthdays Christmas and the big one was the first anniversary new year just gone , which hit me very hard. I lost my job three days before Christmas as well, so it was a double whammy and I’ve been suffering quite badly bouts of grief (delayed) since.
I know he wouldn’t want me to be sad, but I miss him terribly and I just have to remember that I was lucky to have him and all of her memories that we made over my lifetime and to how lucky I been to have him as a father, and I remind myself of this every time I feel down and it does help xxx
Ps your hair looks fab x

Me again Caroline🙂. Vertigo is quite common in women after the age of 55. There is a particular medication you can take to stop it. I don't know if you've spoken to your doctor about it, but it might be an idea to do that as it will probably keep happening.

Although I am in my seventies, and I lost my beloved father when I was 21, I still have those little moments. Grief is really tough. My dads been gone almost 20 years. About 10 years after he was gone my husband and I went to a BBQ restaurant that I went to with m6 father. Special time with him as I was one of 5 girls and it was special to spend alone time with him. When I went to order my BBQ I was crying. The poor man behind the counter didn’t know what to do with my tears. I explained the situation and he was very kind pulled myself together and went on with my life. It’s no longer an out the pain of him being gone but the remembering his life/our life and those special moments. Remember to be kind to yourself. ♥️

Hi Caroline, Your hair looks fab'. It has made me think of mine, maybe it's time.
Maybe your dizzy tiredness is another result of grief. It affects us in many ways.
Regarding new friends, it's a rare lovely thing when one meets someone new and knowing you've met a new friend.
I am so tired of seeing a nurse practitioner when I want to see a doctor. I do understand that many people really could do with just popping into the chemist, not having issues that really need a doctor. Anyway, a few weeks ago I bumped into my doctor in the corridor of the centre and asked her what did I have to do to see a doctor. She replied for me to phone for an appointment saying she was expecting to hear from me. Winner!! I saw her the day of the call, not being pushed out the door in ten minutes either. I wonder that it will work every time I phone. 😂
Finally, I love your vlogs, this weeks was terrific and have to say I love your strength, you're a warrior Caroline, not a review, just saying. 🤣❤

Vertigo is so upsetting and scary. I had it really badly last year, and my doctor sent me for a brain scan to make sure there was nothing causing this. They could find nothing - but one of the worst incidences was at the dentist, where they had the chair far back and then raised it quickly. I couldn't do anything for half an hour, and then had to call my husband to pick me up, as I was afraid to drive as I was still feeling so nauseous and dizzy. I have been sleeping with two very thick pillows, and getting out of bed slowly and it's been fine for months. However, I am undergoing some radiation treatment at the moment and it's happening all over again when I try to get up from the treatment bed. My nurse suggested it might be from the very deep breaths I have to take during the session - but all I know is that it is awful. You need to go and see about it. Your bathroom is amazing - such good choices! Have a wonderful holiday.

I am going through anticipatory grief right now. My husband, who is quite young has brain lesions and cancer, one of the lesions is growing in the frontal lobes and has caused early-onset dementia. For me, the things that make me cry are songs playing in grocery or department stores that ignite memories and of course, tears start to fall, which can be quite mortifying.

I can relate, its always the small things that start me off crying about my mum i lost to dementia. Loved today's video, and the bathroom splashes of pink look lovely, and the picture like a capture in a magazine. Your hair is lovely, you look very youthful . Oh yes my Tupperware cupboard is a replica of yours 😆🤣

Totally agree with your rant, I also find it annoying people asking for reviews all the time.

Your hairdresser did a great job of your hair. Funny how we can never get it to be the same way when doing it ourselves. Agree with you about the reviews. Very annoying. But love the subject matter - love to see what other folk are ranting about. Currently my rant is about coffee. So hate it when you go into a coffee shop and ask for a black coffee and it comes very short of the cup - almost half at times. Obviously I can ask for hot water but be good to be reminded first. Loved the soup recipe 😊

Don’t stop the HRT if you felt any better on it as far as sleeping goes all the good effects will immediately disappear. Vicki

I am a bit late watching Caroline but I loved this vlog. Must try the soup recipe. You really suit red by the way. Grief is a funny thing. You are ok and then the slightest thing can bring it all back. With me it’s often werthers originals as my late husband loved them. Have a lovely holidayxx oh and by the way I had to go to the doctors on Friday and before I got home I had an email asking for a review. Perhaps if they put those resources into providing a faster service there would be no need for reviews.

You're so right about the NHS! Funnily enough, my dad absolutely loved Werthers Originals as well - they were his favourites!

Great vlog, Caroline. Your hair looks lovely. I have an appointment today. I thought my hair was looking a bit wild and woolly and realised that it’s been close to three months since my last cut. I seriously thought it had only been about a month. Where does the year go? Hope you have a fabulous holiday.

Hi Caroline I started getting dizzy spells and a sort of aura. I can feel when they are about to start and they leave my quite tired . I thought I was about to have an epileptic fit. Had all the tests and brain scans and the results was migraine. So agree re reviews. I just stopped replying. Love your videos ❤

I love a rant & yours rang very true with me, the constant request for reviews is ridiculous. I will give a review, good or bad, on some products but I buy a lot of presents online so it’s not possible to review them & like you say they just don’t give up!

Hair looks lovely. Have a great holiday. Laughed at your rant. I order incontinence pants for my mum and am always asked for a review. Was the delivery OK, were the pants ok, etc. I just feel like saying, refer to previous reviews. They do what they say on the tin!!
Wish I could speed myself up to get all the tidying done like you did. Feeling inspired to do it though. 😊
