Finally, I played all of the Paganini / Liszt Etudes. Thank you so much for your support. This project was not very easy to do within only 6 days, but it was so much fun to play. Some pieces are very new to me as well. I hope you guys enjoy this entire Liszt Etudes. 😎 I opened this channel last April 14th and officially the first video upload was May 13th. Now I have 87 videos. ‘87 videos during 83days’ makes me very proud of myself. Because I tried my best to communicate with you guys and also share a lot of my music as much as I can. However, the longest vacation that I had was less than 15 hours during the last two and a half months.😱 I’m physically exhausted... 😩 I am planning to take a short break, for the next “Second period” of Traum Music which will be more fast, powerful, effective, variety and has the most beautiful music. I think I speak for everyone when I say I am very impressed with your playing and work ethic Traum. Now get a rest, I'm very excited to see the future of this channel and the many great pieces that you have to play for us.
Literally got emotional. This piece I have seen played by many different artists, but there is something about the way you perform this that adds this almost "bursting to get out" feeling that Liszt seems to have in his pieces. Many artists cannot capture this emotion in their playing as effectively or concisely. Not that their rendition is bad by any means, just that I love your interpretation of this piece. The way your hands clenched at the end was in and of itself a powerful move, as that brought me to tears too. Honestly, a fantastic job as usual.
I feel like everyone is focusing on how often Traum uploads and how impressive the pieces are but it should be remembered that his interpretations are also extremely captivating. This is definitely the best version I heard of this piece.
Interpretations are ultimately personal preference. I also don't think he's on a keyboard, considerating he made an outdoors video and the piano is visible.
Huge congrats for finishing this series. I just found this channel, but the quality of these performances is beyond impressive. When you come back, I’d love to see you perform some of Liszt’s transcriptions of Beethoven’s symphonies, as they seem pretty uncommon. Cheers!
Oh my goodness. You’ve literally played all 6 etudes, in just six days. TRAUM, you are literally insane Edit: Actually used to play the first page on the violin with my teacher, when I was very young. Only after starting piano did I realise there was more than one page, and how truly difficult the rest of the piece was - for both piano and violin.
Chirag Raju Do you even play piano? If you miss a few notes, you can still play the piece. It isn’t fake if you use multiple recordings (many performers stitch together multiple takes when recording an album). If it was stitched together, they did a hell of a job because it’s seamless a the hand movements are fluid and look like one take. If notes were edited in, it would take an incredible amount of work to make it seem not edited in (I’m not sure it’d even possible because it would sound out of place without some special software, os at that point, just hit the record button again). I don’t think any stitching was done, or “editing” in notes as both require a lot of work to not appear suspicious or is actually impossible to do given the overhead camera. Here’s the thing I don’t think some people realize. None of these pieces need to be absolutely performance ready. If you played a piece 10 years ago, you can learn it again a lot quicker. When you record, you can also rerecord if you mess up. The only way they could have faked it is if he/she speed it up in post. However, music isn’t about speed. The interpretations are decent, so Traum still did a good job even if he sped it up and lowered the pitch. It shows he can play the pieces. If you gave a newbie the job of playing this etude at 1/10 the speed, I’m sure they could do it. Could they make it sound good after speeding it up? Probably not. Even if he cheats by speeding it up, it’s not fake at all. He can clearly play these pieces, and the only thing you need to speed up a piece is time and technique, and (his/her technique looks decent), so she/he can play these pieces.
Top tier playing! I’m curious as to what your setup is/what keyboard or piano your using. Your output is incredible. You’ve got me and a colleague scratching our head as to how you’ve got so much répertoire in your fingers. Just amazing.

I've been practicing this for a year and its fast and furious, most would say that it sounds like a professional recording (except some speed fluctuations and changes in dynamics to give the song a dramatic effect and my own personal touch) but it is almost impossible to perfect. The polyrhythms at the end are good, entire variation eleven is really good (fast, no staccato at beginning) variation 8 I speed up a bit (as everyone does) but variation 6? Never can be as fast as the rest of the piece IF I play it without mistakes. This dream of playing it perfect will never happen for anyone just cause of damn variation 6 and 11. It takes two very different skillsets to one of them somewhat correct let alone perfect. I've always been quick with right and left hand movement and even arpeggios, but the jitter you have to do to play variation 6 at the same speed as the rest is possible, but very unlikely when playing the correct notes and rhythms. Some people would say I have perfected this and I would say I'm as close as anyone could get to it, but I know that I will never play it perfect. That is why the Liszt/Paganini grandes etudes are so difficult and intriguing, it's a complex piece that you can practice forever and always improve on. If someone was to perfect the etudes they would lose the wonder, awe and fascination surrounding them. Only a few people can play it right, and I am proud to say I am one of them.
