👍for fishing trips and boat maintenance
You got it! Thanks
Fishing trips and boats maintenance would be good and interesting channel is very good
Great suggestion! Thanks!
This is my new favorite channel.
Wow, thanks! Welcome to the channel!
When I was younger, my dream was to become a boat designer and builder, and today, I'd still drop everything to do it. Maybe one day.
You could always start small, maybe a simple skiff? Hope the videos inspire and teach some of you all out there to try your hand hand at boatbuilding and restorations. You never know till you try. I appreciate you watching and commenting!
Love the way the mold turned out! I'd be very interested in seeing videos of some of your fishing charters. The boat maintenance videos you mentioned would be great as well, it's always good to pick up tips from others to help me maintain my boat better. Looking forward to your next video!
Will do! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Yeah man, show us the fishin’!
I’ve learned a ton from your how-to videos, but it would be cool to see the boat & stuff you create doing what it was made to do.
Ultimate “start to finish.”
You got it! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Amazing job and I would love to see the fishing on the 29th and launching and use of the boat please.
Thanks! Will do!
I always wondered ............... ? Looking forward to see the actual part being made, thanks
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Hell yes! I’d love to check out your charter service via video content.
Awesome! Thanks for the suggestion!
The mold looks beautiful. It looks like a big red mirror!
Yes, I would love going on fishing trips with the 29. Maintenance tips would be awesome. Hope you're back on next week! A teacher absolutely!!! Or the best actor seen in a long time!!!
Thanks for reading my mind.
Wow, thanks! I appreciate you watching and commenting!
Happy for you. I just heard your voice and hell yeah let’s go fishing.
Haha, thanks! OK, sounds good!
you really make interesting and informative films, thank you, Regards from the UK.
Thanks for watching all the way from the UK 🇬🇧!
Love the flip flops!
Haha, thanks! Went fishing that morning, then straight to work on the mold. I will try to wear something more shop appropriate in the next video!
Turned out very well in the end. I would like to see your charter trips and engine maintenance videos etc. All of it is interesting. Thanks mate 👍
Thanks! Will do! I appreciate you watching
I have been following this build and really appreciate your attention to detail! The funny thing is that I think I saw you at the Ft. Morgan launch recently not because I recognized you but the color of the boat you were in. Anyway, love the channel!
Very cool! I can almost guarantee you that it was me. We fish down there alot this time of year. If you see me again, be sure to come on over and say hi. I will give you a tour of the 29. Thanks for watching!
@@FishBumpTV I will keep my eyes peeled for you and would love to look at that 29!
Always great to hear the drag screaming

Wow, thanks!
Great video Capt. would like to see you do some GOM bottom fishing. One day
Thanks, you got it!
A fishing trip would be great. Lookin forward to it.
Thanks for the suggestion! We just posted a fishing trip video a couple days ago here on the channel. I hope you enjoy!
Big step forward!! Really looking ahead to the next phase. Thanks for bringing this process to us.
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching!
Awesome job man that looks delicious 👏👏👏👏
Thank you 😋
I was brought to your channel from my interest in the fiberglass work and the surface repair. I am also interested in boat maintenance, navigation, maneuvering and line handling. Lately, since I own a sailboat, I have been interested in bottom cleaning myself, but I have always been a bit fearful of the sealife that sting, bite and push. I have a scuba license and some scuba experience, but haven't done that in a while. Your knowledge of fish also interests me so I can understand these fears better. Always enjoy your videos!
Very interesting! Thanks for your thoughts and suggestions! I will definitely take that into consideration.
Have really enjoyed watching you do this project. Didn't realize how much work goes into building a mold.. would love to see a fishing trip
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Always love to see boat and fish videos in my favorite area of L. A.
Awesome! I will have some coming soon! Thanks for watching
Congratulations on 40k !
Thanks so much!
A fishing trip would be great. It would be nice to see how fishing is in the south compaired to how and what we fish for up in here in New England...Also ,love the sandles.😅
Haha, yep! I was wondering if anyone would catch my footwear.I ran a charter that morning, and never changed from my flip flops into shop shoes! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Looks great. I really appreciate your videos. I’ve been restoring an old skimmer style boat and all your how too videos have been extremely useful. I’d would love to see a fishing charter in the 29. Keep up the good work.
Great to hear! Thanks for watching!
Absolutely awesome to see the mold separated and the finished result, it was like unwrapping presents at Christmas 😂 I’m really looking forward to the next episode. Captain Joe, once again your time and the sharing of your experience and knowledge is greatly appreciated 👍🇦🇺
Thanks for watching Dave! I really appreciate your support and encouragement!
Captain Joe, this is a great series and I can't wait to see the layup. I would also love to see some fishing video's and maybe throw a little, how to, when fishing.
Thanks, glad you are enjoying the videos! Fishing vids coming soon!
Thanks so much for sharing all your knowledge with us. You are a great teacher. Would love to see fishing, maintenance and boat handling. Thanks again
Glad you are enjoying the videos! We will try to add some fresh content into the channel for you all. Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for putting videos like this out. I have dreamed of building boats my hole life ,and I am so glad to have a great place to find out how to start.
Glad you are enjoying the videos and thanks for watching!
Yes, I would like to see some fishing trips also. I also saw the 2900 being loaded up on The Big Dan Show the other night and it looks great in the water. Dan also commented on how Impressive it looks.
Very cool! I had no idea we were on the Big Dan Show! I just checked it out, thanks for letting me know, I really appreciate it!
Hi Joe because of you and your channel I was able to take a rotted out floor rip it out and replace the wood and fiberglass giving an old boat new life ....thank you for all you do
Thanks fantastic! Glad the channel help you with your floor replacement!
Looks great! Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching!
What we have to remember is despite all the polishing and waxing of the plug the fibreglass of the mould is shrinking down onto the plug basically resisting the release process. Very satisfying when you hear the first release sound :)
Yes, I agree! A stuck part is a very bad thing, for sure. Thanks for watching and commenting
You could use that T-Top mold to built a 6-8 passenger custom light weight fiberglass or carbon fiber "Golf Cart top!" It's about the right size!!!
Haha, yep I guess you could! I hadn't thought of that one. That's what is so cool about this process, you could build so many unique and interesting things that you may be able to buy anywhere! Thanks for watching and commenting!
turned out awesome man
Thanks!
Amazing work and your attention to detail Joe. Yeah, lets see a charter. Thank you
Thanks, will do!
Great series of videos!
Glad you like them! Thanks for watching!
Great job, no fun when you get a mold stuck on a plug. I used to use wood stir sticks ground to a sharp point and wedge them between the plug and the mold to separate the two when needed, the air gun is the go-to method for getting them to separate, as they are under a vacuum with no air between the gelcoat surfaces.
Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
That is so cool!
Thank you very much!
Looks great !
Thanks so much!
I should not be nearly this excited to see this mold! Excellent job! Absolutely loving this series!
Thanks for another great video! All the best from California! 🧡
Haha, glad you are enjoying the series! Thanks for watching all the way from California !
Yes to fishing....take us out Capt.
You got it! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Would LOVE to spend some time fishing with you good people! Absolutely share some fishing content!
Awesome! Thanks for the feedback!
Great job 👍
Thanks, I appreciate you watching!
Wow!!!!! Can't wait to start working on my car's hood!!!
Glad you enjoyed the video!
It's snapper season. Bring it on! 😊 (p.s. ...those C-clamps made me nervous 😮)
It sure is, we caught some nice ones yesterday! I know the c clamps might look a little sketchy, but I have done it that way quite a few times on smaller parts like this with good success. You certainly could drill some holes in the 2x4 frames, and lift that way as well. Thanks for watching and commenting, I really appreciate it!
like to go fishing to see 29 in action
Awesome, thanks!
Yes more fishing PLEASE !!!
You got it! Thanks for watching!
Future project houseboat plans . Thanks for all the videos, they have been super helpful.
Glad you like them! Thanks for watching and commenting!
I want to see some fishing action!

Wow that turned out great. Ready for many more.
Thank you Sir, I appreciate that!
YES let's get some fishing too!
I need to learn a good way to throw a cast net.
Haha, I hear ya! We have a few fishing videos up, scattered throughout the channel already, just have to look for them a bit. Hope you enjoy and thanks for watching!
Fishing videos are awesome. Do it.
You got it! Thanks for watching!
Take us fishing!
You got it! Thanks for watching!
Would love a video of a fishing trip on the 29’
Big thumbs up!!! Thanks Joe! I've been itching to see this mold relise as im getting setup to make a wheel house roof for our
sailboat.About 9' x 11'.
Thanks again!
Glad I could help! Best wishes with your sailboat project!
Nice watching from Cape Town refurbishing my own boat too thanks
That's fantastic! Thanks for watching all the way from South Africa!
The analogy of a child birthing was a good one.....lmao, I've been waiting for this stage to see both pieces as the plug/part are
separated. With every little bit that separates all remaining weight hangs on the places where adhesion is still firm and as fast
as yours dropped I guess a good job of wax / proper care before hand lends itself to what we saw here ; a quicker separation.
Very interesting to see the nutz/boltz of the process - ty much / peace
Pulley's will allow one person to hoist fairly heavy loads but I think I'd want an electric winch if I did whole boats like
you experts.... this was a cool video. And she turned out like a mirror. A testament to good prep-work / products in
the front end of a project. That's why I've asked you so many questions. Nice job
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Another great video
Glad you enjoyed it!
Would love to see fishing videos and boat maintenance videos
Awesome, thanks!
Love the content! Also a great idea to follow along with you on some fishing trips and boat maintenance.

Top job mate. Yep let’s go fishing. 🎣
Absolutely! Thanks for watching!
Love this channel
Wow, thanks!
Your awesome 😎 good job I want to be fishing 🎣
Thanks! Will do!
Yes, we would like to see the 29' at sea. Also, I'm wondering how much would it he for a Boskin 19 modeled after the 29'. Hahahaha
Very cool! We actually have a dark green Buskens 19 in our gelcoat restoration video here on the channel. It's also in the background of our how to fiberglass over plywood video. I don't currently have the mold for that boat, but I do know where there is one for sale. Thanks for watching!
Amazing outcome. I can’t wait to start a few projects
Thank you very much! Glad the videos are helpful
Let’s go fishing!
You got it! Thanks for watching!
That is awesome! It looks perfect! Though, getting it to release from the plug was a bit scary! HA!
Haha, yep! Separating molded parts is always exciting and a little nerve wracking at the same time! Thanks for watching and commenting
Excellent "Pop" ....... Nothing worse than a "hung" mould! Well done :)
You got that right! Thanks for watching!
Very nice.
Thanks for watching!
Would love to see you add fishing content
Awesome, thanks so much!

Thanks for watching from Brazil 🇧🇷!
I would like to tag along for sure
You got it, thanks!
Beautiful work.
Thank you very much!
FISHING... You made the world's largest TV dinner tray
Haha, I guess so! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Incredible work and attention to detail! I’m curious, how many hours did you spend on this project?
Thank you very much! I haven't added up everything yet, but I might do that at the end of the project. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Like your channel. Watching some of fishing charter trips might be pretty cool. Thanks
Hi, what would you use to repair a mold ? Thanks so much. Great video series !
Great job. How many times do you think you could reuse that mold until you had to retire it and make a new one from the plug?
Thanks! With good maintenance you could expect to build hundreds of parts potentially.
Would love to see you fishing on your 29
Have you tried the honeycomb panels before. I has wondering what you think of the material. Great job on the channel. Love all the videos. Thanks Also what do you think of the poured transom material.
I don't use honeycomb cores very often, I prefer the solid foam cores like airex and divinicell personally. I have heard good things about the pour able transom material, but mostly on smaller boats. I plan to do a video on that topic as soon as I get a chance. I hope this helps and thanks for watching!
Thanks for all the videos. Keep them coming
Yeah let’s go fishing
You got it!
Hi Captain Joe, I was wondering if you could let everyone know about how much time you're investing into this project?
I haven't totalled up the hours, but it is considerable. It is still minor when compared to designing and building the mold for our 29 ft charter boat though! I have tried to make a very complete and realistic mold building series so everyone can understand the amount of work that can be involved in these kind of projects. Most of the videos I have seen are for very small parts, and do not go into great detail. I hope these videos help inspire and inform anyone interested in molding fiberglass parts, and I may try to figure up the hours in this project once we are finished. Thanks for watching and commenting!
If you were just going to build a one off hard top , what would the process be instead of going to all the effort of making a plug and mould ? Could you just shape up some core foam and glass around that ?
Sure, you could do a one off part. I have episode 13 of the hard top build coming very soon, and in that episode I talk in detail about how you can build a part without a mold. I hope it helps, and thanks for watching!
@@FishBumpTV awesome mate ! I have a build in about to start on a 7.5m swiftcraft in which I am cutting the cab off the boat and making it a center console style boat ! I will be building the deck flat and building the console and hard top myself and I want to use some form of foam and glass around it all so would be keen to hear about that . Thanks for the videos . They are the most informative videos I have come across on RUclips . Cheers from AUS
that is a serving tray for the next time you catch a large tuna. fish prepped in the middle and vegetables and rice on the side around it.
Haha, yep! Could be! Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@FishBumpTV been bing watching. I just bought an old tiara 2600 that I would like to build a hard cover over the helm for shade. I have never worked with epoxy or polyester fiberglass before but done a fair amount of home remodeling doing wood work and drywall finishing. I am paying close attention and thank you. Would love to pick your brain sometime but I know you are busy. Maybe you could answer quick question. If topdeck is soft being 40 y/o would you cut out and put new core in or would you drill lots of holes and shoot epoxy in place
Whats the total price on all the materials.
Around 750. That's using vinyl ester resin, biaxial glass, Airex foam core and all misc shop supplies. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!
@@FishBumpTV Thank you! I feel that I can build a swim deck for my boat now. You are an amazing person and a great instructor.
@2twh53 you are welcome, glad to help!
