We drove both and bought the Navigator hands down. Cadillac felt top heavy, bad seats, console felt cheap, and AFM is just a horrible idea as engines have issues.
I like team Navigator for the captains chairs in the back. I’ve used the Active Glide on the Navigator and it will actually navigate down the highway hands free. I prefer the Escalades dash but find the materials in the Navigator are superior.
I have had my '22 Navigator L for about 3 weeks now and I think you weren't using Active Glide in your video. Actually, the dealer said it would only do lane centering until you connect it to your phone's Lincoln app. The entire instrument cluster changes when you're hands free as well as the head up display. No need for the big light bar on the steering wheel like with the Super Cruise. I hate that all the reviews of the new Navigator leave out this feature especially when the Escalade models that have Super Cruise cost minimum 10-15k more than the Navigator. My wife and I LOVE our new Navigator, it's a pure work of art with amazing tech!
@@Maxwell1989 I'm honestly not sure if it has an air purification system, I'd have to check. We love the improved massaging seats. They are definitely more like a massaging chair compared to the previous seats which look the same on the outside. Makes the former seats feel worthless and gimmicky honestly! The pixel headlamps are very nice. They quickly and smoothly fade up to high beams almost unnoticeably. They illuminate adaptive when turning and cast a small shadow in what would be the oncoming lane to not blind drivers heading towards you in the lane to the left. Can't recommend it enough!
This is only a refresh, the Cadillac is a complete redesign, and I would still pick the Navigator. It is so much more clean and elegant. Plus, it has an easy access to the third row seat and the best third row seats in class, comfortable enough for an adult. Unlike the Cadillac that you have to fold the entire seat to access the third row. The Cadillac makes you feel super tight with that huge column that gets on you way. Can’t wait for the redesign.
I don’t agree that this is fighting for second. Slightly dated, yes! But fighting for second no! I currently have an aviator (been in the shop for a month :(…) but I really like my car. So much better than that xt6 crap. Anyway, I did order an Escalade but after driving a Navigator for a month I’m seriously considering ordering one. It’s extremely smooth and it feels high end. I love that it doesn’t drive like a boat. I’ve been zipping that thing around town like I do in my Aviator. But, I do drive it in excite mode to make it sportier to drive. It’s seriously on luxurious inside… torn now between Escalade and Navigator. Also, Lincoln dealership experience is FAR more luxurious than Cadillac. I love the customer service I receive with Lincoln. Cadillac… their customer service could be better.
The lack of an engine cover is because the current thermostat doesn't work very well and your engine temps can get a little high. Lincoln couldn't figure it out so they took off the engine cover. However, some guy on the Lincoln forums found that if he installed a different thermostat the problem was fixed.
Hah, yes, the turning radius is amazing; good of you to mention it! Surprised you didn't note that the Navigator gets the same EcoBoost variant as the Raptor...and embarrasses the GM products on HP/TRQ and 0-60 mph. The cherry on top - it blows them all away on MPG as well. Summary. Looks better, rides better, easier controls, more power, better MPG, costs less. Navigator is the king... Escalade has a better marketing team (that's it).
Based on the views in the last several videos, it seems people actually prefer to see the more affordable cars on the channel. Doesn't help that this Lincoln is old. This is just a refresh. We all saw this Navigator back in like 2018
2018? I saw it back in 2017 at the NY Auto Show when it was a concept with gullwing doors! Yes it was amazing to see it in person...in the future they should give it gullwing doors!
@@joecool9739 yuh the concept was fire. I saw that too, with the steps that deployed so you could step right on in. If it launched like that, it would've sent GM back to the drawing board. It was a beautiful vehicle still, in 2018. But it's definitely the most mundane and restrained option in this class now. I'd say my favorite of the American offerings is the Grand Wagoneer. Thing is just so extravagant. It's the middle ground between the Cadillac's insane tech, and the Lincoln's lap of luxury. But yeah this generation Navigator has in-fact been here since 2018. I watched Doug Demuro's review on it back when it first came out cuz back THEN... it was a beast. But shit moves fast as hell in the car world.
I hate to say it but damit man that Grand Wagoner is giving them a run for the money... with the technology package.. lincoln navigator gotta step there game up
The navigator has a more reserved comfort and elegant feel to it. When I think of elegance and comfort, the navigator comes to mind but luxury ? I think Cadillac or the Germans has that.
What do you consider luxury? Wrapped in leather and wood? Then the Navigator excels tremendously. A 30-way, massaged, heated, cooled seat? The Navigator. As someone that owns Germans like Audi A8L and Porsche, I don't think they have it beat. Otherwise I'd have gone GLS.
Maybe in 2025, or 2026, when the redesign comes out, The Lincoln Navigator will either have a Full Hybrid Gasoline-Electric Engine, or go fully electric.
This isn’t dated this is real luxury screens and more screens and air suspension and gimmicks isn’t luxury. Underpowered? 6.2 is underpowered? More than enough power but if you want more there’s gonna be an Escalade V, something jeep and Lincoln aren’t going pull out
