I grew up going here annually. The traffic in and out has definitely increased over the decades. Give it another shot when it isn't a major holiday or spring break.
We have enjoyed our stays there. That is saying something because we have always been more mountains people than beach people. We are empty nesters and have flexibility on when we go. We either go between spring break and schools dismissing for summer or after the schools have just started back in late August/early September. The traffic isn't so bad then.
Maybe the title is for SEO, visibility, and ranking. Okay, I get that. But bro, 95% of the video is about how amazing it is then "never going back" because of traffic on the interstate far away? Come on! But great video though. Been wanting to visit this park and headed there this weekend.
Also, this is a video we did about the bike trails. It doesn't get as much play but well worth your time if you like biking: ruclips.net/video/tB5akda9wA4/видео.html
Title was a great way to people to view. Thanks for the video it’s help me decide to add this site to our future travel plans and decide to actually try to book in advance. Thanks
You're Welcome. It's great to hear when our videos help others. If you liking biking you will love this other video we did about the Gulf State Park Bike Trails. ruclips.net/video/tB5akda9wA4/видео.html. Have a great week!
Try Myrtle Beach SC. The Gulf of Mexico and Gatlinburg, Tn has just too many visitors. It’s no longer fun due to being stuck in traffic. We’re considering different places and we live in Alabama. Looking at Texas, Myrtle Beach, Colorado Mts and such.
Spring weather we'll that's a thing south Alabama we get tons of storms from the gulf same in July through September. It's really a great place. Having lived in southeast Alabama since January 2014 and having to make many a trip to Birmingham for doctor appts yearly I would say pln your trips around those long holiday periods. MAR-APR are not time to be on 65, yes or labor day, memorial day, or the 4th of July. But why let a slight delay stop you. Sally did a number number on us for sure and the park is still rebuilding the pier. But hey, thanks for the review and hope your next trips is a blast. My family is going down tmw for shark week. Yupp the parks hosting shark week this week and filming.
Have a destination east of here, like Rocky Bayou in Niceville, Florida. This will put you on a path that avoids I-65. Then drive over to this park after a few days there.
And that looks like a nice RV park. I have spent many many trips from Ohio to Florida all over that state. Spring break is a mad house everywhere down there. The traffic is always an issue, even worse during Christmas and New years. All sorts of road issues but I sure wouldn't say I would never go back to a campground because of it. But I liked the video of the campground though. The fact it is booked out a year says a lot.
I hate they shut down the golf course, it really wasn't bad for a state park. And yea, don't come to the gulf coast in March and not expect bad weather. There is a very good chance it will happen.
@@CampBrood It was north of the lake past the cabins, it still shows where it is at on google maps. www.google.com/maps/@30.2681193,-87.6716133,3590m/data=!3m1!1e3?entry=ttu
I just booked 9 nights for Jan 2025 for $50 a night minus 15% geezer discount. Screw Florida and their 1 month penalty for out of staters. They'll miss our money in the long run.

Yep, that is the struggle for us. Our brood is in school and our only times are the holidays and spring break. thanks for the comment.
This why I go just before spring. It's a lot better when it's still cool and not that many people.

Yep. I’ve been to garden city, hunting island and Hilton head. All great coastal destinations near Myrtle beach

It’s a great park! One of the best we’ve been too. Thanks for sharing and being a part of CampBrood. 🙂

I didn't know they had a golf course. Where was it located? I really haven't seen any remnants of it on google maps or when I stayed there.

Haven’t been able to get a reservation here yet
Yeah. It’s not easy. Good luck.
Back when camping WAS camping and spoiled was not a thing, this was a great place.
