I’m probably not going to be seen, but do a taste teste using the format of the fancy vs fast food style for canned foods.
1. Cheapest canned soup
2. Most expensive canned soup
3. Fancy store brand soup
4. Panera/corner bakery or some soup place
Put them all down randomly and guess blindfolded what is what.

We need an episode (a full one, not just a More), where they do a blind taste test of microwaved vs stove top cooked food. Not just soup either, a whole range of stuff to see if people who cook things in a pan are correct when they say the microwave makes it taste weird. Say which tastes better and then vote with the pokey sticks which is the microwaved one

The microwave makes it taste weird because of all the previous foods microwaved in it. People don't clean microwave after every use. While on a stovetop, you almost always will use a clean pan.

Rhett knows the microwave. I don't know his history, but I can feel it in his soul. The microwave is sooooo useful. Before I could afford an oven/stove, all I had was the microwave and a toaster. Made amazing sausage, egg and cheese english muffins all the time. Lol

The one exception to my preference to microwaving soup is tomato soup for dipping grilled cheese in and I have no rational basis for this.

I feel STRONGLY that you gotta heat soup on the stove because the microwave doesn’t heat it evenly so unless you mix it aggressively it’s partially hot and partially cold. STOVE SUPERIORITY

Shelf ambivalent: doesn't care which way it goes on the shelf, or has mixed feelings about it.
Shelf agnostic: it is impossible to prove whether or not there is a shelf.
The reason to cook on the stove rather than the microwave is because it cooks more evenly. So if I have to cook in microwave I lower the power so that it cooks through rather than heating the outside to scalding while being cold in the middle
