I think I have done a double sided jigsaw like yours before, only I seem to recall it was dogs. Same difference though - hard. 😊
I really dread January. Dark, cold and scattered with unhappy 'anniversaries' that my brain just won't let go ... anyway, this January, so far, hasn't taken me down any black holes, hurray for me. Love this Caroline thanks. Its 23 in the sun here once it warms up after 11 during these wintery months but gosh the villa is freezing. No insulation, no central heating, cold tiled floors. We have a pellet burner in the lounge and aircon heating and the odd electric radiator. Miss double glazing, carpets and central heating 😂 loved the flowers..well done. Must look at that rectangular vase thanks. I'm trying to declutter and tidy my clothes today. Started off with a very healthy fruit and muesli breakfast however just had a slice of hubby's birthday cake leftover 😮😮 xx
As someone who lives in the Northeast US- January blahs are the norm! Scraping the windshield before going out, making sure all of the snow and ice is brushed off your car roof before driving (so it doesn't blow off and blind the driver behind you or worst of all crack their windshield), starting the car 5 minutes before you leave - just the way it us! Oh well - April will eventually be here (yes, it takes that long!). Well done on the flower arrangement! Constance Spry would be proud!!(I think I just really dated myself).
That's an awesome outcome to the flower arrangement. And I have done a lot of flower arrangements in my history including florals for 2 children's weddings and many many showers, dinners etc for church. It really really is nice. I would be glad to have it in my home. I need one of those vases. I saw a Jewish youtuber use a clear acrylic one for a high holiday. Hers was beautiful as well.
Hi Caroline. Yes it has been cold and very windy, I had my cataract done on Wednesday, so haven't ventured very far since then. Loved your flower arrangement, it looked really pretty on your table. I can totally understand your January feelings. As winter progresses I feel myself getting lower with the black dog at my heels. You say you start to feel better on your mother's birthday. For me it's when the crocus start to pop through my lawn. When I see my first one I am immediately uplifted..

He cannot understand why I throw/pass on my footware only to re-buy the items again) but I choose to ignore this. Love your flower display it looks so professional, I am going to buy the vase & attempt to do a display (I am not artist at all) Hate the cold weather - could do with going to the Caribbean until the winter months has passed

I agree about people driving like idiots on the icy and slippy roads - very annoying! Your flower arrangement looked lovely, I’m not at all artistic either but you did a good job. I’m still burning a couple of Christmas candles too, as I really like the scents I just will burn them until they are finished . We have all had the nasty flu virus but the worst part is feeling exhausted and the neverending cough ! My sons birthday is on 26th and he is still coughing so much ! Going to The Strictly live Tour tonight in Birmingham so that will be great! ( just got the strong wind & rain to battle to get there!).
Experiencing aches and pains here in the Mid-Atlantic of the US as well. Its windy and cold. We've had a few snows in the past week as well. I am turning 60 this year as well and i feel every ache and pain that my body has to offer..Haha! I shuffle to my car from the house and to my house from the car. I have just decided not to expect too much from myself this month, so i won't get depressed or be disappointed. It works for me! Spring will be here before we know it!

I feel the same as you and lots of other I see from comments. I've had a cold and cough for over 2wks and just feel so tired and cant be bothered. I went to Band M a few days ago for a walk then for a coffee and it didnt help so staying in and hibernating until I feel better. Hope you feel better soon. Love the jewellery and flower arrangement.

January always seems a long month my daughter's birthday on the 31st she will be 50 makes me feel old its only 9 day's away and then it will get lighter and hopfully a bit warmer. bulbs are already coming up in the garden. Take care ❤
We went to stay in the Cotswolds over New Year and the cottage had scented candles, they were St Eval and the scent throw on them is amazing. Loved them so much i came home and purchased a few online! Definitely recommend Caroline! Treat yourself, the bay and rosemary is divine and they burn evenly as well!

I accept I'm odd but I hate the light evenings and mornings - I find it difficult to sleep, hate going to bed when it's still a bit light ( bedtime is around 930pm ), if I wake at 5am my head tells me that, as it's light I should be up and doing something useful and I can't cope with the heat in summer. I love the months between October and March with the dark evenings I close the curtains, light my candles and log fire and snuggle in for the evening. Think I suffer from SAD in reverse! : - ) Love the flower arrangement xx
Lovely to see you this morning 🤗 I had to comment on how the cold affects your body. It's the main reason I would like to move to a warmer place and hoping this is my last winter in the "frozen tundra". Last winter was probably our worst. I bring it up because one night last winter I could not sleep because the arthritis in my shoulders was so painful. I've done acupuncture treatments off and on so booked an appointment in the middle of the night, drove carefully to and fro since I got no sleep. After one treatment I was good for the rest of that awful winter. She suggested I take a turmeric supplement and so far this winter, no issues with pain!
It's no fun getting old, the years pass so quickly you even forget your age sometimes I find, which is worrying for me. I'm 60 this year so its easier when it's a biggie. I remember getting myself mentally ready to be the dreaded 30 at 25, oh to be 40 again, or 50. The dreaded 30s were the best years in hindsight, hedonism and confidence combined, give me Vernon over Ken anyday
I think so many people have super duper cars, they think well I won’t get hurt even if I do have an accident , don’t ever see any older cars much any more

Do you wear your boots/shoes in the house? I only wear slippers as I hate the thought of walking on my carpets with the dirt from outside. I also can’t do bare feet or socks like a lot of RUclipsrs do when they are cleaning/decorating. I’m constantly mindful of stubbing my toes. Breakfast muffins sound lovely. Have a great day.
